Tim Graham: Bills stadium deal could be announced this week.
MJS replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's not 1960 anymore... -
He threw for fewer yards and TD's than the previous season. He had 400 rushing yards versus 800 the previous year. 5 rushing TD's versus 12 the previous year. His sack percentage was higher. QBR went down (though QBR is a stupid stat anyway). He actually had a tremendous start to the season. Those numbers prop up his stats. Starting in week 7 he went downhill. This was reflected in their win-loss record with them only winning 2 games that he started from week 7 on. He missed 3 games due to injury. Clear regression statistically from the season prior, and a clear regression in 2021 from how he played early to how he played later in the season, all coming to a head with a horrendous performance in the playoffs. Cardinals have zero playoff wins with Murray. They have one winning season. Murray has accomplished little to warrant holding his team for hostage.

Todays Take on Generational Money Where is That Line ?
MJS replied to T master's topic in Off the Wall
It's all about what you do with it. I have a multi millionaire acquaintance and he told me that getting the first million is really hard, but after that it starts really compounding and getting your next few million is a lot easier. You just have to know how to use money to make money. The key is developing a lot of passive income so eventually you don't need to work at all, or at least very minimally, to be making money. So, real estate is a great thing because real estate appreciates. If I had a million dollars right now I'd go invest in a few short-term and long-term rentals, continue to scale that, and be set for life. Rich people also use their homes as a way to generate wealth. Their homes are investments. Buy a huge mansion, live in it for a few years and let it appreciate, sell it for a big return. Rinse and repeat. -
They've accomplished basically nothing and Murray continues to regress.
-
Allen is humble and teachable and he drives himself to become better each day. He isn't threatened when his deficiencies are pointed out, he looks at it as an opportunity to improve. Murray is in it all for himself. He is a terrible leader and blames everyone but himself for their failures. He thinks he has arrived as an elite QB and is not open to criticism or growth. That's the real difference. Allen will continue to improve and Murray will continue to blame others. We'll see how long that last for him.

Bills will NOT be playing overseas this year
MJS replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's to try to increase international interest in the sport. This has to do with money, obviously, but also increasing the interest in youth athletes and providing another avenue of talent for the NFL in the future. There's really no reason not to do it if you are the NFL. The NFLPA might not like it, but they like money too, so when there is enough financial incentive they get on board too. As for the players themselves, I'm sure there are some concerns, but a lot of them might find it fun to travel to other cities and experience them and play in front of foreign crowds. -
Good for him. He has a long life ahead of him and lots of money in the bank to live it with. I'd take that in a heartbeat. The minute I am financially secure enough to retire, I'm doing it. I get my joy from spending time with my wife and kids, traveling, hobbies, and learning. Can't wait till I can do those things full time, and I hope I'm not an old geezer with a broken body by the time that happens.

He wouldn't be my first choice, but I would be fine with it. He does have talent. He is actually a pretty good runner. He is just horrible at protecting the football. That has always been his problem. But maybe if he came and had a good environment and good coaching he could turn it around. He has had good games in the NFL. I can see Darnold, but why in the world would you bring in Rosen? He has shown absolutely nothing positive in the NFL. At least Darnold has put together decent stretches in his career.

In hindsight, what’s your worst “hot take” on TSW ever?
MJS replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I'm not sure why people are mentioning Mario Williams. He was elite in Buffalo. He is also the last elite pass rusher we had. Too bad we don't have a guy like that now. He really hated playing for Rex Ryan, and who can blame him? -

MJS replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wanted Matt Barkley back in whatever year's draft that was. Funny he later became our backup. I wanted Josh Rosen. I was vocal against Josh Allen before we picked him. I talked myself into the Rex Ryan hire, even though I hated it at first. I should have stayed with my original opinion. -
Dumb to grade draft classes so early.

I don't think that is the case. Bills fans are pretty united in the PFF disdain. Just read the thread and you will see many posters pointing out that they suck regardless of when they say something good or bad about a player.

Bills moving toward a return to St. John Fisher for TC
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I find it interesting that some fans have a strong opinion about where they hold training camp... Unless you are from the area and plan on going out to see the team. -
Per Andrew Marchand (New York Post) Troy Aikman is ESPN bound for MNF
MJS replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh thank goodness. The Monday night crew has been unlistenable. Not a huge fan of Aikman, but he is better than what they had. -
Today!

JC Jackson not happy with Pats approach to him as a FA
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He is going to get top dollar. I don't think we can afford him. But if I was him, I would not want to be in NE. They left him off the pro bowl ballot his first break out season, and he has to face the Bills twice a year... -
He would have been cut this off-season, but the NFL provided him an opt-out season. That's what really is screwing the Bills. It was a bad contract, but the opt-out made it worse. Oh well. The Bills will survive. Maybe Star will play better next season because apparently COVID recovery really held him back. He had some highlights before he got sick.

While I do agree somewhat, I see the appeal of getting some elite physical traits in the secondary. Drafting guys in later rounds usually means you miss out on the elite traits. I think that is what our secondary is missing. We can play well against a lot of teams, but if they have some physical specimens at receiver or TE, they struggle. We need more speed and physicality to match up to Hill and Kelce (but not just them. It isn't all about the Chiefs). Anyways, it is a little silly to be talking about this before free agency. Who knows what the needs will really be? We have to see how free agency plays out.
-
He should definately be extended. He is underpaid by a wide margin. Keep him happy. And you can lower his cap hit next season by doing so. Absolute no-brainer. He has been mature and hasn't complained at all about his contract. Reward him for being an elite player and a great teammate and for not being a distraction.

150 draft prospects threaten to boycott Combine
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's not true at all. Players' draft stocks have risen significantly after good combine performances. We all like to act like it doesn't happen, but it does. Some years more than others. Any chance these guys have to put more of themselves in front of NFL decision makers, the better for them. Obviously, this does not apply to guys with high first round grades, but every other player benefits from it. Wow. Good on the NFL to save these immature players from their own stupidity, then. Going out drinking and partying before the biggest job interview of their life and perhaps missing out on millions of dollars? -

MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like the medicals are what the NFLPA are opposed to, right? I think the interviews are valuable. Getting to sit each player down and run through plays and ask other questions. -
I was literally going to post this same thing. Nice.
