LeVeon Bell: What better fit for him than Buffalo?
freddyjj replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the Pro personnel and draft prospects heads up. I don't drill down on that until season ends. McKenzie is too small to play RB as is only 5'7" and weighs 175 lbs soaking wet. -

Wow I missed that, thanks for posting. I will amend my take to this; OBD will not put a fully guaranteed $54mm-60mm 3 year deal on the table for reasons noted previously. Bell was picked 48th in draft (mid 2nd) and David Johnson and Kareem Hunt were taken at pick 86 in the 3rd. Have to believe a Shady replacement (who will have Shady alongside them in RB room in 2019) can be found in the draft next spring. OL, WR, DL and CB are bigger needs than RB -

Let's deal in reality here. Bell wants $40mm guaranteed up front. No team will give a 27 year old player (who hasn't played this year) taht much - this is where the Suspension risk and Agent Issues kill him. BTW here is Sammy's deal. Sammy Watkins signed a 3 year, $48,000,000 contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, including a $21,000,000 signing bonus, $30,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $16,000,000. And besides turning down the $14.5mm Franchise Tag deal, Bell also said no to the following. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, the Steelers' 10/5 offer to Bell included $47 million over three years with a $10 million roster bonus that would have been paid out soon after signing the deal. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported in July that Pittsburgh made an offer to Bell worth up to $70 million over five years and included more than $30 million over the first two years. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Get Aboard the Josh Allen Train”
freddyjj replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shaw - great summary as usual. I think it's always easier for a right handed QB to throw the ball to his left on bubble screens. When Josh has to open his hips up to throw short right, there seems to be some footwork issues that make those plays difficult. Teams will scout tendencies so McD and team need to get him over this hole in his game. -
Does Danny Crossman Survive This Year?

I think the issue is the Punter. Bills have 3 under contract but only the worst one is able to play right now due to injury -
Doug, hope you banked that $4mm cuz you may be out of a job soon.

Shady hasn't served 2 drug suspensions already and isn't facing 10 games for a future positive test. IMHO no way Bell gets a long term deal at the $$ he wants and OBD won't be in bidding anyways -
In hockey for sure?

If you have a chance, look at Elway in 1983 - that is who Allen resembles most in style of play and results Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS QBrec Cmp Att Cmp% Yds TD TD% Int Int% Lng Y/A AY/A Y/C Y/G Rate Sk Yds NY/A ANY/A Sk% 4QC GWD AV 1983 23 DEN QB 7 11 10 4-6-0 123 259 47.5 1663 7 2.7 14 5.4 49 6.4 4.5 13.5 151.2 54.9 28 218 5.03 3.33 9.8 1 1 Today the kid had no turnovers and no sacks versus the 4th ranked D in the league - while throwing and running for a TD. 3-2 record in his complete games too.

I'm puzzled. Did you watch this game and the playoff game? Today Allen was 8/18 for 160 yds. No Sacks, No INTs and threw a TD pass for 90 Rating. Also ran 11 times (not counting 2 kneel downs) for >100 yds and a TD. QB rating of 90. 2/3 for red zone TD percentage. In playoffs last year Tyrod was 17/37 for 13 yds, 2 sacks for -15 yds, 1 INT and 0 Tds for a QB rating of 44.8. 7 rushes for 28 yds and failed to get team in end zone all day espite Bills having first and goal at Jags 1 yd line. Want to know why we let Tyrod go? For games like last year's playoff game. Got us in red zome only 1 time and failed to get TD. I don't think Josh plays like Taylor at all. Today, against a loaded defense he played well and delivered big plays when we needed them. Tyrod never did that. And please don't make me do a similar exercise with Josh vs. Bortles.

LABillBacker - thanks for having my back here. Meant to add completion rate and in all the confusion skipped Deonte Thompson! Might we also limit sacks taken to 2 per game? -

Lead Bills to wins in 4 of 6 remaining games. 1500 yds passing. 9 TDs, 3 INTs. 240 yds rushing, 3 TDs. Develop rapport with Jones, Croom, McKenzie and Foster. -
Yes Happy Thanksgiving to all board members. A special one for me as had Open Heart Surgery earlier this year - puts it all in perspective. And please say a prayer for our guys and gals overseas away from their families this year.

I am not sure you understand odds just fine. The likelihood of Bills winning AFC East is <1%. The table below adds odds across the columns. The Bills winning is only a part of the must happen scenarios. 98% chance bills don't make the playoffs. Jags Game discussion - what say you?
freddyjj replied to freddyjj's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good points with how Jags will be feeling - game just got tougher. Not sure what arguing for Barkley accomplishes as Allen will start this game and any others he is healthy for. He is much more athletic and his arm (and new WRs) will force Jags to defend the whole field - vertically and horizontally. Steelers started doing damage throwing deep sideline or back shoulders outside the numbers. Allen is good at those The offense vs Jets will be even more dangerous with a QB who can make all the throws. Barkley can't. -
There is no way we will beat the Jaguars

Jags D doesn't scare me now. And Marrone/Hackett 4 straight 3 and outs looked familiar! -
