  1. Since the mid-90s, the internet has made it possible to discuss a wide variety of topics. Anyway, I see a bit of the 2009 Cardinals. Obviously we don't have Fitzgerald or Boldin, but we have a dynamic QB who can turn on the switch and light it up. That team looked awful at times, but then it finally clicked and they went on a run. If Allen gets it going, we can have a run. How's that for optimism!
  2. Ben Johnson seems to be for real. 9-3 now and beat a good team, too.
  3. All true and well stated. It's just easier for some to blame the entire culture in America. And we're the hyperbolic ones.
  4. I put in some scenarios today. Six games left. If the Bills beat Jets and Browns. Lose to Pats and Eagles. They would have to beat either the Steelers or the Bengals to get in. So, three wins gets the Bills in and considering they play the Jets and Browns, there's a good chance. But you're right. Doesn't seem like they'll do much in the playoffs anyway.
  5. Just to add some context, this type of humor became popular in 2005 or so, mainly with Tim and Eric and their video editor DJ Dougg Pound. Here's his work from back in 1999. Now this sort of stuff is passe, but still kind of funny.
  6. Raiders have $3 hot dogs in a couple of sections. So, the list is inaccurate.
  7. Good one. I guess I should mention that I am in my early forties. Hence, the joke.
  8. Me prepping for Super Bowl 86, the next time the Bills make it!
  9. Not a huge deal, but the Bills were called for two penalties. One was declined.
  10. Probably going to miss a bit of the game because baggage claim can be a long walk and sometimes a bit of a wait. Regardless, going to North Star will take too long and you'll probably miss at least the entire first quarter. Not sure what your other plans are for the day, but it would probably be best to stay at the airport or get an uber to a really close bar to see as much of the game as possible One airport bar is right outside of security for the G gates. It has many tvs and will serve drinks. It will be more expensive at about $32 for a double cocktail or $15 for a beer. So, you may want to go to a bar close by, which will be cheaper for drinks.
  11. This is an interesting post. Like you, I can get a bit annoyed or uncomfortable with "hobbyists" who make claims outside of their professional fields of study and work. For instance, my field (PhD) is Economics, and the amount of misinformation / speculation that proliferate from hobbyists about something like inflation, for example, is frustrating. Regardless, I wonder, do professional forecasters use numerical models to forecast weather beyond the 96 hours, and if so, are their forecasts reputable in any way, or is the 96 hour limit a rule, per se? Do professional forecasters simply qualify their forecasts beyond 96 hours with a disclaimer? In other words, if numerical weather models aren't worth a damn outside of 96 hours, then what do professional weather forecasters actually do? Or are weather forecasters still searching for the best numerical model? You don't have to answer these questions, and they may not be reasonable questions (since I know nothing about weather), but it is interesting.
  12. Not really the case here. Compliance with management is actaully more desirable in this case for future employers. In other words, if a employee puts his ego aside for the betterment of the organition, the management of any organizition will consider that more valuable. More specifically, who will want to hire Daboll at this point? His coaching ability has taken a huge hit for a couple of years, so one of the only positives left for him was tacet compliance. So, he most definitely made himself "look worse" by winning. Lmao
  13. 5 yard penalty for poor grammar. Adding "for them" at the end of the sentence is redundant, since you already use the pronoun "they" at the beginning of the sentence.
  14. Is misspelling a 5 or 15 yard penalty?
  15. The defense is not good. The Pats* game was unusual though. The Bills had 6 PI calls against them. The only other game close to that was the Rams game with 5 PI calls against. On top of the PI calls, the Bills had two illegal formations, one offensive holding and an unnecessary roughness. All very inconsistent and subjective calls. Along with defensive improvement, the Bills need to have the refs call less panalities on them. Again, the defense is not good, but this sort of officiating certainly contributed to the closeness of the game.
  16. Some good boxing on this evening. Jaime Munguia, super exciting Mexican fighter on ESPN.
  17. Cue the old timers who like the old school violence. Tough guys who also don't want a dome because they're so darn tough. Man, those tough guys. We should all admire their toughness. "I remember when men were men and had the freedom to violently hurt each other. The good ole days."
  18. SF is an amazing food city. I live in The Mission and the mexican food rivals SoCal. Italian food in North Beach, as well, with pizza that rivals Buffalo, e.g. Capo's and Tony's. Cioppino is fantastic and can be found all over the city. All styles of Asian food are here and most of it is delicious. Very few chains and franchises here. About 95% mom pop restaurants. Probably watching at the NorthStar tomorrow and eating sushi after the game. Oh, and San Fran is no more dangerous than any average city. So, stop asking...
  19. Hung Phillip Talks Bills
  20. Eric Reid- for calling malcolm jenkins a neo-colonialist. https://deadspin.com/eric-reid-calls-malcolm-jenkins-a-sellout-and-neo-co-1829897586/
  21. Give Hamlin some credit. He's played good in the two games, and he stepped up to stop a TD that could have shifted the game. He made a good tackle at the exact moment we needed it. He may not be great, but he's not that bad.
  22. Keon Coleman is so slow that injured MVS, Samuel, and Claypool are still faster.
  23. I know. I remember when being accused and charged with gang rap% and keeping your job was the norm. Darn millenials!
