  1. I occaisionally post at Jetsnation.com but not very often at all. I very frequently post on Orangemane.com ...a Broncos fansite... I am heavily involved over there...play in a couple of their fantasy leauges...and I troll them HARD. I came here after the Mahomes trade to kind of see how things would go on this side of the trade....and I've ended up liking it here...good group....lots of high quality posters here. I've kind of adopted the Bills as something of a second team....really enjoy watching you guys....and even though my mind says no...I am rooting for Josh Allen...I like him. He's fun to watch...he IS athletic and compelling. Also....before it comes up for the millionth time. I am not Jeffismagic.
  2. Again...adding to keep all my draft prognostications in one spot. Todays thought. the Raiders aren't going to do anything special at 4. Why announce it? What the Raiders really want is to draw any team interested in Haskins, into a deal up to 2 or 3 ahead of them...Haskins goes off the board, and that gives the Raiders one more of the elite defenders to choose from....quite possibly They are looking at Quinnen Williams...and to get the Niners off of him....they need someone to come up for Haskins. It won't work. No one is coming up. Niners take williams. Jets go with Oliver. The Raiders take Josh Allen...the pass rusher Josh Allen. ....and my Mock already gets one demerit for KC trading out of round 1 in the Frank Clark deal. I'm also not feeling good about having Montez Sweat at 5......that may end up looking really bad.
  3. Probably the most overlooked aspect of this is health. You ponited out we let Houston and Ford go....I think you got the money part wrong. Houston would have cost 21 Million this year, and Ford on a Franchise tag would have been 15. That's 36 Million. Anyhow...Ford, Houston (and Eric Berry) have been WAY too unavailable the last few years. Nothing is guarnateed....Clark could get hurt...but given that Ford and Houston have often been Hurt and Clark hasn't been...is a big factor in all this. I can't stress this enough either...to move up from 29 to say 21 for example, and select Clelin Ferrel..would COST MORE in draft compensation than the trade for proven Clark just did. KC is in a win now mode. I see some have suggested that we might be missing out on a good safety or corner at 29......well...of course we COULD be...but frankly, the probability of hitting that isn't very high..especially that far down...At this time in the roster development of Kc....this was the right move. One more VERY IMPORTANT distinction being missed here... KC had BY FAR the most pass attempts against. KC tied pittsburg for most sacks in the NFL with 52 each. The thing no one mentions is that Pittsburg got to 52 in FAR FAR fewer opertunities than KC did....in fact, when you look at Sacks per pass attempt, KC was VERY AVERAGE. If team A gets to rush the passer 1000 times, and team B only got to rush the passer 500 times...and both end up with 50 sacks..Team B was the better pass rushing team. Surface stats for Ford and KC's pass rush in general would lead you to believe that the pass rush was elite....it was good..but not elite. KC's run defense was putrid. Dee Ford is a putrid run defender....KC is trying to improve the run defense while maintaining a threatening pass rush...this move was made with that in mind.
  4. I cant say if this is the right deal, but I do understand what they are doing here. It’s importantvto note that Clark has been healthy and reliable over the course of his time in the NFL. Ford has not been. Had the one really good year in a contract year. Also, it’s always worth asking, take last years pick 29 and a random late 20s 2nd and find a combo that equals Frank Clark. It’s hard to do.
  5. 1. Sad to say, 85% of Chiefs fans dont understand the cap and also way over value draft choices. Ok. Some of you here have correctly identified that KC is taking advantage of Mahomes rookie deal. This is exactly what you do when you have a franchise QB playing for pennies. The compensation is this years 1st and one of our 2020 2nds. that equates to about pick 24 in terms of trade chart value. highly unlikely KC could move up to 24 and get a Frank Clark caliber player. The compensation is high, but again, what good is cap space due to the rookie QBs deal unless you use it? last thought, Dee Ford had exactly one good season. He’s often hurt and he is awful.....dreadfully awful against the run. KC has changed schemes and this is a better fit. Besides being a very good pass rusher, Clark is a very good run defender and edge setter. Dee Ford simply isn’t that guy. Ford is really good at what he does, and has value but Clark is better. Seattle, conversely with Wilson now being highly paid, has to build with cheap talent in the draft. When Mahomes gets paid, KC will be in same boat.
  6. I don't think that is the lesson. Under the circumstances....when you have a lame duck GM....and a new HC only on the job a short time prior to the draft...you probably don't have the best organized draft board....BUT forget that for a moment...they traded out of 10 because the powers that be drafting weren't sold on what was there at 10 anymore than they were sold on what was at 27. That is a GREAT time to trade out....and given that you got Tre White....who was as good as Lattimore means you had made the right choice as far as knowing you could get equal talent later AND add some draft capital. More is actually made of this than need be...the lesson that needed to be learned was by Mr. Pegula....and that was don't stumble and staggar your way through a firing/hiring cycle like he did. I think he probably learned that lesson. Going and getting Josh Allen also showed the team, once the whole staff was together and on the same page...was all about addressing the QB situation because the 2018 draft and events/trades leading to it...were all about fixing your QB spot. If Mahomes was just an average guy....or even just a good QB in the top 10...NO ONE would ever bring this up...and if they did, it would be to heap praise on McD (and maybe Whaley) for astutely getting extra picks AND identifiying a great DB at pick 27. If you have identified a talent that you can't get later, when you have a top 10 pick...you keep the pick and select that player....if you have identified players outside the top 10, top 20...and you can get trade out and get them while adding draft capital....you do that.
  7. Here is my first AND LAST Mock Draft. I don't like these much...too many variables involved to make anything close to a reasonable predictions....and since the nature of these is that most of it looks wrong and silly 10 picks in or less....these make me look bad! But....anyone who does these typically look bad also....so here is my best attempt at only looking marginally stupid. Again...putting this here in this one thread, so easily referred to later. Mock Draft 1. Arizona Cardinals Kyler Murray QB Arizona gets the one QB in this draft class that projects out to a possible generational talent 2. San Francisco 49ers Quinnen Williams DL The 49ers go best player available here and get Williams to bolster the interior D line. 3. New York Jets Ed Oliver DL The first big surprise of the draft, the Jets don’t take an edge rusher and instead opt for Oliver, a favorite of new D coordinator Gregg Williams 4. Oakland Raiders Josh Allen Edge The Raiders were dead last in sacks with 13. There is nowhere to go but up and this pick should help 5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Montez Sweat Edge The Buccs will strongly consider Devin White here, but ultimately can not pass up Sweat, whose heart condition makes him a gamble, but who is otherwise a bonifide grade A prospect. 6. New York Giatns Rashan Gary Edge No! They aren’t taking a QB here! This QB class is garbage after Murray, and Dave Gettleman wants to prove all his critics wrong about his team building philosophy. Gettleman gets his defense a pass rusher here that is in line with his style 7. Jacksonville Jaguars Jawaan Taylor OT The Jags, on top of being a fairly conservative team on draft day, with an old school team president and philosophy, also have a tendancy to draft local products. Taylor fits that, plus he fills a huge need. 8. Detroit Lions Nick Bosa Edge The Lions are ecstatic that a prospect as well regarded as Bosa falls all the way to 8 for them! In typical Lions fashion, Bosa goes on to be a bust. 9. Buffalo Bills T.J. Hockenson TE The first skill position player off the board isn’t a WR or RB…but a TE. The success or failure of the Bills rides on QB Josh Allen…and the Bills don’t have anything close to resembling a threat at TE. Hockenson gives them a day 1 starter and major target for Allen 10. Denver Broncos Devin White LB The Broncos ARE NOT TAKING A QB! (at least not high in this draft) They hired an old D minded coach, and traded for the QB the coach asked for. Elway and Fangio have both made clear that Flacco IS the plan, not a bridge. Broncos get the ILB that Fangio craves to make his D run at peak levels. 11. Cincinnatti Bengals Dwayne Haskins QB The third surprise of the draft after Oliver goes early and Bosa falls…is Haskins going here to the Bengals. New Offensive minded HC. Dalton wasn’t extended and can be cut anytime with no dead money. The Bengals also need a spark for the fans and what better way to do that than draft a Buckeye QB? 12. Green Bay Packers Jonah Williams OT The Packers will be looking to trade out of this spot, but won’t find any takers. (that’s right…Drew Lock is STILL on the board and no one is coming up here for him) The Packers generally like to take lineman early as opposed to skill position players and Williams is the pick here. 13. Miami Dolphins Brian Burns Edge Many will be surprised that the seemingly QB needy Dolphins don’t go QB here….DREW LOCK is on the board!!! They are content to blow up their roster this year and eat cap space while rebuilding. They aren’t drafting a marginal QB prospect to sit when they need players. They go with local product Burns and will push the QB decision down the road when better prospects come along. 14. Atlanta Falcons Christian Wilkins IDL The Falcons will be staring at the phone hoping it will ring with someone on the other end wanting to move up ahead of the Redskins for a QB. No one does. The Falcons take Wilkins as BPA on their board. 15. Washington Redskins Marquise Brown WR Wait…what? NO QB HERE!!!! That’s right…the Redskins front office and coaching staff are on the hot seat to win now. They aren’t going to be afforded the luxury of taking a marginal QB prospect who will sit. They instead get an electric playmaker to help right away. 16. Carolina Panthers Cody Ford OT The Panthers could do any number of things here, and with no trade partner, they opt to beef up the O-line with a mild surprise here with Ford. 17. New York Giants Andre Dillard OT WHAT!!!!! STILL NOT A QB?!! Gettleman isn’t swallowing his pride and he has a big grin on his face as he gets his “top OT on my board” Dillard. Gettleman is going to out-Line everyone in the NFL! 18. Minnesota Vikings Greedy Williams CB The Vikings don’t really need a CB, but in todays NFL, can you ever really have enough of them? No one wants to move up here and so the Vikings go BPA on their board and take Williams 19. Tennessee Titans Noah Fant TE The Titans aren’t quite ready to give up on Marcus Mariotta just yet, and certainly aren’t giving up on him picking 19th with this QB class. The Titans have a need for a dynamic receiving TE and get their man here in Fant. 20. Pittsburg Steelers Devin Bush LB I could see the Steelers going with a CB here, but they stick with their board and go Bush who fills a need as well. 21. Seattle Seahawks Byron Murphy CB The Seahawks are pleased when BPA on their board and local product Murphy falls in their lap here. 22. Baltimore Ravens DK Metcalf WR The Ravens WR group may well be the weakest in the NFL, and giving scattershot QB Jackson a BIG TALL FAST target to sling the ball toward is not a bad way to go. Gives the Ravens and Jackson a legit threat in the red zone or to go deep. 23. Houston Texans Johnathan Abram S The Texans have a number of holes to consider filling here. They also could use help at offensive line but the top safety on their board and in this class is available to them here and having lost out on the Honey Badger, fill that hole with Abram. 24. Oakland Raiders DeAndre Baker CB The Raiders can go BPA at just about any point and find someone they have a spot for and who can start. Baker fits that here. Some have him as the 1st or 2nd best CB in this class. 25. Philadelphia Eagles Nasir Adderley S Philly gets their man out of their own backyard to fill a position of need by taking fast rising Adderley. 26. Indianapolis Colts Jerry Tillery IDL The Colts get another Notre Dame product for the line at a position of need for a team that needs more push in the pass rush. 27. Oakland Raiders A.J. Brown WR The Raiders end up with TWO A.Browns at WR as they take the Mississippi product here. Again, the Raiders are needy everywhere and go BPA. 28. Los Angeles Chargers Dexter Lawrence IDL The Chargers have one of the deeper rosters in the league and in this deep draft, land a big talent here in Lawrence. 29. Kansas City Garrett Bradbury C KC will explore trading out of the first round hoping for one of the QB needy teams who passed earlier, to come up for Drew Lock. No dice. KC stays put and selects Bradbury who will start at C from day 1. 30. Green Bay Chauncy Gardner-Johnson S Like KC, The Packers will listen in vain for a trade partner wanting Drew Lock or some other QB. The call won’t come. They take a safety to fill a hole. 31. Los Angeles Rams Clelin Ferrell Edge The Rams roster is in flux due to the cap catching up to them. They need to have reinforcements ready to go. 32. New England Patriots Rock Ya-Sin The Patriots, hoping that the Broncos, Dolphins or Giants actually want one of these garbage QB try and use the force to make the phone ring. Belichick can’t quite conjure up the power needed to make it happen. The Patriots stay put and draft Rock Ya-Sin…the Pats are always looking for good DB and they get one here.
  8. From what I have read, the Texans, who were also all over Mahomes, didn't think Mahomes would go early. Once Trubiksy AND Mahomes had come off the board, it was reported that Texans owner Bob McNair told GM Rick Smith to do whatever it took to get Watson. Houston, as many will recall, had been a playoff team with a very good roster that had always been missing the QB since the franchise began. Even though the draft room wasn't especially excited about it...they were forced into it by the owner......and given that they had missed the first 2, and even not really liking Watson...Watson has in fact been the franchise QB Houston was lacking. Not a bad consolation prize. Here is the Houston War Room as they were drafting Watson....Rick Smith either just farted.....or he's the only happy guy in the room about getting Watson.
  9. I was just reading through that 2018 QB projection thread....Jay Fix It has some GOLD in there.
  10. Figured it out. Name updated. Also...wanted to put this here so I can find it and refer to it much more easily. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE! ...This was written almost 3 months BEFORE the 2018 Draft.
  11. Go back a page...pictures there. How do I change my name?.
  12. Again...just posting my draft thoughts here so I can find them easily when I need to refer to them later... Bosa is going to be a bust. I've watched some film and here is what I think. If he doesn't succeed with that first "swipe" then he's done. NFL caliber offensive lineman are going to be able to control and contain Bosa consistantly. Bosa MUST win with his hands right away to gain the advantage he needs to be effective as a pass rusher. He is otherwise limited due to his relatively short arms. Throw in that he already has back problems.....that says BUST to me. I think whoever gets him, will be dissappointed how often he can't win against good NFL caliber linemen.
  13. ....this whole thing was discussed alot last year.... Here is a reminder of how that all went down. 1. Whaley was going to be fired, and McDermott had only been on the job for a month. McD was running the draft, BUT, he hadn't had time to evaluate the QB's himself AND he wasn't going to draft one until the NEW GM was in place so they could scout and discuss together. Whaley was retained through draft day to provide scouting reports etc and run the nuts and bolts..but this was McD's draft. ...I can't emphasize enough that Whaley was on the way out..and MCD wasn't taking a QB that he hadn't evaluated to stake his reputation on, and his job on....and wasn't about to do that with with a GM on his way out. 2. It is a FACT that the Saints were going to draft Mahomes at 11 if he was there. Sean Payton has said as much...and on draft day itself, Jordan Speith, the professional golfer, who was in attendance in the Saints war room, tweeted that Mahomes was going to be the pick. 3. was never really confirmed, but it was rumored that Whaley wanted to in fact draft Mahomes...but again, he was on the way out and it wasn't his call....don't even know for sure if this is true. 4. was rumored that Terry Pegula liked Mahomes...but deffered to his new coach....Pegula, more than anyone is to blame IF you into assigning blame for missing on Mahomes...The front office dynamic created by Pegula prior to the 2017 NFL Draft...was NEVER going to produce a QB as a draft pick. See point 1 again for why. The facts alone are enough to absolve Whaley of blame for missing on Mahomes......and it technically falls on McD because he was running the draft, but you can't blame him for passing at QB when he'd only been on the job a month...is a defensive minded coach...and wasn't comfortable taking a QB he hadn't evaluated, etc. The trade made alot of sense to a new guy, who didn't have anywhere enough information available to him to draft a QB....to go ahead and move down, and get that extra 1st and 3rd for him and the next GM to work with. It's pretty clear that if anyone is to blame, it's Pegula. His process of firing/hiring put the team at a disadvantage on draft day.
  14. Josh Allen improves his completion PCT by 3 points....going up to 59-60% Unfortunately, his improvement doesn't translate into a better record. The Bills actually go 4-12 as the defense slips slightly from last years stellar performance. Fans and Front office alike realize using ancient running backs wasn't a good idea. Hope abounds as team heads into the offseason determined to upgrade the RB position, and another expected step forward for Allen.
  15. I am boldly predicting only TWO first round QB. Murray at 1 to AZ and Haskins at 11 to Cincy.
  16. Just putting this here so I can refer back to all my prediction and analysis in one spot. Quarterbacks.....I think many have missevaluated the QB position as it pertains to where these guys will be drafted because the last 3 classes have produced so well. I think that people are assuming there must be 3 or 4 good QB in a class now just because that has been the recent trend. What I think people have completely missed is that teams are evaluating the position more accurately. That has coincided with the last 3 classes having good QB's in them. 2016. First Round.GOFFWENTZ Lynch2017. First RoundTRUBISKYMAHOMESWATSON2018 First RoundMAYFIELDDARNOLD?ALLEN?ROSEN?JACKSON?Every player on this list except Lynch is their teams starter. Rosen technically is...but will be traded and is considered a good prospect still. All 5 from the 2016 and 2017 have already played in at least one playoff game. Without going too deep, you could make a reasonable argument that all 5 of those QB's were absolutely correct choices, who had, for the most part, been correctly evaluated by the teams who took them. You can make a very strong case that none are busts. You can make a decent case that all 5 2018 QB's have worked out so far (I would argue that isn't quite the case yet, but for this argument, I'm going with the thought these guys are considered legit) If you believe, as I do, that teams have in fact, improved at their evaluation of the QB position, AND you believe that this group isn't that good. ( I think it's a poor group after Murray) Then, to me, that means these QB's are going to fall farther than people think. Denver...I..Elway has CORRECTLY evaluated this draft class as far as QB goes. His coaching hire also is a STRONG indication that Elway still believes that he has a good roster that needs better coaching and simply, average QB play to win. He didn't hire Vic Fangio to develop a drafted QB. Fangio is going to win with Defense and Flacco or he is getting fired and the next coach gets to develop the drafted QBOTF that would come later on. I believe ALL QB will be on the board at 10 when Denver picks...they won't have a trade partner, and will stay there and select a defender. The one team poised to actually take their next QB right now is the Bengals. New offensive minded coach. No extension for Dalton. Dalton can be cut anytime with no dead money right now. The Bengals are prone to doing things to sell tickets. Haskins makes sense for these reasons. The other surprises here are going to be the teams eveyrone thinks will go QB and they are will not be. The Giants have Dave Gettleman....who is bound and determined to prove everyone wrong about his drafting philosphy......If they don't take a QB at 6 (they won't) then they aren't taking one at 17 either. I can't see Gettleman liking any of these guys enough to swallow his pride and stake his reputation on. His odds of hitting on a defender at 6 and maybe a WR at 17, are alot better than hitting on a QB (especially this year) He'll be able to show his detractors that he was right to take the guys he took and they'll go forward another year with Eli.The Redskins are going to roll with Keenum and McCoy. The Redskins are NOT going to give this front office and coaching staff the benefit of more time that you'd get with a new QB to develop. They need to win now and they have some good pieces on D. They'll take a player who can help now....that isn't one of these iffy QBs. The Dolphins are an enigma. They are rolling with Fitz. They are reportedly going to consider this year a tank/blow up year. They did hire a new coach, so the grace etc needed for the new QB that new coaches gets, exists here. I don't see them considering themselves as ready to draft a QB now. I think they want to get through this year of cap hell and blow up the roster and see how next years class shakes out. No reason to start your rebuild with a QB who they won't start, and have no confidence in starting. That leaves late round trade ups to consider....Lock will be a juicy target for someone perhaps later....but with the depth of defensive and TE talent in this draft...I can see no moves back into round 1 for Lock, Jones or anyone else. The class just isn't that good, and the circumstances of the teams who are percieved to need QB's aren't aligned with a desperation move....combine that with what I believe are improved scouting efforts and you have a 1st round that has TWO Qb's drafted.
  17. Quite possibly nothing at all. No one knows at this point. All anyone can say (and what is reported) is that Hill's child is in state custody due to an ongoing investigation about abuse in the home involving his 3 year old son, and that Hill has made appearances in court related to this matter. .....If Hill had no prior history, he be given the benefit of the doubt....because of his prior conviction, he isn't being given that....and in my opionion....this is a bad look no matter what because you have a fiance, who you have the kid with...and she is pregant with his twins right now. He is approaching the big payday...ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS KEEP YOUR **** TOGETHER and he's getting paid. If Hill wasn't the perpatrator, and he's been with this woman a long time and knows her well, and is engaged to her....you'd think at some point that they might have discussed perhaps....you know....not doing anything that might cause people to be suspicious of them enough to have TWO separate police reports filed and concering authorities enough to remove the child from the home....you'd think the two of them could hold it together at least long enough to cash in.....but no.
  18. He was already convicted of choking and punching a pregnant woman in the stomach....so he gets a second chance in KC....he technically hasn't done anything wrong. He also is an NFL player who plays for a team that just released Kareem Hunt for arguably much less, and who was NEVER CHARGED. I would prefer to keep Hill. As I said..GREAT PLAYER...but how can you sign the guy to an extension at this point when he is quite possibly subject to the whim of Roger Goodells morality at any given moment now?
  19. They also drafted Kareem Hunt knowning he had some issues in college...he has continued to have some issues....and even though he was NEVER CHARGED, the Chiefs released him, and the NFL suspended him 8 games. Roger Goodell (and Clark Hunt, Chiefs chairman) don't need a conviction etc to take action. I really really hope that this whole thing comes out as some rediculous coincidence the kid broke his arm falling off the slide at daycare while Tyreek was out of town or something. Unless there is solid proof that this whole thing is just a misunderstanding...there is no way he gets and extension here (in KC)
  20. ....as I said in my post...by law, in Kansas, ANY case/report of child endangerment, abuse, and/or neglect that goes to court..REQUIRES both biological parents to attend court appearances. Hill, being the biological father of the child, therefore is required to attend court hearings about this case and he therefore has been in court regarding this case. If you don't live in KC where this whole thing has been discussed ad naseum, and you don't have all the details..this looks REALLY Bad....basically as a national storty it looks like this....Tyreek Hills child taken into state custody due to charges of child abuse. Hill appears in court. The whole thing is still awful, but without all the details, it sounds and seems even worse.
  21. ....here is my perspective as a KC fan.....and I am telling you all now....my opinion on this isn't a popular one among Chiefs fans...but this may help offer some clarifacation.. Back in January/February....a couple of police reports were filed regarding Hills 3 year old son. The first one was dropped with no charges filed and the second one doesn't name Hill, but rather his fiance (and mother of his child) Apparently, the second report has to do with an incident that resulted in the 3 year old childs arm being broken. The authorities in KS, opted to have the child removed from the home. It's important from a legal standpoint (not a football standpoint, I'll get to that) to understand that in kansas, having a child removed from a home doesn't consitute guilt or innocence of parents/guardians...it's done as a precaution for the safety of the child until the matter is sorted out. It is also important to note that in Kansas, when these happen, the biological parents of the child must both appear in court, even if one isn't named as a perp...or if one isn't the custodial parent...if your name is on the birth certificate, you are required to appear. Now....given that.....Hills child is in the custody of the state. Both Hill and the child mother appeared in court per Kansas Law. Hill wasn't named in the report. Those are the facts. That said...the situation is that KC Drafted Hill, who had been convicted of punching his then pregnant fiance (this is the same woman listed in child abuse report) in the belly and choking her. He was on many teams DO NOT DRAFT list. KC took him the 5th round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The front office took a lot of heat for the pick at the time. Andy Reid held a post draft press conference and assured the media that they had done their homework on Hill and that he would be a good dude going forward. Not too long ago, a local TV station even did a feature on Hill and his Fiance showing them at an amusement park with the son and that they are still engaged and she is now pregnant with twins. Hunt had his issues and was released. Now Hills Child, is in state custody...alledgly, Hill wasn't even in town when the second report was filed and again, only names the fiance as an involved party. STILL...this is a horrible horrible look for Hill and the Chiefs...they took him in the draft with an obvious red flag...promised he'd be good. They had the whole Hunt thing happen and released Hunt for lying to the team. Even if Hill was not directly involved in the incident...this is a HORRIBLE look for him. You are Tyreek Hill. You got drafted in the 5th round because you were convicted of a horrible violent act. You land on a good team with a good offensive coach. Knowing that extra eyes will always be on you, AND approaching your BIG PAYDAY...you find you are associated with a child abuse issue and your kid is in state custody. ....There is no way KC can or will sign him to an extension (this is the part unpopular with my fellow Chiefs fans) You already set a precedent by cutting Hunt, (who was never charged with anything) and now you have Hill, already convicted of horrible things, being now mentioned and heavily associated with horrible things he may or may not have directly been responsible for. Chiefs fans keep looking at this as a legal matter and that if/when Hill is cleared, it's all over, we can go back to worrying with football etc and Hill will get his extension...bla bla bla. There is NO WAY KC is going to give a guaranteed mega signing bonus to a guy who is THISCLOSE to being the next dude on Roger Goodells list. Hill is a GREAT WR. He is the fastest man in pads I've ever seen. He takes hits, runs good routes, can leap, gets separatoin, returns kicks and comes up big in big spots...and he's a good teammate by all accounts and not an A-hole Diva type. He's everything you'd want on the field. Personally, I don't care...Just move on already...I don't want, and don't need a guy who has punched and choked a pregnant woman....who can't keep his domestic life on the up and up, having been given a great second chance....on my team. Frankly...when you have Mahomes....moving on from Hill isn't that hard. If you take away ALL of Hills catches, TD's Yards etc..AND you assume NO ONE would have made up even a single catch TD, or yard...Mahomes still would have led the NFL in TD throws, and remained top 10 in yards and completions. I can't say what will happen, but I suspect the team IS looking to trade him and at minimum, won't offer an extension.
  22. Exactly right. This story is even from a Chiefs writer. I’m a huge KC fan but my god, we have some of the dumbest people covering the team and frankly, the dumb writers are at least smart enough to understand the dumb audience they are trying to reach. I’ve never seen a fan base as bad as KCs fan base, about wanting to sign ANYONE, ANYONE, whose name they heard somewhere before. Doesn’t matter who is on the roster already, and doesn’t matter thatva salary cap exists.....I promise, you go to any of the Chiefs fan pages on Facebook right now and you will find this exact quote “Carlos Williams is a BEAST! We should sign him!
  23. The situation is highly unusual....but....there probably haven't been this set of circumstances come along in a long time, if ever. Team takes a QB in round 1 but he is the 4th QB off the board, he lands on a team that has a 1st year coach....the OC is run out of town in a hurry and the replacement OC doesn't do much better.....you finish with the 1st overall pick....AND there is a QB that the CARDINALS FO (wich is who matters in this case) beleives is a game changer/generational type talent.... You have fired the coach and staff from the year before and you hired a coach whose sole qualifications thus far is that he has HC experience, is a proven architecht of a system that has produced a couple of STAR NFL QB (Mahomes, Mayfield) and the guy avialable at 1, is of that system. The Cardinals are not looking at this in the sense that "we have a QB we took at 1 last year". Throw that out the window...they DO NOT CARE...and it does not matter where they took Josh Rosen...that is a sunk cost..... The choice the Cardinals have...and this is how they are veiwing it...(and they've made the choice already) is we could stick with Rosen.....we have tape on him..he was here for a year...he's under contract. Or we could choose this other QB who we believe (key word..BELIEVE) is a generational talent. This is not even a choice.....if you believe a guy is a generational talent at QB...and you also believe the guy you have is NOT one...you take the generational talent every single time. That isn't saying Murray will be a star, or that Rosen won't be....I am saying Arizona brass beleives Murray will be a star. There isn't a trade package anyone could offer the Cardinals right now to move out of that pick. Bufallo could offer their next 10 1st rounders and Arizona isn't moving. ....again...it's becasue they believe Murray to be a generational type talent. Now....we'll see how it actually works out...I personally think this the right move for AZ..I think Murray is going to be very good.......certainly better than Rosen.
  24. The market for Rosen will be there. I think the Chargers will offer a 2. They have a solid roster, in win now mode and need a QB to be ready to replace Rivers. The Chargers, being a good football team, would have a hard time getting into the top 10 of a draft anytime soon to take a good one. Any guy they would take in round 2 this year, probably wouldn't start for them anyhow....why not burn a 2 on an LA kid, and be ready to go for the looming decline of Rivers? In the case of the Redskins waning interest..you have a different dynamic to consider...that coaching staff and front office KNOW they are in a win now kind of mode...They need impact players NOW to win now. The coach and GM do not have time to put the team in Rosens hands and develope him...either they win now with Keenum, or a new regime comes in and they get to find and develop a new QB. I think the Patriots would be a good spot to consider as well. I would think they'd be all about it, but I really believe that in defference to Brady, they will just roll with Hoyer as the backup until Brady goes. Brady seems to want no one waiting in line behind him so he can literally go out when he's good and ready and not being pushed out. Miami should be interested, but not sure they will be. Wouldn't hurt to get him and see what they have..and if he busts..they follow through with their plans anyhow. The Giants should be the most obvious team out there to want Rosen...but gettleman WILL NOT suddenly eat his words and admit errors....everything he has done is in the interest of continuing with Eli....he wasn't interested in Darnold, Allen, Rosen, Jackson etc when he just could have flat out had any of them...that isn't changing.....He's committed to Eli. A couple of very wild cards would be Seattle and Detroit. If you are either of those 2, and you aquire Rosen, you then could trade your starter and build. This would seem to make more sense in Detroit....I can't see Seattle fans ever liking Rosen if it meant trading away Wilson....
