What Bengals & Chiefs fans are saying about the situation:
MJS replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can see that. But both coaches decided to suspend the game, and the officials were on board as well. So, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have the Bills forfeit. Either don't play the game at all and go by win percentage, or make up the game at a later date somehow. That's what makes sense to me. Now, if McDermott said at the time he was willing to forfeit the game if need be, and if that was the decision of the NFL he would accept that, it makes it a little different. But it seems like both coaches decided together to suspend the game and no talks of a forfeit was discussed. -
Yeah, I thought that was a strange comment. We've all seen it plenty of times. Now, CPR? That's something none of us have seen on an NFL field before, that I know of. Maybe he just meant the entire ordeal was something he hasn't seen before, not just the ambulance.

The Phins; from 8-3 to 8-8. An epic collapse
MJS replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
We called this. They had an epically easy schedule. Once it looked like it was going to get harder, many of us said they would look a lot worse and lose a bunch of games. -
Why Baltimore? We usually play Lamar Jackson really well.

Yeah, I agree. I am willing to throw the Dolphins and the independent observers under the bus as much as the next guy, but if Tua wasn't showing outward symptoms, and did not communicate that there was anything wrong, I'm not sure what you can do. Tua needs to be more honest and tell people when he isn't feeling right. Compare this to Mitch Morse, who actually listens to his body and communicates when he isn't right. He trusts the protocol and he gets back healthy each time. He doesn't try to play through it. Tua's teammates need to also speak up if they notice anything off about him in the huddle or on the field. They are closest to him and would be the one's to notice something wrong.

Man, Poyer has taken an absolute beating this year. Questionable again.

Bigger than the 4 superbowls the Bills went to? I don't think that's the case. I'd also put a bunch of playoff games above this one. Maybe you could make the case for the biggest regular season game.

Josh McDaniels doesn’t rule out benching Derek Carr

Why would you hate Kirk Cousins so much? -
Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson failing good for QB market.

Huh? Allen is widely praised by the media. The few who say anything negative are just doing it for the clicks. -
The Chiefs seem to muddle through the season and turn it on in the playoffs. Of course, they don't have Tyreek Hill anymore, so we'll see. But it would be foolish to think they are not one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL, if not THE most dangerous. But the Chiefs and Bengals feel the same way about the Bills too. All three teams know that the other two are going to be a huge challenge in the playoffs.

Rex Ryan attempted to trade EJ Manuel for Geno Smith in 2016(article)
MJS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Geno has had a terrible career up to this point. I think it's a wash. Bad QB class all around. I just don't think it matters. It happened to long ago. Why do we need to dispute these things? Nobody cares. -
Looks like Pro Football Reference updated Josh Allen's nicknames. They now list "General, JA17 or The Winter Soldier". So funny, because we were just talking about this. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm

White on White vs Bengals, primetime Uniform history added
MJS replied to Mr Wild's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love this combo. Would even be better with the throwback standing Buffalo helmets. -
Chris Simms says whoever Tre is covering will be open
MJS replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure, but it's not like they have the best run defense of all time. They are ranked in the top 10, but of course the Bills will be able to run it some of the time. Their defensive ends are banged up too. Try to get Cook going on the outside runs. Oh, it's the end of the world! The fastest player in the league scored a TD on Tre White! Hill does that to everyone. -

MJS replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
And why would the Bills not be able to run the ball against the Bengals? -
QB's took deep drop backs back then and threw the ball down the field. These days they are usually in shotgun and play the quick pass game more often. Quick passes have replaced some of the running game that was more prominent back then. More quick passes increases completion percentage. Plus, yeah, defenders were allowed to defend more back then.

1) Our receivers are mostly possession and route running receivers, not speed guys who can turn up field. 2) Defenses always have their eyes in the backfield against us because of the threat of Josh running. This hurts the screen and short passing game. 3) Josh Allen extends plays and waits for routes to develop. YAC usually comes from quick hitters. 4) Josh Allen takes fewer check downs than most QB's. Check downs usually get more YAC. 5) The receivers have more freedom to run routes in this offense. This means many times Josh has to wait and find them open, instead of throwing the ball to a precise spot every time. The freedom to run routes helps some things, hurts some others, such as YAC.

Singletary knows he doesn't have elite speed. He cut in because he thought he could maximize yardage that way. It was a split second decision, and maybe the wrong one. But he usually does a good job of maximizing his yardage and usually makes good decisions.

They certainly don't deserve to be first.

Russell Wilson and His Divisive Entourage
MJS replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is not uncommon for many of the big name players. When TO came to Buffalo I remember reading about the huge staff he had. But you have to back it up with results on the field. Otherwise your teammates will resent you. Just how it is. -
The Bills need to invest in the oline heavily, both veterans and draft picks. They need to bring in a better #2 receiver and preferably a better slot receiver as well, unless Shakir can develop into that role. On defense, just be sure to re-sign the defensive line. And re-sign Edmunds if you can afford him. Otherwise, MLB is a big hole that needs to be a major priority. But overall, the team is in a good spot. Beane has built in a lot of wiggle room in the cap and they have plenty they can free up. They have good starters in many positions, and lots of good depth. They have superstars in Allen, Diggs, and White, as well as budding stars in Rousseau and Oliver. This is the team we have been waiting for.
