I'd classify it as "pretty good".

And I expect 5 threads a day on this, on both sides of the argument, until Allen has definitively proven one side or the other correct. Just how it goes here.
-
All of that is completely valid and accurate. But there are many fans who are taking it further and predicting that 2020 Josh Allen was a fluke, or that if Allen has one more bad game he should be labeled as "not very good", or that basically the season is over and it was a mistake that we paid Allen his big contract. I don't think most people are arguing that Allen has not played poorly or that he doesn't need to improve. At most they might be spreading the blame around and also pointing out some valid (and some invalid) reasons that the passing game has struggled. But the neverending "the sky is falling!!!!" narrative after two games is a bit much and deserves to be called out, because it isn't true. The sky isn't falling. The Bills are still a quality team. Two below average passing games does not mean the Bills can never have a good passing game ever again. We have seen these very same players have great passing games and it is logical that they can, and probably will, have good games again.

To the airport?

Seems like a strange thing to care about.

Calling it now: Devin will be a 1000 yard back this year
MJS replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
It does mean something these days with the decrease in running and increase in passing, as well as the more popular approach of running back by committee. There were only 8 running backs to rush for 1,000 yards or more last year. In 1977, when there were only 14 games, there were 9. So I would contend that it is nearly as impressive today as it was back then given the changes of NFL offenses. -
Texans: Dumbest Coaching Decision Ever?
MJS replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You'll want to check those notes one more time... -
Asking some fans to be objective and actually consider situations on the field is way too much to ask. You should know this. This place has always been reactionary. Every throw is how the rest of Allen's career will go. Honestly, even the positivity after big wins and big passing games is way too reactionary. It's the same sentiment that had Bills fans calling Allen a bust after his first season because of his low completion percentage. They simply can't help but overreact to small sample sizes. I avoid TBD after losses for the most part because it's toxic and just kind of stupid. Even after a 35-0 spanking of the Dolphins fans can't handle some temporary struggles in the passing game.

Dang, I really wanted to face him. That guy can't catch a break. If the team doctor comes at you with a large needle, hobble in the other direction, Tyrod!

Manning cast indirectly peek into Bills Offense.
MJS replied to Mat68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
5 or 6 games? Against the Chiefs Allen threw for 287 yards and 2 TD's. His completion percentage was a little lower, so I'll give you that. The Baltimore game was really bad weather. Against the Colts he threw for 324 yard and 2 TD's, and had a completion percentage of 74%. The passing game has not been sputtering for the past 5 or 6 games. -
Does McD have the guts to make the call Harbaugh made?
MJS replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not deep in your own end. It has been proven over and over again that this isn't true. You are just making up crap. Go look at the stats and they will show you that McDermott does go for it on 4th down when he should. -
I think it would have been even more of a blood bath. Brisset was able to get some throws off because of his size. He made many throws while getting hammered by defenders as well. I don't think Tua would have been able to have as much poise, and he is smaller so he would not have been able to fight through defenders to get passes off.

I don't think taunting is that big of a deal, personally. If they want to throw flags for that stuff, whatever, but what concerns me is Wallace KNOWS that the refs are emphasizing it. He should be going out of his way to ensure that he isn't doing anything even close to taunting. He needs to be smarter and more disciplined than that, not because taunting is so horrible, but because the rules and the emphasis are so clear and it's so easy to avoid those flags.

A.J. Epenesa was the best Bill on the field in Miami
MJS replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Milano was the best. He was all over the place. Taron Johnson was also really good. But yes, Epenesa was great. It's really good to see major contribution outside of the guys that usually have to do it, like Tre White and Jerry Hughes. -
Very early .. but D will be #2 after this week
MJS replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Take away the special teams TD last week and the Bills would be by far the best in points given up. I'm really excited to see our young pass rushers continue to develop and impact games. -
Picking up Edmunds Option a Rare Beane Mistake
MJS replied to Billy Zabka's topic in The Stadium Wall
He played well today until he went in to get hydrated. And I'm sure he would have gone back in if the score wasn't so lopsided. Edmunds is a good player. He just isn't traditional, hard-hitting type of linebacker that fans are used to seeing. He is a coverage linebacker. He's long, fast, and athletic. Yes, he isn't an All-Pro caliber linebacker, but that's fine. Not all your prayers can be that. -
Taron Johnson extension. When and how much?
MJS replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's not the position for me as much as the player. I like Taron Johnson, a lot actually, but he has definately had some consistency issues over the years and also durability issues. And I trust Sean McDermott to identify players to replace him if he walks. -
Taron Johnson extension. When and how much?
MJS replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess it depends on what the market turns out being for him. I'm sure Beane will have a number and not want to go over it, and if he walks, he walks. But he isn't a MUST re-sign. Not the kind of guy you get in a bidding war for. But he might re-sign with a team friendly deal because he likes being here. -
Josh Allen is looking a lot more like the 2019 version
MJS replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not well in the Steelers game. And the first game against the Dolphins was really close. -

MJS replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Faced two tough defenses so far. Give the offense some time to work it out. It's a long season. We want the team to be hitting on all cylinders at the end of the season, not right now. -
Zimmer had a good game.

9/19/21 Week 2 Gameday Thread Bills @ Dolphins 2nd Half
MJS replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bull crap call. That was not roughing the passer. They declined it anyway, but that was a good hit. -
I highly doubt either of those will happen for the Bills, or any other team, for that matter. Bass particularly is at a disadvantage kicking in an outdoor stadium. And the outdoor stadium he kicks in is one of the worst for kickers in the NFL because of the swirling winds and the amount of snow it gets annually. Allen is a threat with his legs, which takes away from his passing yards somewhat.
