  1. ....Maybe I should have worded this better....but Brady and Belichic were together just a year and won their first super bowl. That's what I'm talking about....No coach and QB ever paired up has gone more than 5 years without a SB win, and THEN won it in later years. If your coach and QB hasn't gotten it done after 5 years together, in history, none ever have. This will be McDermott and Allens 6th season as a QB/Coach pairing.
  2. Also worth noting.....NEVER has a coach / QB combo that had been together more than 5 years, ever won the Super Bowl. If McDermott and Allen were to win one at this point, it would be the first time a QB/Coach pairing that had been together 6 years or more, won it all. It's kind of weird to say McDermott, head of a very good team, is on the hot seat, but in reality, the situation of being all in, and not getting over the hump so far....it might be McDermotts last shot before maybe you put a new set of eyes and ideas around Allen and see what happens.
  3. Where is the write up and rationale for this pick?
  4. quick question.....do the picks get posted in this thread or a separate thread?
  5. Chiefs are targeting a certain player. If he makes it to about 19-20, Ill be looking to move up.
  6. Who is getting all the hype that isn't deserving? Who is destined for a bad situation never to live up to their potential? Who just plain sucks? Make your call here. 1. CJ Stroud. QB, Ohio St. He played great VS Georgia, but I see the same one read guy that Ohio St. always has throwing to NFL WR's behind and NFL line. 2. Tyree Wilson. Edge, Texas Tech. I just don't see it. For being the size and measurables he is, that guy should have been killing it in college. 3. Peter Skoronski. OT, Northwestern. I'm not guying that he can play LT with his T rex arms. I'll believe it when I see it. I wouldn't risk a top 10 pick to find out. 4. Darnell Wright OT, Tennessee. This one is more situational than others..but he needs to be on a run heavy team IMO. I'm not sold on his pass blocking as a LT in the NFL. 5. Adetomiwa Adebawore, DL, Northwestern. Pains me to say it becasue he's a Kansas City kid, but dude was destined for 4th or 5th round until the combine. Workout warrior. 6. Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon St. Will join a long list of athletic TE who actually were never good at plaing TE but get drafted like they are. 7. Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota St. Getting WAY too much hype. Played small school that RUNS most of the time. This is not an NFL caliber pass blocker.
  7. Sleepers 1. Carter Warren - OT - Pitt Experienced starter that can play both right and left side. MASSIVE wingspan. Season cut short by injury... 2. Eli Ricks - CB - Alabama. Immature kid, but loads of talent with speed, ball skills and 6'3. LATE deep sleepers - 1. Cooper Hodges - OT - Appalachian St. Highest graded RIGHT tackle in FBS. Flies under the radar becasue of smaller school and not LT. 2. Desjuan Johnson - DL - Toledo. Very producitve versatile Dlineman from the MAC. not getting the hype he would if he was at a bigger school 3. Khalef Hailassie - CB - Western Kentucky. Transfered from Oregon. Physical, gifted CB...that you've never heard of. 4. Jerrick Reed II - S - New Mexico. Solid overall safety, with experience and decent measurables.
  8. 1. Christopher Smith, S, Georgia 2. Juice Scruggs, C, Penn St.
  9. Chiefs Broncos Rams But heart has been set on Chiefs since I inquired about this a while back.
  10. Chiefs if they are available Would you be willing to allow me to have the Chiefs?
  11. That isn't a typo. Josh Allen is elite now. Diggs served his purpose, much like Tyreek Hill served his in Kansas City. They gave shooting star QB's reliable, talented targets they could confidently throw to, helping to establish confidence and develop the QB's mental game. Hill complained after being traded (at least he watied to make this public when he was already gone) that he wasn't being focused on enough, or getting enough targets...etc. The Chiefs traded him away, used the assets and cap space to improve other parts of the team, AND then went out and performed even better on offense. I strongly believe that a reason why this happend is becasue Mahomes was entirely free to run each and every play with the idea that making the most optimal throw is what mattered. Not to massage an ego or placate a guy wanting a larger role etc. You can make a strong case KC's WR room isn't any great shakes. I'd agree with that. They don't need to be. Zach Wilson isn't our QB....and he's not the Bills QB either. Josh Freaking Allen is. Allen doesn't need elite, high cots WR's to shine now. I know the Bills are committed to this season as an all in, all chips to the middle of the table type season....that's fine. I wouldn't even say that it's a bad idea....but I think it would be better if you moved Diggs for all you could possibly get, go sign a couple vets who need to prove it, who have maybe some low self esteem because they've fallen out of favor due to injury etc....get a couple mid level guys who you know are good pros. Let ALLEN run the team.. let HIM dictate the best place for the ball to go. It's his job to run as efficient, well managed offense as he possibly can....not make sure pouting WR's see the ball X number of times a game. Use the resources to add to your team in areas that Allen doesn't directly impact, like the defense etc. If the guys work out...they move on, sign big deal somewhere else...and you reload with a couple more dudes who need to prove it again. There is never a shortage of these guys and they overplay their contracts consistantly. Plus, you'll be supplimenting these WR's with WR's you draft who are cheap and cost controlled. ALLEN is it. He's why you are 3rd best odds to win Super Bowl this upcoming season.. LEAN INTO IT.
  12. He's not. KC isn't going to trade high draft picks and pick up that contract. I assure you, KC isn't his destination. The only vet WR KC is in on, is OBJ...and that's only if they can wait him out and get him cheap.
  13. I'm going to agree with the long term builder stance on this. IF you believe...as I do...that ALLEN is the big driver behind the Bills being a Super Bowl contender, and not the roster around him...(It's ALLEN) then you ought to be looking at every single season as a shot to win a trophy and not loading up for one year. I also agree though, that since the chips are already forward on Miller, etc....that since youa re committed to an all in type sceanrio, committ all the way. I still think even given this, that Hopkins costs too much for what you get. I'd wait until the Cards come off the high asking price at least.
  14. Watkins was injury prone....and remained so in KC. He cost a ton and we didn't even have to give up draft capital for him. Mahomes was every bit as good in games with him as without him. That money would have been better spent elswhere. Hopkins is a 10 year vet who has been a great player....but he's missed 11 games to injury the last 2 years and his YAC has been declining recently. He's best knowns a a contested catch guy, but those numbers in sutations regarded as contested throws, have also been in decline. I'm not saying Hopkins can't help. He's still got gas in the tank....but for what his contract is, plus the draft picks. NOT WORTH IT. you aren't getting any kind of big ROI on this at all.
  15. The Bills should move to Toronto ***DUCKS and runs out the door as quickly as possible***
  16. From the outside looking in.... Hopkins for the Bills....would be alot like when KC signed Sammy Watkins. That contract was way too much, and it really wasn't needed. Could the Bills use some help in the WR room? Sure...but I can't stress this enough....Josh Allen is the rare QB who elevates whoever is out there and spending a TON on Hopkins isn't going to improve Allen or your offenses stats in any way that would be remotely close to to being worth Hopkins contract and whatever draft picks you give up. The Bills still sit at 3rd best SB win odds as we sit here after FA, and pre draft. Thats Allen. Hopkins would NOT move the needle. If you are going to invest some draft capital at WR, you'd be much better off trying to haggle with the Broncos over Juedy. 2 years of cost control for a player who has suffered from CRAP coaching and CRAP QB play....metrics say his YAC and separation are GREAT. That should be your target.
  17. I assure you...KC was never really in. Whatever reported interest KC has had, was nothing more than KC just doing due diligence and kicking tires. My source is Me and MATH. I hate LAZY reporters who can't comprehend the cap. KC has 6 million in cap space....you wanna know if KC is in on something? They'll announce a Chris Jones contract extension that frees up cap space. Until then KC isn't in on anything where they have to assume some crap contract. Also.... KC isn't going to get 50% more production from their WR room by spending 50% more on it. the ROI isn't there.
  18. KC wouldn't be in at the current asking price and cap number...so no need to worry about the Chiefs here. I know they were rumored to be interested...KC is rumored to be interested in every WR. Having just had a season as the no.1 scoring O and won a super bowl with a hodge podge of WR, KC is gonig to roll with a roster building strategy of low cost WR options and use resources on areas that Mahomes can't directly impact as much or at all. Not saying I wouldn't like Hopkins on the Chiefs...certainly i would but not for what AZ is asking and definitely not at his current salary.
  19. Allbright has been fairly well connected to Buffalo sources over the last few years, but just as a cautionary tale....ever since the new owners took over in Denver, Ben has been wrong A LOT about Broncos stuff....and he works for the team. Seems like his new bosses have been feeding that guy bad info, intentionally, he runs out to twitter with it, then 15 minutes later, something completely contrary to what he's reported happens and he has to retract/walk back his tweets. Doesn't mean he is wrong on Hopkins or that he still doesn't have some good connections with Bills people...but at least in Denver, he's been having a rough rough go of it since the start of last season.
  20. I want to clarify.....when I say the Denver folks woulnd't be interested.....it's not because any of them have some strong opinion about Oliver....he's on the last year of a contract, which dimineshes trade value...and alot (but not all) think Juedy has been hindered by QB play and organizational disfunction....and he has a couple controllable years left. Oliver isn't a valuable asset to the Broncos (and their fans) considering all this. I am sure there are a number of ALL teams fans that would be interested in Ed Oliver as a free agent at X dollars on a new contract.....but Oliver as part of a Juedy trade doesn't move the needle. Denver would want draft picks....not an expiring contract.
  21. You are referring to me. I said it a while back, I've been saying it for a while. You guys ought to be as happy about this as I am. KC offered Brown a really sweet deal last offseason. He turned it down because he wanted more guaranteed money. KC tagged him. KC did not make an offer because they wanted to move him to RT. Orlando Brown makes very big deal out of wanting to be a LT like his father. Also, it's been reported, Brown's market was really soft because not only did KC want him to move to RT....several other teams did as well......including the Bears....who also badly need OT. Cincinnatti get him at a pretty low price......especially low for starting LT.....because they promised to play him at LT. (which has upset their incumbant LT, who has demanded a trade) This is NOT going to work out well for Cincy. Keep in mind, Orlando Brown was a one of the groomsman at Patrick Mahomes wedding. They are good friends...and even THAT didn't keep KC from moving on. ....AND they went out and signed a RT who KC will move to LT, at a high price. It's a risky move that cost alot. THAT's how much KC was sure they needed to move on from Brown. He's miscast as a LT and it's made worse in a pass heavy offense. Cinncinnatti got WORSE by doing this. They got a player who is not any better at pass blocking that what they already had, plus they pissed that guy off....so changing out one mediocre LT for another, and paying to do it. Also, KC let Wylie...the other OT go in FA too. Wylie isn't villified so much because he was never supposed to be a starting RT. He's been a great swing O lineman during his time in KC..and has started all over the line. he's better at OG, but is a servicable tackle in a pinch.....problem was he started all 17 games this year and you will read about his PFF grade being high....just watch the film. He got pushed backward into the QB's lap alot....and was beaten more than you want your RT to be beaten most games.
  22. As a long time member of a Broncos board. I ASSURE you, NO ONE over there would think this was a good deal. I GUARANTEE you guys, Ed Oliver isn't even on the radar in Denver as someone they'd even consider trading anything for let alone Jerry Juedy.
  23. ok...you are betting the Packers win division and a playoff game with Love as starting QB. I am betting that doesn't happen. I'd be willing to make this a little easier. How about Packers with Love make playoffs, you win...Packers and Love don't make playoffs, I win. You good with that?
  24. Wouild you care to place a wager on it with me? 100 bucks?
