I thought it was a below-the-belt move by Vrabel. They probably thought they were being funny.

Before the season if you would have asked me how I'd feel coming out of the Chiefs and Titans 1-1, I'd take it. Ideally you beat both of them, but you can't win them all. This will be a good wake up call for the team. They have a lot of great film to review and will be able to identify some issues to clean up and some personnel that isn't getting the job done.

Tom Brady just snaps the ball and barrels his way through. Allen has been hesitating and looking for an opening lately. That was not the time to do that. If you are going to sneak it, just put your head down and do it. I don't prefer the sneak there anyway. Our interior oline is kind of weak. Roll Josh out and let him find a running lane or an open pass.

Defence was dominated and Frazier needs to be more aggressive
MJS replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is just nonsense. Edmunds had a good game. I seriously do not know what you people are watching. -
It has been proven over and over that McDermott is not a conservative coach and has countless instances of being aggressive and going for it on fourth down. He sometimes chooses a conservative route, and sometimes you should as a coach. A coach needs to know when to be aggressive and when to be conservative.

It is a penalty. But it's also smart to try to punch the ball out. Just can't miss and hit people. If you miss bad enough and punch someone, the intent doesn't matter.

We need to ease off on other fans' misery.

What a bunch of BS. Feel sorry for other fans and teams if you want, but I have no intention of doing so. -
Should NFL refs start being suspended for idiotic calls?
MJS replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Possibly, but the defender definately shoved Murray too. So, whatever. I am not outraged by the call, personally. But it was definitely a weak one. -

On the particular call in question, if Murray would have fallen down (flopped to get a call like a lot of players do, including Josh Allen) it would have looked like a pretty legit roughing the passer. Murray released the ball, the defender took multiple steps toward him and gave him a shove. Definately a weak call, but defenders should know not to do that. If they see a ball released, they should be doing everything in their power to avoid contact because that's the way the game is played now and you don't want to hurt your team with a penalty. -

MJS replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, suspensions don't make any sense for refs. They are humans making judgement calls. The rules are ambiguous enough to make some of these things hard to officiate. I think they do a better job than most think. But as long as we have humans as refs, there are going to be elements of missed and poor calls in the game. -

Rob Johnson wasn't a draft pick for the Bills. -
Rank The Buffalo Bills Starting QB’s Since Jim Kelly

He threw a ton of interceptions. That's on him. He lost a ton of games. That's partly on him. And I think if you were to ask him if he has been playing better in recent years than he did in Buffalo, he would say yes. He has made comments recently that he is playing the best football of his career. -

I created a QB index awhile ago that looked at passing and rushing stats. I also included wins, playoff appearances, championships, etc. These are how the post Kelly era QB's rank in that index: Josh Allen Tyrod Taylor Doug Flutie Kyle Orton Drew Bledsoe Ryan Fitzpatrick Kelly Holcomb Trent Edwards Rob Johnson Thad Lewis Todd Collins JP Losman EJ Manuel Matt Barkley Alex Van Pelt Nathan Peterman Jeff Tuel Derek Anderson Brian Brohm What did Fitz do besides lose a ton of games? Yeah, he is a good guy. He is smart and funny. But he was not a good QB for the Bills. He was exciting because he threw the ball all over the place, but it was almost as likely to go to a defender as it was to a receiver. Fitz today is a much better QB than he was with the Bills. Tyrod Taylor was a better Bills QB than three of the four QB's you listed, in my opinion. -
Does anybody want to tell me again how good Flores is?
MJS replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
People were wrong. The team wasn't as bad as everyone thought. -

I agree. People talked about how great he was leading his team to a 5-11 record. Honestly? The team just probably wasn't as bad as everyone thought that year. I can point to plenty of Bills teams that "overachieved" and still only pulled out 6 or 7 wins. Last year they had Fitz to give them a few miracle plays and wins. I think the personnel decisions he has made each year have been bad. He is probably a decent coach overall, but definately not a top coach in the league. His first year he went 5-11. It wasn't a good season. -

I think they do tend to keep rookies quite low, but he is basically a starter now and really performing well regardless of rookie status. -

I was just going to say something similar. Most of the teams at the top are rebuilding or are just plain bad. Chargers are just hitting their stride.

Bills at Titans on MNF. Predict the score.
MJS replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall
34 to 19 Bills over Titans. I think the Bills will really want this one. This was their one really embarrassing game last year and it was somewhat of a wake-up call for them as well. They'll want to show how far they've come. Titans have too many injuries and deficiencies to overcome in this one. -

Question: what is a pick? Also Cover1 all-22 review of Bills D
MJS replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Offensive pass interference is "cutting off the path of an opponent by making contact with him, without playing the ball." You have to look like you are running a route and any contact is purely happenstance. It requires acting. Also, you usually aren't looking to hit the defender, just merely make them run around you and lose a step or two. "Blocking more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage by an offensive player prior to a pass being thrown is offensive pass interference." Illegal pick plays only count if they are 1 yard beyond the line of scrimmage. Otherwise, it is considered legal blocking. -
The one truly bad call was the hold on Mitch Morse. The rest were justifiable by the rules. But there were some missed holds that I did not like.
