  1. That's just how it is. Who knows how Brady develops under a different HC? He may never have gotten the chance, or at least not until much later in his career. They're both crucial to each other's success.
  2. I'm guilty of the Oliver one. I didn't think he deserved that much money, and for a few years, he did not live up to my expectations. I don't think Elam is "TBD," though. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but he's a bust in my eyes. Gabe still has a lot of value, though I'm not saying he should get a massive contract. $10-12 million a year is actually on the low-mid range for WRs these days. Top guys like Hill are getting $25-$30 million per year, while other #1 guys are hitting $20 million yearly. Beane's picks the last 2 years have definitely been pretty good, so I'm happy overall.
  3. Exactly. It's been this way for a while, though Allen was starting to be mentioned in some peoples' top 5 candidates after the Cowboys & KC games. But for some reason, people want to pretend the turnover narrative doesn't linger hard, especially among other fanbases. I've noticed a lot that there's been way more anti-Allen backlash the last 1/4 of the season too. Any time you see a segment with an analyst or athlete talk positively about him, half the responses are insulting Allen's turnovers & awareness, or comparing him to their own QBs they feel don't get as much credit as Josh. I just read a comment under Cowherd's video praising Allen after the fins game, saying something like "I'm sure if Dak had 8 more TDs but 12 more turnovers, the media would grease him up like they do Allen!" and it had nearly 1,000 likes. People can roll their eyes all they want, but that's not an outlier, that's the reality outside of Bills fans now.
  4. Funny you asked, my sleep schedule has SUCKED lately! Need to start taking some Melatonin or something 😅
  5. Me neither, but sometimes it's the best option out of a handful of crappy options.
  6. I've long credited Allen for his amazing work ethic & dramatic improvement from raw rookie to MVP runner-up. He's my favorite player in the league, and I want to see him silence the REAL haters. But I'm not going to be afraid to voice valid criticism because some goober online calls me a "hater" for simply discussing real issues. *********** I'm a huge data-guy. Stats aren't everything, but I like looking over numbers & seeing trends. But if you cover data that in any way discusses stats that could even remotely suggest something negative about Josh, people often get overly upset and throw logic out the window. If not for reviewing data & discussing on this board, I wouldn't have realized that Josh throwing only 1 INT per game almost has no affect on our our W/L record, and it's only when he has 2+ turnovers that our W/L record plummets (though recent weeks have boosted that percentage). Recently, I was trying to dream up ways the Bills could win the SB even if they play sloppy. So went through the last 20 x SB games & broke down some stats. I didn't even share anything on the board, as I figured certain people would take it as some Allen insult, when in reality I was genuinely looking for a silver-lining. If I posted "in the last 20 years, only 4 teams have won the SB while losing the turnover battle (and 2 of those times were lead by Brady)," I'd be called a troll or Allen hater. *********** TL;DR - Don't be so quick to label people "Allen haters," especially fellow Bills fans who want nothing more than to see him succeed. We're all just dudes who love the Bills & want someone to celebrate/commiserate with 😅
  7. My dream scenario would be Dolphins get embarrassed so badly, they fire Mike McDaniel after another late season collapse. Then to spite the franchise that let him go, he joins the enemy Buffalo Bills as the new offensive coordinator. It'll never happen, and many Bills fans would probably hate the idea, but I think he'd do wonders for Allen. Oh, and while I'm in fantasy land, Jim Schwartz gets bored with Cleveland & wants to accept a lateral move to take over the Bills DC position once again 😉
  8. Depends on how it's lost. -If it's something like "13 seconds" collapse, McDermott will be on the hot seat, no doubt. -If Allen turns it over multiple times again & costs us the game, Bills fans might look to deflect on someone else & find a scapegoat, but fans of other teams & the media will rake him over the coals. -If the offense is competent, puts up points, protects the football, and the defense can't stop anybody, McDermott will again receive the bulk of the blame. -If the team comes out flat, receivers dropping passes, players turning it over aside from Allen, tons of penalties, etc. it'll be a lot of "Allen needs help!" from the fans & media. -If it's a relatively good game but with notable missed opportunities (like a failed 4th & 1), a large discrepancy in run/pass plays, or just playing stagnant for long stretches, you'll hear calls for a Brady replacement. Oh, almost forgot the easiest one! If we lose due to missed FG's, Tyler Bass will be on the street ASAP 😅
  9. But you're a Bills fan, so you should understand this team plays down to the competition & keeps bad teams in the game with their turnovers. It's not really a farfetched scenario if the Bills play like that have in recent weeks. If they finally play to their potential & can successfully run the ball, then they can blow the Steelers out of the park.
  10. Oooooh... is that what he meant? Whenever I hear "us" or "we" on this board, I'm assuming it just means the Bills as a team or Bills fanbase as a whole.
  11. None of that was trolling though. Turning it over a bunch of times on the road is a recipe for disaster. Let's stop pretending this is normal or a good way to win a Super Bowl. I'm happy we won too, but why is everyone acting like it's mission accomplished here? It's like we haven't seen Allen go a game without an INT for so long, that we're numb to the sheer amount of turnovers plaguing this team. If we can win while still throwing multiple picks in the playoffs, it'll be a testament to our coaching, defense, ST and the entire roster (Josh included) for pulling it off.
  12. Yeah... still lost on the thread title. Read through the whole thread trying to figure out how it went over my head, but I guess I'm too derpy to get it.
  13. Buffalo weather better not ruin Buffalo football again! I swear, I'll drive up there & piss in Lake Eerie if it costs us a game 😡
  14. AFC: 1. Ravens 2. Browns 3. Bills 4. Chiefs 5. Texans 6. Dolphins 7. Steelers NFC: 1. 49ers 2. Rams 3. Cowboys 4. Lions 5. Packers 6. Bucs 7. Eagles
  15. I know it's not supposed to be taken seriously, but not having Watson starting kinda ruins the potential intrigue of Browns v Texans. Also, does anyone really care if Mike McCarthy beats the Packers 5 years later? The only one of those matchups that genuinely has a cool story line is Lions vs Rams. Tyreek going back to KC is neat, but I guess I just don't care that much 😅
  16. I want the Chiefs visiting Buffalo. Get that monkey off our back. Allen won't be changing the "turnover machine" narrative any time soon, but he can change the narrative around losing to the Chiefs in the playoffs. It would also give Allen & the Bills a 4-3 head-to-head record against the Chiefs in the process.
  17. Allen had a worse day than him, maybe we should bench him? 🙄
  18. Or you know, our QB turns it over every time we're within striking distance of actually scoring points.
  19. It probably drives him crazy that this entire season has been like this.
  20. But is it? Huh... I must be watching a different game than you again.
  21. I think it's time people accept that Allen hit his ceiling. He's only gotten worse over the years. To win a SB with him would require an offensive genius OC & a ton of weapons that can carry Josh.
  22. Again, impossible for Josh to go without throwing picks. Complain about "the narrative," but it is earned.
  23. It was only 3 of 6 losses. Jets, Jags & Bengals he didn't walk off the field with a lead , but yeah... he definitely deserves a lot of the blame for the other 3 losses too. Patriots: 1 INT / 1 Fumble - losing the entire game until 1:58 left in the 4th (at the time, they were considered the worst team in the league) Broncos: 2 INTs / 1 Fumble - losing the entire game until 1:55 left in the 4th Eagles: He did great overall, so he doesn't deserve much blame for this loss. The INT really hurt, but he did played about as well as you could hope otherwise But regarding the OP's point, this is the narrative around Allen. I get downvoted like crazy any time I bring it up, but you can't go anywhere online talking about Allen without a chorus of people telling you he's a turnover machine that chokes in big moments.
