1/9/22 Gameday Bills vs Jets 1st Half Thread
BigDingus replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
So if we win, are there going to be more threads proclaiming weather doesn't matter? I'm so sick of watching this team's biggest strength get nullified. Now the wind is killing our punts & field position on top of it, again proving how crap weather benefits inferior teams more than good ones. -
Just found some interesting info on Wikipedia... Nathan Peterman is one of only 72 players to post a 0.0 Passer Rating when he did it against the Ravens in 2018. Another Bills QB, Jack Kemp, was the first player to post a 0.0 Passer Rating & win the game (1965 vs the Houston Oilers). Of the 72 QB's to post a 0.0 Passer Rating, 8 did so against the Bills. Those 8 players were: 1. John Hadl - Chargers 2. Cotton Davidson - Raiders 3. Don Trull - Patriots 4. Joe Namath - Jets 5. Terry Bradshaw - Steelers 6. Cliff Stoudt - Steelers (same game as Bradshaw) 7. Warren Moon - Oilers 8. Joey Harrington - Dolphins Meanwhile, aside from Kemp & Peterman, Bills QB Al Dorow had a 0.0 Passer Rating against the Oilers in 1962. Sorry, just enjoy some random stat history related to the Bills 😁 Edit: Just saw that Shaw already posted the Wiki article... I suck.

But what was the GOAT Nathan Peterman's lowest Passer Rating? Failure to include that in the original post shows complete lack of respect for a first ballot HOFer.

NFL looking at AT&T Stadium as a backup plan for the Super Bowl
BigDingus replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just do a random lottery drawing in front of a live audience. Air it live on TV, make a game of it. Draw in reverse order, with the last name standing be where they host it 🤣 You know how much money they'd make off that kind of event alone? Hell, the viewership numbers would rival the Super Bowl itself LOL -
Diggs - bonus for 6 more catches - extension ?
BigDingus replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was just hearing Chris Simms & Florio talking about individual incentives in contracts (in relation to Antonio Brown) & how they're a bad idea for those with a history of selfishness. Thankfully, Diggs has been a true team guy, and we don't have to worry about that. Allen might want to throw Diggs a few extra passes to help a buddy out though 👍 But AB? Yeah... pretty dumb to put those in his contract with his history. That guy is going to whine, cry & stomp his feet about getting the ball so he can get bonuses. -
Rashaad Penny would fit nicely with the Bills’ offense.

Shockingly, Antonio Brown is still on the Bucs roster at this very moment... LET'S MAKE A TRADE! 🤣 -
When healthy this year, Knox is the best TE this team has had in a long time. You don't have to be "one of the best" at your position in the entire league to be a very good player. For TE's, he's tied at #1 for most TD's with Mark Andrews (Bal) & Hunter Henry (NE) while having played 2 less games. He's done this while only being targeted 64 times. In comparison, we have others like: Mark Andrews - 132 targets Travis Kelce - 122 targets Mike Gesicki - 102 targets Kyle Pitts - 101 targets Zach Ertz - 93 targets George Kittle - 85 targets So, I think it's more a matter of making the most of your opportunities, and the Bills having so many viable receiving options. He's also caught a much higher % of targets this year, so that shows he still hasn't reached his ceiling. Guys like him & Gabe Davis are just getting better.

Belichick has shown he's pretty good at implementing great game plans in the post season, whether as a coordinator or HC. Would prefer to avoid his team as the first opponent. Then again, I'd just be happy if we got a home playoff game against ANYONE while having decent weather.

That old party trick? Wake me up when someone turns 7up into NOT urine.

Just saw some headline the past couple days involving him, but couldn't be bothered to click the article... Is he some college line coach now? What a fall from grace...

Hijacking this for my own agendas.... SEE! This is why we need a dome! THINK OF THE CHILDREN! *Ahem* But for real, that's such a cool story! You got a tough kiddo. You're an awesome dad for flying him out to Buffalo for a game too! Hope you guys made some good memories aside from this little bit

What if IND loses to JAX? I guess that's unlikely, but what if?!
-
That was my dream last year... but hope is still alive!

Nah, challenged the devil to a fiddling duel & won. Devil didn't count on the refs bailing Brady out.
-
You know, I've hated Brady for a long time, but.... That post game press conference and the way he responded regarding AB, could hear the sadness in his voice as a guy just concerned about a friend. Really, since he's joined the Bucs, been able to appreciate him a lot more in a lot of little ways. Scientists around the world are probably rubbing their hands together, frothing at the mouth to get their hands on AB's brain to study the affects of CTE...

Gotta love how Hurts handled that situation though 😂 Seems like a good dude.

This team is built for a DOME-Bills kill another narrative
BigDingus replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure, if you ignore every other benefit to having a dome too... That's the thing though, additional benefits actually exist. What are the benefits of no dome? What about fans themselves? Do you honestly believe the majority of people prefer to sit in crappy weather? Even though $2B might be accurate, it's a kick in the nuts knowing so many other teams got beautiful, state of the art, domed stadiums for significantly less than that (even adjusted for inflation)... And they didn't have to stick them in the middle of nowhere to save on price either. But the Bills have to pay MORE than those teams, for a smaller stadium, and make sure it's built away from any meaningful developments, ensuring there's zero opportunity for any additional economic benefit (no, I'm not talking about overall "net profit vs public funds," which we know is a loss). Circling back, let's not act like 1) the NFL isn't geared towards the passing game, 2) Allen doesn't have many years left, 3) the most successful this team has been in 3 decades has been when we had a good passing offense.... Perhaps we should lean into that? How many years did we listen to new HC press conferences where they'd talk about a commitment to the run & a strong defense, blah blah blah? Every. Single. Time. They all failed. They tried building those teams REPEATEDLY, but it took one good QB to finally escape that, and suddenly = playoffs. Coincidence? -

Guess people just see what they want to see, me included. Thought this once again confirmed bad weather negates our advantages. We ran the ball great today, but we're not a strong running team. Allen's play killed his TD/INT ratio, overall QBR & likely MVP chances, even putting up 2 rushing TD's. Being cold/wet obviously affects his control & comfort when throwing the ball. Even Diggs dropped 2 TD passes in 2 bad weather home games, and he never drops passes. -
Snubbed for Pro Bowl but making first team All Pro? What sweet, poetic justice that would be! Bet his wife would make the irony of that pretty loud & clear on Twitter too 😂

OT: Would you support a Buffalo spring football team?
BigDingus replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't live there, but I honestly think despite the size, they'd be able to support an MLB or NBA team too. Yeah, I know they had an NBA team for a few years decades ago, & they tried to lure an MLB team, but they got screwed both times. At the very least, they'd put up better attendance numbers than the Marlins & Rays in my opinion lol
