  1. He has good hands and has certainly contributed to his teams in the past. I just think he is a low level number two more suited for the slot. We have a younger version of Jordan Matthews named Zay Jones. He is a great team first player, but I dont see his worth to the Bills specifically. I think he ends up on a one year contract somewhere. Dallas, KC, Seattle or Indi would be good fits.
  2. He may not have a lot of on field action, but man can the kid play special teams. What really stands out to me with him aside from his speed is how good of a blocker he is.
  3. I dont see him going back to Philly, they were trying to replace him even before the trade. Not sure what a guy who hasnt played a full season in two years and ended this year with 25 catches for 282 yards and one TD gets on the open market, but my guess is he may find it hard to crack a starting roster next year.
  4. I have no problem with this at all. Until the coaches stop interviewing for new jobs or leaving their old job just before a bowl game I will continue to have no problem with this.
  5. Not sure I like the Mariota comparison either. Mariota was a better passer coming out, won more of his games and used his feet less. I think the best comparison I can think of for Jackson right now is probably Colin Kaepernick. I think he is more dynamic than Kaep, but I dont think he is the player Mariota was coming out of Oregon.
  6. Was cold on Jackson at the start of the year but as the year went on I think he improved as a passer. Wouldnt trade up for him, but if he falls to the middle of the 1st round and Darnold, Rosen, Rudolph and Mayfield are all gone I'd be ok with it. I still worry he is too much like our current quarterback but his height is an immediate advantage in comparison with Tyrod.
  7. I honestly applaud it. Its risk reward. They give up the five yards they know wont help them anyways for the slim chance he A. Gets more than five or B. Scores. Your analytics point is relegated to the kickoff only. The team cant score so in this sense they figure they get one additional shot at a touchdown even if its a long shot its better than 0 percent. You have any sort of quarterback you play field position. When you cant move the ball to save your life, you take the risk.
  8. Worked out pretty well. Had a serious amount of targets and came away with close to 13 points. Kinda tough Still had a huge day with over twenty points but still won my game.
  9. David Gettleman has some NYG ties. Could see him coming in as the new GM with Steve Wilks being hired as Head Coach.
  10. What talented player did anyone mention cutting? Hughes has 14 sacks in the last three years. Id rather not pay somone who averages 4.5 sacks a year since signing their big contract 6.5 million dollars next year, but thats just me. The guy is starting to look like Maybin out there, tries to run by the tackle every play.
  11. Think its pretty telling no one has responded to this. Not a massive Trump guy but his time in office has been one witch hunt after another.
  12. Same reason they loved Christian Hackenberg. Same reason everyone seems to love Clayton Thorson all the sudden. They are big and have live arms. I will say this for Allen, his arm is something to behold. I honestly don't think I've seen anything like it. Problem is the ball goes to the wrong team too much. I dont buy the bad team no weapons business. Plenty of college quarterbacks have played on bad teams and found ways to muster more than 96 yards passing against teams with terrible defenses, I am referencing the Oregon game here. Allen is physically gifted but when things start to go south for him they end up a tire fire really quick. He needs to stay in school.
  13. Nothing really works in terms of how it impacts other quarterbacks. But pressuring Brady does work to a point. It has to be a certain sort of pressure though. The best pressure to apply on Brady is when it comes up the middle of the field. Edge rushing doesnt work as well because its not the path of least resistant, it takes too long. He is at his worst when pressure comes up the middle and it comes fast. The Giants always did this so well and to a certain extent the Texans did it last year in the playoffs.
  14. I picked up Josh Gordon in both of my leagues awhile back as a late season store. I've generally been using Rishard Mattews as my flex, but with him being out I've had to use Kenny Stills. The question that is haunting me this week is this, if Matthews is out again this week do I dare start Gordon over Stills? I've already locked up a playoff spot, but in this particular league a win would guarantee me a 1st round bye. Wondering if anyone here would take the risk?
  15. I think Rudolph checks almost every box you look for in a franchise quarterback. In my mind his two biggest issues going into the draft are the offense he played in and the fact he really didnt play any decent defenses. Mayfield showed he could play well against a top ten passing defense when he got the win and put up great stats against Ohio State this year. I dont pretend to know which quarterback will be better in the NFL, so in my mind just go and get a highly rated guy and hope for the best. I would be more than fine with Rudolph, Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, Josh Rosen, or Sam Darnold. Just get one of those guys and lets go.
  16. I can understand your point on the stats. I point to that only because I've only been able to watch one game of his this year. It's possible he was just having a bad game that day but watching him I thought he looked slow and I wasnt overally impressed with his decision making. I have to go back and watch a few more games before I make my mind up. Agree on Falk. Honestly think the guy is undraftable but we will see what happens.
  17. For the life of me I dont know what I am missing when I watch Thorson. Aside from being a big guy and having high character I dont see any of what you describe here. Granted he played very good defenses this year, but even in comparison with the field of quarterbacks who also played those defenses he threw less touchdowns and more interceptions. I think he needs to go back to school, because right now I see a quarterback very much in the mold of someone like Tom Savage. The packaging looks great but the play isn't where it needs to be. Luke Falk has been mentioned as a 1st round prospect this year, same with Ryan Finley so I dont see them as currently "under the radar." Personally, I dont think either is a 1st round prospect, but the word is out none the less. If you want truly under the radar guys who could end up making a late charge in the draft three guys come to mind Drew Lock Missouri Mike White Western Kentucky Logan Woodside Toledo
  18. Good post. I'd never heard the back story on the Big Ben trade, just knew they didnt get it done. On the Manuel point I am not sure they had a choice there. Still think he was the best option in maybe one of the most horrendous quarterback classes of all time.
  19. They are this years Houston or Miami on a bit of a larger scale. They are the AFC South Anomaly that gets to play Brissett, and Tom Savage for four wins this year, win 50% of your other games and you are in. They will be lucky to win a playoff game, and unless they get a quarterback will be back to third or fourth place next year when Luck and Watson are back.
  20. And this is why they never get better. I like McBeane, but their entire premise of attempting to be good now and later doesn't work unless you are already in fact good. I've seen the play too many times now, they will miss the playoffs by a game and have to hope a quarterback falls into the 15-20 range to move up without giving up the entire draft. Remember when they didnt have enough ammo to move up to get Big Ben, and had to settle on J.P. Losman?
  21. I wouldnt say its a coincidence at all. His presence reduces your margin of error. His presence pretty much assures you have to win 71% of your games outside of the Patriots every year.
  22. Noted. 10% chance of winning. Unbelievable that the drought pretty much corresponds with Brady coming into the NFL. Wish the guy would retire already.
  23. I hope they beat the Patriots this weekend. I will watch the game and hope for it. But I also know they are 26-2 against Brady, so realistically they have about a 7% chance of winning the game. As long as they have Brady I will never, never go into a Patriots game thinking they have a real chance of winning. This is where games like Cinci, Carolina, and LA come back to haunt you.
  24. Anyone here had the chance to watch Drew Lock from Mizzou play? Looked into him a bit and started to get interested in the schedule he played against this year. From what I looked at he seemed pretty successful against some very tough pass defenses. Main issue looks to be accuracy but I havent seen enough games to know whether drops had anything to do with it. He is only a junior so its possible he doesnt declare, but given his size and success against good teams I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up the late climber before the draft,
  25. Its mindblowing. Like I said I have no idea how these guys will end up but at least play with house money when its given to you
