Bills are 8-2 for the first time in over 30 years

Great! Now let's get down to brass tacks and find something that we can complain about... /S -
Cook/Shakir/Oliver/Benford vs Hall/Wilson/Williams/Gardner
ROCBillsBeliever replied to Chugga's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel ya. And the answer is both simple and sad: 1) The New Jersey Jests drafted higher than us. 2) The Draft Prognosticators and talking heads like being right. 3) Therefore, the Draft Prognosticators and talking heads pump up the picks they picked, pressing them on the mindscape of everyone who follows football. 4) When these talking progs are wrong, they don't give up; they don't admit they're wrong; these tools laugh in the face of statistics... They just push their turds harder, so we hear more and more about Hall / Wilson / Williams / Gardner, and less and less about our boys. Narrative... That's all it is. -
I am begging for a break, myself: A break from the negativity pointed at every Bills move, every draft pick, every Josh Allen intercep... Wait... He hasn't thrown one yet. I'm sorry if it bothers you that I see what's going on out there, and that I'm sensitive to it.
-
No: They're smart. They're trying to prevent Coleman from having a statistically better season than Worthy, so the talking heads can continue to crow about how Buffalo gave KC the fastest player in NFL Draft history... I hate it...
-
Oh, I 100% agree. But I also feel like there are talking heads out there who are still pitching the anti-Josh narratives because they thought Wrong Josh would be a HOFer, and JA17 would be a bust. They push these narratives to "make" their mistaken takes on Allen "right"... That's what I hate. I really hope so.
-
Thanks for confirming that NARRATIVE is a major part of this. I wish more people would see what's going on out there. Narrative has been anti-Allen since a good number of pundits said he would never amount to a hill of beans in the NFL. They aren't letting it go, and they are fighting hard to continue to be "right". That's what I'm pissed about.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but this SHOULD NOT be how logical arguments are made. Thought experiment: If you swapped Allen's and Mahomes' stats, what would the entirety of the NFL media be squawking about? I'll answer for you: Allen is inaccurate / Allen will never be better than Mahomes / Allen isn't in the MVP conversation... 8ULL$#!+ https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2020/7/17/21324785/the-bruce-exclusive-wins-are-not-a-qb-stat-and-almightytake-time I'll just keep posting it... Wins are NOT a quarterback stat.
-
I don't need to argue this point. I'll leave this to Bruce Nolan: https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2020/7/17/21324785/the-bruce-exclusive-wins-are-not-a-qb-stat-and-almightytake-time Give it a listen. I'll agree that Allen needed to improve. I'm asking why nobody in the media criticizes Mahomes. That is my question.
-
Patrick Mahomes: 6 TD 6 INT 57.3 QBR Josh Allen: 10 TD 0 INT (Z-E-R-O...) 79.6 Why are none of the NFL talking heads decrying Mahomes as an inaccurate passer? Why is there no narrative about how he has regressed? Why aren't NFL talking heads criticizing Mahomes' lack of accuracy, or his sub-pedestrian numbers to this point in the season. Oh... Wait... They still have a stat to hang their hats on... Mahomes: 1,235 yards Allen: 1,160 yards So, I guess this year the measuring stick for NFL MVP is passing yards... Cool.

I turned off the game television. I amended the text to reflect the fact that this was NOT a game... This was a joke. A failure. We didn't just not get off the bus; from the looks of it, we sabotaged our own tires and never made it to the stadium... Pitiful,.

Buffalo Bills: Elite early season team, year after year
ROCBillsBeliever replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
PattyCakes is an idiot! You don't throw meat in a compost bin... That invites rats... Wait... Let me think... Tyreek "Die on a Wife-Beating" Hill, Rashee "Lambo-Crashing, Scene-Fleeing, Playbook-Leaving" Rice, the list goes on... Oh... Okay, I guess Kermit WANTS to invite the rats. #OnBrand -
We definitely dodged a bullet, there! It seems like the first time in half a decade that a good rookie QB went to an NFC team, instead of an AFC one. Imagine if Carolina hadn't "Carolina-d" the Bruce Young pick, and Houston was an afterthought? How much easier would our path the the SB, for the foreseeable future, have been?
