The browns missed out on Wentz and they are going to draft Allen because of his potential. Not a big surprise here. Curious to see what Buffalo does and who they value most.

So does NYG and Buffalo both want Darnold? Is Gettleman just playing the game to get Beane to pay a lot for him. If Darnold is on the board at 2 I could see Buffalo making an offer Gettleman could not refuse. Darnold would come in and most likely beat out Mcarron and I think he will do great things for the franchise.

Who is the last qb that was good who wore a head band?

Let the record I'm against trade into top 6 due to price

Each is entitled to their own opinion. If Buffalo stays at 12 and they miss out on the top 5 Qbs I will lose a lot of the early favor Beane has brought with him. Buffalo has not had a Franchise qb at minimum since Bledsoe. He was already on the down side of his career. The last Qb drafted and was a franchise Qb was taken over 30 years ago. in modern day football Buffalo has never draft a QB within the first 10 picks. That correlates to why Buffalo has had 1 franchise Qb. I dont really care it its 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 go get the guy you have faith in and get the franchsie going towards a contender not a middling team looking to back into a wildcard spot. -
When I watch Allen's games I do not see an erratic thrower of the football. He makes a handful of NFL level throws every game and puts them on the money. Throws the other prospect have not and some can not make. He is a once a generation talent. He is not a finish product. He also seems to have improved the areas in his footwork that at times made him throw inaccurate when he was not in balance. Same can be said about footwork with every prospect not named Rosen. Imo Beane will see a Newton caliber of athlete and potential. If Allen does not go 1 that is the guy they will move up for. There is a chance Rosen or Mayfeild will be there at 4 and would come at a fraction of the price of 2. When you are forgoing multiple prospects for a QB if they have all the tools and are the type of prospect that come around once every 7 years years interns of ability and potential I think that is the type of prospect to take that chance with.

The more I think about the more likley I believe Allen would be the guy Beane and co would go all in for. Rare size and ability. A type of Qb who wont be in a draft for 10 years. Hes the guy they go for imo.

Sal C: Broncos Love Mason Rudolph
Mat68 replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He cant really throw outside the numbers with any accuracy. Im concerned about his arm strength more so than any other qb. The reason Allen is so highly thought of is his money throw is an out. Every game he throws lazers to the sticks from the far hash on the money. Thats the hardest/ riskiest throw in football. Thats takes pro level anticipation and accuracy for it not to be a pick 6. That is a throw Rudolph stuggles with, even near side. -
Not the biggest, not strongest, not the best athlete, not the strongest arm, not the most upside. He is just the most technical and hes has some injury history. I think he is the surest thing if he avoids injury.

The Wunderlich test for quarterbacks

Having his mother as his agent will cost him more money then the actual cost of hiring an agent. -
No. I expect the team would take a step or two backwards with Mccarron as starter.

Bucky Brooks: Book on Lamar Jackson
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only thing stopping me from being all in on him at 12 is how terribly he has handled the draft process. I do not know how he will handle being a professional athlete and face of a franchise. -
What Defines Success For A Franchise QB
Mat68 replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Simply, week in week you know if protected he will play in a manner that will lead to winning the game. There are different shapes and sizes but you feel barring injury he is the Qb of your team for the next 10 years. -
This is what I've been saying all along....

Is Rosen, Allen, Darnold, or Mayfield 2 1s a 2nd and a third better than Lamar Jackson? Maybe, maybe not. Their #1 to me is Darnold. I could see Buffalo going big for him at 2. The others Im not sure they would be willing to pay thay steep price. -
This is the time of year where everything you here is wrong. What teams thought before the combine is still closer to what is real. IF Buffalo leaves the draft with any of the top 5 Qbs I will be happy. The questions is which one do they covet and what are they willing to give up to get them,. The more time goes on i think the Bills have it some combination of Darnold, Allen, and Jackson. I could be wrong. Rosen could be in there or Mayfield but Beane is a height weight speed guy and they are the ones that check off those boxes.
-
If this was 2008 i think Rosen would be the unquestioned pick. Since Big Ben teams love the guys who can make something from nothing and the ultimate embody of that is Allen. I will peg Beane a genius if he gets Rosen and keeps 22. For that to happen Rosen would need to get through the first 5 picks. I think Buffalo wants him but is also scared off by the price tag at 2. Getting him at 4 is much cheaper and past 5 best case scenerio but for me unlikley.

Ive come away from watching those guys in a similar vain. I am curious as to why you picked the OSU game for Darnold. For the other players you picked more favorable film.

DRAFTING TOP 5 QBs NOT REALLY A "CRAPSHOOT"
Mat68 replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Need good coaching, and a good Qb. By trading Taylor, and signing Mccarron to a prove it backup deal Buffalo is taking a Qb early. The questions are which one they like most, whats their Qb ranking and where to they go to get the guy. -
McDermott: NFL is a “drop-back league”
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every qb has to win in the pocket. If they draft Jackson or Allen they are obviously comfortable with their accuracy and ability inside the pocket. I dont know which way they are going to go. I think the cost of moving up to 2 is becoming too steep. I expect Buffalo to move up but where and for who is the queations. -
Petrinos offense is a pro concept passing attack. Jackson is far more accurate that his 59% would tell you. His adjusted completion % makes the most improvement than any other qb in draft. Imo Baker will struggle inside an NFL pocket. When the play breaks down he wont get away from NFL defenders. Also, Jackson does not have a video of him getting tackled by cop.
-
If this was all true why does Jackson have about the same ypa as Rosen? The guy with the best ball placement in the draft? As a passer he is just as accomplished as Rosen. When he runs hes more accomplished than Saquan Barkley. I fail to see that as a negetive. When you get a guy who can beat you in the pocket and the open feild there is no defense for it.
