  1. My take here: Not a given McD is back next year. As for Rex, per staff at OBD he and Rob were last ones to work in AM and first to leave at night. Not the best management skills.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. Was listening to Murph/Tasker show at lunchtime today and they stated likely due to his failure to fully digest the complex coverage schemes they use. Extra time in last few weeks to get up to speed is what Murphy said he was told by coaches.
  3. Aaron Schobel planted Brady
  4. Wallace UDFA out of Alabama (6'0" 180lbs) reminds me of Jabari Greer, who was a smallish (5'11" 180 lbs) CB UDFA out of an SEC school (Tenn). If Wallace can duplicate Greer's career we will be all set!
  5. lol. Bucky and Sully sounds like a little kids cartoon! The only thing worse than Sully's columns are his golf game. Terry should tell him, Break 80 and you can sit in my suite!
  6. Scratch #6 - Mission accomplished!! https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/11/06/bills-cut-phillip-gaines-promote-levi-wallace/
  7. Let me count the ways... QB: Give Allen one more week off and bye so he has 6 weeks recovery til start vs Jags. Lets him develop some timing with new receiving crew. OLine: Bench Ducasse and Miller and play Boettger and Teller at G. Younger, stronger and more mobile than the guys playing now. Let Serles play RT and put Mills as backup Swing OT. Then when year ends we know if we need new starting OGs or not. Same at RT. WR: Bench Benjamin and start Zay in slot with Pryor and Holmes outside. Or put Pryor and Zay outside with RayRay in slot. TE: Clay to IR and play Croom and Thomas to determine if either can be TE1 next year. RB: Abandon the 21 formation with DiMarco and use Shady and Ivory in tandem instead. RPO with Josh from this formation would be problematic for most D's. Defense: More of same. Can they maybe replace Gaines at CB2 with Lewis or another PS CB?
  8. Have to wonder how many Bills WRs even know that Madden ain't just the game's name!
  9. Agree that we are in tear down / rebuild mode in 2018 / 2019 seasons. Bills rebuilt WR and DL overnight in 1985 draft. I agree OBD should draft best player available at top of board. Just a minor correction that 1984 was 2 years after Knox left, Kay Stephenson went 8-8 in 1983 after taking over then went 2-14 in 1984. Bruce Mathison was not a Bill in 1984 - he split 1985 QB duties with Vince Ferragamo. In 1984 Joe Ferguson started 11 games in his last year as a Bill and then the other Joe, Joe Dufek started 5. Bills went 2-14 to clinch top pick in draft in 1984. They did manage to beat Cowboys 14-3 at home that year. They started 1985 0-4, Stephenson was fired and Hank Bullough took over as Head Coach. He went 2-10 balance of 1985 and got canned after going 2-7 in 9 games in 1986 (with Kelly at QB). On came Marv and the rest became history.
  10. from another thread. OBD needs to double down in FA and land a C and RT for 2019.

  12. An A for your take - realistic and spot on. IMHO there bigger failure than QB was their handling of the Oline. Bills lost 3 starters vs 2015/2016 teams - Wood, Glenn and Richie. Severely overestimated Ducasse and Miller's capabilities. Both are NFL backup quality players. At OT, Newhouse, McDermott were barely NFL roster players prompting them to deal Newhouse and sign Serles mid-season. As for C, neither Groy nor Bodine are capable NFL starters - again, like QB, there was a competition where the competitors themselves were not worthy entrants. Going into 2019 I would keep Dawkins, Serles, Boetgger and Teller. Draft a franchise LT and move Dawkins to LG. SIgn a C and RT in FA and let the 2 kids fight it out at RG. Bid farewell to Mills, Ducasse, Miller and Groy. Bodine and Serles are backups in 2019.
  13. This was only 4 years ago - Erik Pears and Chris Williams were starters on OL! Some things never change!
  14. I do think he is inactive this week and retires on MON.
  15. lol in all the excitement I forgot about that one. Maybe get their secondary a "Canadian Ballet" limo so they can runup a $64000 CAD bill or $45000 USD bill on SAT pm. Exchange Rate be damned, they ain't payin anyway!
  16. Honestly if he doesn't start throwing until next week (very likely as in arm brace still) I don't see them playing him vs Jets.
  17. In an ideal world we play Bears and Jets with NP or DA as starter and go back to Josh Allen after the bye. Allows for Terrelle Pryor to get up to speed with Josh and let's McD implement any changes on Oline (Boettger or Teller at G) Here's a curve. What if DA decides his comeback is over? It may force Josh to play vs Jets if ready.
  18. 11. With one letter you can change all your gear to read "Bulls" football
  19. gold star. Dion at LG would make us forget Richie quickly. Big, strong, fast and we could use screens again.
  20. Bye Bye Ray Ray Go get a slot/gimmick/pr/kr to be 4th or 5th WR makes sense to me
  21. Shaw as always solid analysis and opinion! You missed your calling laddie! I tend to watch the game and key on the trenches. Our D looked fast and got penetration vs their OLine most of the day. No problem with our front 7 vs NE O Line/TE's. In pass pro, It appeared we had a 2 TE formation over their DE Flowers a few times and he just beat them routinely. And on his only play, Marcus Murphy missed his blitz pickup on 53 and our 35 yr old QB got concussed. Other than those blatant breakdowns the O Line generally gave Anderson time for some downfield throws. When asked to run block, our OL has not demonstrated the ability to run power plays as no push on stay at home blocker and the OGs and C are too slow to pull and get to the end or 2nd level target. Was amazed at how fast Dion Dawkins ran trying to make tackle on the pick 6 - go big fella! Might want to draft an LT in Rd 1 next year and move Dawkins to LG where he would shine.
  22. IMHO putting Shady and Ivory in same backfield then motioning Shady out as a WR would give Defenses fits. Shady had over 80 yds receiving last week and would force teams to stay in a base D to respect the 2 RB look (cue to pass option) or play an extra DB to account for Shady as WR (cue the run play). We get a guy out of the box that's there now. I put Shady in space to take advantage of his skill set and use Ivory as the between the Tackles runner.
  23. LOL - like it when a plan comes together!
  24. If they think they can sign Pryor and play him at KB's spot then you get something for an asset you will not retain next year anyway. Fire Sale and there may be some addition by subtraction given KB's performance and attitude this year.
  25. Eli Manning seen speaking with Tonya Harding in Tony Soprano's Meadowlands body dump yesterday. Coincidence? I think not!
