  1. Didn't read any posts. Scott Norwood. Miss the field goal in sb 25.
  2. This is exactly correct. The public pays for the R&D and the private sector reaps the rewards. Socialize the risk; Privatize the rewards. We pay for the research and development and then pay again in the market. Same exact scenario with tech companies.
  3. At least a little bit. The movement correlates with the eye test results.
  4. Haha! Soviet. That's a joke. This place is mucho capitalist. Everything here favors the super rich, business owners, gentrification, etc. Working class people are displaced everyday while the major capitalists in the state skirt all the tax laws and get all the benefits. It is capitalist welfare state. Not socialist or communist. Of course, I say this with the assumption that you have read Marx, Lenin, etc. And that you know what Marxism, Stalinism, etc. is. But truthfully, California is a neoliberal capitalist state. Period. Perhaps you're referring to the social aspects in the state like gender rights and anti-racism. But you would be hardpressed to argue that the Soviets were open to that. Finally, getting welfare benefits in this state is exceptionally difficult. The public health care is only for super super poor. Same with food. Housing assistance is impossible to get. And unemployment is a nightmare and takes forever to get benefits. I know this is about Phillip Rivers, but I hate this straight up ######ed assumption about Cali.
  5. I know. My Aunt uses her dementia the same way! Sick of hearing it!!
  6. This may not be popular, but maybe Peterman. He showed a lot of growth with the Raiders training camp last year. ?
  7. Maybe they should draft a shifty speedster who can return punts and play special teams. Like a Foster, McCloud or McKenzie type WR.
  8. While I think that a team's marketability and profits play a role in how the games are shaped, there are other dimensions that determine a game's outcome. For instance, and most obvious, the way the players play. This still matters. What bothered me about the game was the grossly apparent advertising for Watt, the American hero. It seems the NFL loves to promote this aspect. It makes sense, though, as it seems this white nationalism is alive and well right now. But overall, while marketing and profits contribute to the outcomes of games, the Bills should have played better and should have won, despite marketing Watt and America.
  9. This is all true, but Allen has to get better. That's the most important factor.
  10. It's actually about 40% yuppie. 40% squidbilly from maine, etc. And 20% old working class Lowell types.
  11. Great post. Kelly became one of the best in the league the next season, if not the best. The 1990 Bills we practically unstoppable because Kelly was amazing in the no huddle. Allen doesn't have to be that good, but if he can get somewhere near that good, we will have a great team for a long time, like the early 90s Bills with Kelly.
  12. I think we can win with McDermott as the coach if Allen makes some improvements and we get a couple more good players on offense. The schedule is a bit harder (at least it looks that way right now), but we are trending in the right direction. To me, Allen is the key. If he improves, we will continue to make the playoffs. If he doesn't, we wont. Of course, he needs one really good receiver. He needs another RB as good as Singletary and one more O-Line guy. Other than that, we are in good shape, as long as he gets better. Again, I think McDermott can take us forward. But if we could get a guy like Arians, Carroll, or Reid that would really help a lot. McDermott is definitely flawed and I do not think he can overcome his flaws as they have been apparent since he started in Buffalo. But if Allen can get it together and they can get a couple more good players, McDermott has enough good coaching attributes to get us there.
  13. Those who picked Allen in this poll before the game took a gamble. They bet on Allen. All of the evidence suggested that Watson was a far better QB. Yet, some people chose Allen. This is a bit baffling, since Allen didn't even have that great of a season. He definitely improved from 2018, but his season was pretty average. I think everybody wanted Allen to have a great game against Houston, regardless of who they voted for in this poll. Allen has potential and we will see if he becomes as good as Watson next season. But Watson is a great QB and should have won this poll by a landslide. If Allen can become as good as Watson, we will be in the playoffs for years to come. Go Allen and Go Bills for 2020!
  14. Here it is with commentary: https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/gzgilcqz5tb3hzww1wwq.jpg
  15. I miss the good old days when Turd Taylor threw 15 check downs to an obese full back called Tolbert.
