  1. Shaq doesn't look at all like a 1st round pick at this point. Some points to consider. 1. He is still less than 25 games into his NFL career. 2. What could we get for him? Would it be worth it? 3. Is he worth the money we're paying him now (disregarding present injury) or should we just move him and free up cap space that might be better spent?
  2. Secondary: I'd like an upgrade at 1 CB position over Gaines, but he's still a decent player. Front 7: Retain Hughes, Davis and Yarbrough. Replace everyone else. I believe Kyle's career will very soon be coming to a close. I know I'll be rooting for him to be a 1st ballot HOF'er, but it's time.
  3. You have to pressure Brady, but we are 31st in the NFL in sacks. I guess we can try dropping 8 into coverage, but give Brady time and it won't go well. Maybe a lot of different blitzes? Agreed on Brown. I'm looking forward to a restocked LB corps in 2018. The entire front 7, except Hughes is in need of upgrades. Kyle and Lo will probably retire after this season. Well, Kyle will and Lorenzo should.
  4. While there are some on that list that might offer a SLIGHT upgrade over Tyrod, only Eli could realistically take us to a SB and that assumes that he can still play and would even consider coming to Buffalo. Both unlikely. I am still thinking draft our franchise QB unless we can pry Luck away from the Colts -- another long shot.
  5. There's no question that Shaq's performance is a major disappointment, but we have so many other needs that I don't see an upgrade at LDE coming this offseason. Other than Hughes, our front 7 is a wreck. There are other needs as well as franchise QB.
  6. Maybe so. I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Shady and signed or drafted a much younger replacement for next year either. We have a lot of good young talent in the secondary and a fair WR corps. We still have great picks coming up in the draft and we've freed up cap space by moving underachievers.
  7. I was going to add that and forgot. Good catch.
  8. Exactly. With our run defense looking like it did when Reggie Torbor was our best LB and guys like Torell Troupe and Michael Jasper our saviors, we aren't going anywhere. All in for 2018!
  9. Whenever you feel that way, just remember that we gave away a lot of underproducing talent and have yet to cash in on the extra cap space and draft picks. You gotta factor that into the equation.
  10. ...In a dark cloud. The Bills have been awful lately, but unnoticed during this swan dive is the fact that both of our 2nd round picks are starting to step up their play -- especially Dawkins. He has been particularly strong these past 2 Sundays according to PFF which put him in the top 3 performers at LT while Mills was getting eaten alive. Say hello to your new LT. If Glenn's foot gets back to normal and he's moved to RT, we'll have solid bookends for years to come. Zay Jones' rise hasn't been as dramatic because of the hyperextended knee, but he looks like he's 'attacking' the ball rather than waiting for it to arrive and give defenders a chance to get a hand in the way. Throw in the fact that White has been playing as well as any rookie and perhaps we've got a good start on an improved roster for 2018.
  11. I think the coaches are doing their best to win, but they realized that sacrifices had to be made for the future. Fans have been calling for a complete clean-out from the backups to the HC and entire personnel staff. Now that someone is giving them what they want, they want him fired too.
  12. Ya think we could let Mr. Beane run at least 1 offseason and draft before we determine that he isn't up to the task? Let's see what he does with all those draft picks before judging.
  13. Exactly. You have to look at the bigger picture. They knew they'd tank when they let Dareus go, though maybe not so much. Tyrod is soon to follow and perhaps Shady too. Shaq as well if he doesn't start playing better.
  14. Only Bills fans LOL. I guess firing everyone half way through their first season isn't good enough. Let's sell the owners too! Why don't people see it? It's all about 2018. The Pegulas will be fine as long as they're willing to spend. They just need to find the right GM and HC to spend it on.
  15. I think we've seen all the proof we'll ever need thar Dareus is a huge factor in the run game when used to plug the middle as opposed to playing more of a penetration style where your stats look better, but you overrun some running plays. The real question is will he be motivated now and give the Jags thr better end of that deal in the long run.
  16. OP, I agree. TT is not the answer. Why not give the kid a shot? I don't think I'd start him again too soon, but TT isn't taking us to the playoffs either. I don't see this team winning many more games this year, if any.
  17. TT may be the best option right now, but I think they've already decided that he's just not good enough so they wanted to see what they had with Peterman before the season ended. I don't disagree with that decision. Who knew the kid would implode like that in his first start? Better days are ahead for young Nate.
  18. I'm especially encouraged to see Dawkins on this list. If he turns out good, that's a huge boost in a time when OL talent is thin league wide due to so many high picks for OT's that have been busts, I suspect. At least Shaq is average. There's still hope.
  19. With Dareus gone, we can't stop the run. Result: We get a better draft position and (hopefully) draft the core players that will make this team great for years to come.
  20. Just stop. Leslie Frazier is one of the top DC's in the NFL. The problem is NO TALENT in the front 7 besides Jerry Hughes. Let's give the poor man some talent to work with. Start at DT and MLB. Exactly. They have to replace both Marcell and Kyle next season, but they should be able to get better play for less money. I think we still have to eat some Dareus money next year, like $9 mill? It was a move they HAD to make, but it will cost us the season. Cheer up. Brighter days are ahead. Look at the bright side. We might even get the next Wentz without having to trade up and keep all of our remaining picks.
  21. If our drafting doesn't get better, it won't matter who plays QB. Keep in mind, we just replaced our ENTIRE personnel staff. Let's see what they can do. Cousins may make us OK, but if we want to win it all, we have to swing for the fences. There are 31 other teams all after the same prize.
  22. I think it's quite naive to believe that the team has "quit on the coaches." These guys know their next paycheck depends on what they put on tape today. Our secondary is actually better than it was last year, but we just have so little talent left in the trenches other than Richie and Hughes. We're getting pushed around up front on both sides of the ball and the absence of Dareus, overpaid as he was, has exposed this. With no help in sight, we're going to struggle until the season ends. Pray that Mr. Beane is our savior on draft day and during the FA signing period. We need TALENT, not "the locker room."
