And why did you have this belief in the 7th round draft pick? Did he ever show you anything to make you believe that he would be a good player?
-
Really? Strictly on Josh Allen? No blame at all for the oline getting spun like tops every drop back, if they were even close enough to the pass rushers to even get spun? The loss is on the oline. Yes, Allen could have played better, but he played poorly because he was running for his life all game long. And interior pressure is always the worst kind for QB's, and that's mostly what it was. Everyone on offense needs to be better including the QB, play callers, and probably coaches too. But most of all, the oline. What will you do if the Bills beat the Patriots? Will you agree to stop posting?

The NFL wanted parity right? Well here it is in all its glory.
MJS replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. Everyone is saying that the Bills have not shot at the Superbowl? Who does? Every single contender, AFC and NFC, has had at least one embarrassing loss this season, including the defending Superbowl champs. Bills fans just need to look at the rest of the league. This season is crazy unpredictable. We should be concerned about every team we face. They've all shown this season that they can turn it on for a game and beat teams that are better than them. Of course, they've also all gotten the snot beat out of them in games. It's a weird season and there's no reason to believe that it will get less weird. In fact, each passing week seems to be less predictable. -
The defense gave up 9 points even when the offense turned the ball over three times. What on Earth are you even talking about? How can you place even one ounce of blame on the defense?
-
The line is a problem for sure. Let's hope they can get some things figured out, get healthy, and have a bounce back. This oline has had good games in the past and they can in the future too. But, we've also seen them struggle before and this is probably the worst I've seen this oline group perform in a game. It was brutal. And the worst thing was they ALL chose today to have their off game. None of them were good (not totally sure about Morse, but I know the other four struggled). Let's see how these coaches address the problem going forward.

Exactly. Bills fans are getting spoiled. We used to have bad losses almost every week. Decent wins were a rarity. It's pretty disgusting to see fans turning on the team. A team that is still leading the division and, before this game, was leading the league in points scored and points against. I get that losses suck. They do. But why make them more than they are? A loss is a loss. It doesn't mean some giant collapse of the franchise. It is one game. Go win next week.

Wow. One hard loss and some fans are ready to jump ship? Good riddance. Go root for some other team.

NFL Officiating is an abomination for a 18B product
MJS replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can sometimes get those if you hold blockers to try to allow your teammates to get through to make the tackle. But yes, officiating was quite bad today. They made a lot of embarrassing mistakes. -
Would the season be over at 5-4? No.

Whelp, time to take a break from TBD this week. It's party time for those "fans" who hate the team. See you all next week. -

Wow, the offensive line is letting rushers at Josh Allen on every play. Really bad. -

How did they catch Trubisky taunting? Technology these days is amazing. -
Maybe it has affected Andy Reid some. The players have seemed to act pretty normally since that incident. I don't see the doom and gloom that you are characterizing. They have had problems with their defense for awhile now. In previous years they got their defense more on track as the season progressed and the offense overcame their defensive problems. But their offense has been performing for a long time now. Defenses have faced them many times and have more blueprints on how to limit them. Their stars are getting older every year and they haven't drafted well to bring in new elements and weapons to the offense or to help their struggling defense. In short, I think the incident you mentioned has little or nothing to do with their struggles this year, or the Superbowl last year.

All-22 Grades for Bills/Dolphins (The Athletic)
MJS replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess I'd have to see the play in question again. You also can't interfere with the receiver's opportunity to catch the pass, so it is a balance for sure. -

The defender has as much right to play the ball as does the receiver. The plays that I remember, White was playing the ball and the contact was legitimate because of that. -
How do you deep down, really feel about this defense?
MJS replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is clearly an elite defense. How is that not obvious? The Bills are playing very well against the run, actually. -
Breaking News: Odell Beckham is set to be released
MJS replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall
He'll be a Kansas City Chief. They need to constantly remind us how douchy they and their players are and this is a perfect opportunity to do that. -
Because what's the difference between a great throw and catch and a "turnover worthy throw"? It's completely subjective. One person might look at a play and say "that was an amazing throw. He fit it into tight coverage" and another might say "the defender was in tight coverage. He never should have made that throw." And it doesn't seem to have correlation to ACTUAL turnovers. Allen has only a few turnovers this season. Last season he did not turn over the ball a ton either. Yet both years he has some of the most "turnover worthy" plays of any QB. It's the stupidest metric. Do your rates go up if you almost hit another car? Or if another car almost hits you? Those were "accident worthy" moments on the road.

We weren't just a franchise QB away. We were a bunch of coaches away too, including the head coach and coordinators. We were also a culture away. We were also a "team" away, instead of just a collection of talent. Whaley could bring in talent, but he couldn't build a team. He also lacked any leadership or accountability whatsoever. I'm glad he didn't find a franchise QB. He was not the man for the job and I am glad he is gone and we now have Beane, someone with vision, leadership, and who knows how to build a team. He does more than just collect talent.

Week 9: Bills at Jags. Predict the score
MJS replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall
And who should be talking superbowl in the AFC? Chargers? Chiefs? Titans? They have all had embarrassing losses. Same with the NFC frontrunners outside of maybe the Cowboys. Every team has blemishes. The team who wins the super bowl will not have a perfect season. The Bills are a Superbowl contender. They are one of the top teams in the NFL. -

32 to 16 Bills. -
People have been complaining about officiating since the beginning of time. No, I don't think it is worse. And honestly, fans are often very wrong about a lot of the calls or no calls that they complain about. Yes, the officials miss things sometimes. Sometimes they make bad calls. Sometimes it is really bad. But most of the time it is fine.

Bills-Dolphins 26-11 score was only the 3rd one in the history of the NFL
MJS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess you are right, but it is possible for a team to score only 1 point, so the score could be 6-1. -

MJS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
4-4 would be even crazier. Technically, you could have a 1-0 score if you somehow scored a conversion safety. It hasn't been done in the NFL since 1940, but it is possible for both the offense and the defense even today, I think. EDIT: You can only score a conversion safety on an extra point try, so 1-0 is not possible. But 6-1 is possible.
