  1. He's a billionaire. Nothing's going to happen to him anyway. A slap on the wrist maybe and that's assuming he's guilty.
  2. How are winning at Foxboro and trusting the process mutually exclusive? What is the process? Please don't think I'm picking on you, but we don't even know what "the process" is and we're all going postal when we hear those words. Honestly, Even if McD does get us to the playoffs, some fans will make these meaningless criticisms of a process they do not understand or hand clapping or whatever. He does need to improve his clock management skills and game management, but he's still new at it. We'll see if he can make strides there. We're 8-6 for the 1st time this century and everyone is ready to see him fired.
  3. What do you base this assumption on? Clearly Mr. Beane hasn't run a draft yet, but the Panthers drafted Cam 1st overall when he was there. Has anyone currently at OBD said anything to make you think they won't? McD? Beane? Pegula? Anyone?
  4. He's better than Taylor, but not that much. Let's try to get our next HOF QB before settling for a guy that'maybe just above avg.
  5. The league needs to start taking guys out of games IMMEDIATELY when they make an obvious attempt to injure an opponent. If a guy is that agitated, he should be sent to the locker to protect the players and even himself should there be retaliation.
  6. I'm just glad I'm retired now so I don't have to be worrying about this. Sapp, though. Sending toys as gifts? That was really stupid.
  7. If I were Marrone, I would have left too. Look what he had to work with. Whaley, EJ and he was going to have to fire Hackett or go down in flames with him. The fact that he is now the HC of a 10-4 team proves it. He would not be getting this opportunity now if he had stayed. He has learned from all the mistakes he made here.
  8. We already have an average QB!!! Why is everyone so anxious to swap Taylor for a guy that isn't much better anyway? Smith, Taylor, Cousins, Garappolo? How about we go after someone that could be great instead of just OK?
  9. This is a joke, right? Two 1st round picks?! If we're giving all that away, let's go for a potentially elite QB. We already have a 'pretty good' QB. That would be an absolutely insane move IMO. Same for Cousins. Both of these guys are better than Taylor, but not by much. We need to aim higher.
  10. You don't need high picks to draft great talent, but it helps. Your odds of getting a better improve and all GM's make bad picks. You just need to make better picks than the next guy and get a good QB. A GM that picks well at the end of rounds still isn't going to pass up a good deal to move up. There's no question, though. Having a GM that really knows how to pick the guys that will succeed at the next level on draft weekend is perhaps the single most useful asset an NFL team can have. I'm anxious to see how Beane does in his 1st draft.
  11. Just 2 players I disagree on. Hughes is playing well, but gets more attention now that there is so little talent in our front 7. Also, let's not be so quick to dump Glenn. If his foot will never heal up well enough for him to return to form, then unload him, but I am hoping that will happen. I can't believe people don't account for that at a time when there is so little OL talent league wide. I can just see a GM like Elway laughing his behind off if we trade him to Denver for squat in return. The rest of those guys I agree on and if we part ways with Shaq for a 2nd (yeah, right) that would be cool. I hope he really steps it up next year, though. I was optimistic about him earlier, but even his supposed run defense has been a disappointment. I don't get him. He seems to have all the tools and work ethic, but can't put it together.
  12. Let me state clearly so there is no miunderstanding. You can not make a sound judgement on this process if: 1. You don't know the details which neither McD nor Beane is going to reveal publicly and... 2. You don't know how the 2018 offseason (ESPECIALLY the draft) turns out. Also, why does everyone ovelook the fact that this team is playing better with less talent? Also, we have some more cap space with Dareus gone and will have a LOT more the following year thanks to Marrone.
  13. I think we have been playing over our heads. We just don't have enough talent on this roster top to bottom. Too many holes. No franchise QB yet. No pass rush. Front 7 can't stop the run. The list goes on. Fortunately, we're loaded for draft weekend.
  14. Perhaps he got that message pounded into his brain too. Yes. He certainly knows HOW to slide. He just needs to learn TO slide.
  15. We have so many needs too. It would be great if we could get a good trade for Shaq. Both DT's, MLB (at least), another outside CB upgrade over Gaines and Wright (but keep Ganes) RG, C, WR with speed, power RB to take much of the weight off Shady's back and extend his career. Oh, and I mention franchise QB? But yeah, we definitely need a LDE that can rush. One other thought if Lorenzo can still play at a high level next year, he might make a better LDE than 4-3 OLB. I don't think 4-3 OLB suits him very well.
  16. His play has not declined. He is a much better run support player than before and had WAY more talent around him back then. Our LB corps is way below average. Kyle is average now and the rest of that DL besides Hughes are backups at best. I think Washington is history. He, Thornton and Coleman aren't even good enough to play backup on most NFL teams. To be honest, Hughes is the ONLY quality DL on our roster besides Kyle who has declined radically. Lawson has shown very little. I do think Davis is a solid rotation guy and Yarbrough has that potential. Those 2 guys aren't better than Shaq, but the difference in their level of play in 2017 is nearly the same overall. Lawson is still too young to give up on, perhaps. I fear he may be the next Walt Patulski. I say keep Hughes and surround him with a lot more talent. He'll earn his paycheck.
  17. I think you're judging too harshly. McD hasn't done a bad job at all considering what he has to work with. He can't get rid of the whole roster in 1 year. I'm not saying he will or won't be a good HC, but we still can't make a reasoned judgement this soon when OBD still has so many good cards to play. I'm not even going to get into analyzing his game decisions. If he needs to improve there I see no reason that he can't. We'll just have to see. I also think McVay inherited a much better roster on day 1.
  18. I'd call the odds something like 20:1 in the Patriots favor. Bottom line here is that their roster just has way more talent than ours. Brady is also coming of an average performance, which for Brady is a bad game. I seriously doubt he'll do that again against a team he has owned for the past 2 decades. I'm just looking forward to all the exciting changes in store for 2018! I'm especially excited to se who we draft or sign at QB. I can't wait to see who it is. We need someone that can beat Brady.
  19. I think it also depends who it is. If they trade up and get a guy they think can benefit from getting off to a fast start or they unexpectedly land a great QB by other means, I could see him being dealt on draft weekend or whenever. This will be our busiest offseason in at least a generation. I'm excited.
  20. If we don't go to the playoffs, he's gone. If the Ravens win out, we're done for and their last 2 games should be VERY winnable. Colts next and the nosediving Bengals at home. The Bills will be challenged just to win in Miami, IMO. I think our odds of winning at Foxboro are 1:20 at best. The good news is that this roster will receive a major upgrade after the regular season if Mr. Beane is any better than his last 2 predecessors. I really, really hope he's our next top tier GM. It's been far too long.
  21. Well, let's both you're wrong about Jones, but he has certainly not been as impressive as White or Dawkins. I'm still giving him a chance to make it as a solid posession receiver.
  22. I dunno. I think we're pretty average overall. I also think White, Jones and Dawkins have bright futures. We also have a lot of picks and will save some of that huge contract money from Dareus. The real #1 question for Bills fans now is "How well can Beane draft?" If he nails those picks on day 1 and 2 of the draft ands gets a QB, whole new ballgame.
  23. QB is by far the most important position on the team and OL talent is sparce. I say QB first, definitely. Just don't trade off Taylor for Cousins because that would be pointless. If you can't sign or draft someone that is or you believe strongly will soon be a top tier QB, you might as well keep Taylor or go with Peterman if you think he can be a stop gap or better. Cousins is better, but not all that much. We need to shoot for the stars. After all, there are 31 other teams after that Lombardi trophy. If you want to get to the top, you can't be aimed at the middle. I know you can't have probowlers at every position, but having one of the best at QB is a huge competitive advantage.
  24. Without a franchise QB it makes little difference where or who we draft, IMO. If lightning strikes and Luck ends up with us, fine. One other thing -- At what point does the talent drop off or is the talent across the top rounds relatively steady? For example, if you believe there are 8 players in this draft that stand fairly well over the rest, you probably don't want to trade out of the top 8.
