I think the losing also really took its toll on Whitner here also. On a better team he seemed to perk up as a player.

If you have fun with it, get something out of it, find it to be a nice distraction, or a host of other reasons that a mock draft makes your day then yep. I read them but don't put much stock into it. No one really knows until draft night, but it is a fun read for 5 minutes.

It was more based off where I think they place not talent. As I said virtually no year do the best 14 teams make the playoffs, luck good and bad factors in a lot. Who would you put as #1? Not meant as a slight I am curious. To me Buffalo has a roster that is most complete, they have the experience, and they have the coaching. I would 100% understand if someone said LAC or DEN, but to me the Bills have proven more then either of those teams at this time. If LAC/DEN finished as the 1 I wouldn't be surprised at all.

I agree nothing is a certainty, but Bills have the second easiest division both talent and QB wise after AFC South which def helps. In the end I always comeback to QB play as the barometer for where teams finish out. BUF's ace in the hole is having an elite QB when in division no one else does. The AFC West and AFC North races will be blood baths this year.

If KC can add a plug and play WR too in the draft it could really mute the impact. One thing I will forever remember one of the NFL analysts saying was that a players impact W/L wise that was not a QB was maybe one more win whereas a elite QB being out is like a 4-5 game swing W/L wise. Andy Reid is a superb offensive mind and if he can get another FA WR along with a young stud WR round 1 I can def see the impact being far more muted. The offense is going to change no doubt, I think it is more how long it takes to get clicking then anything else.

I don't think it is out of contention as much as attrition finally catches them a bit with a hyper improved division, 1st place schedule, restructured offense, and four years of extra playoff games which does have an impact. I also think long term the amount of picks they have could open a larger window to win then had they kept Hill. NE has a great coach and awful GM They are always a tough out and even thought talent wise they are really behind the rest of the AFC, BB is a master at getting the most out of his team. PIT is a massive wildcard and could easily get back into it..

I don't disagree with your thoughts on KC. Right now anyone who would argue against really any of those 4 teams winning the division or making the playoffs is wrong as they all have a ton of talent. I just think the attrition of free agency, four years worth of playoff games, and the division finally rising in talent catches them at the end. I still would expect come weeks 16-17-18 KC has a shot. Titans are my team that if they moved divisions I think they are 3rd or 4th anywhere else, BUT their style of play and Jax/Hou rebuilding gives them enough wins to inflate their total.

Gotta think schedule more then talent. Rarely do the top 14 teams make the playoffs talent wise. MIA is certainly better then NYJ and NE at this point and if they go 4-0 there they need 5 wins out of 12.

After Hill's trade today rank the AFC as you see it at this point for 2022 (yes I understand draft still needs to happen). Here are my thoughts: 1. BUF 13-4 After everything that has happened most complete team right now 2. DEN 12-5 I trust Wilson over LAC for division 3. BAL 11-5 Historic amount of injuries last year, they will bounce back 4. TEN 10-7 They've bled some depth but I trust them over IND more right now 5. LAC 12-5 Tie breaker for division so they are WC and really good 6. CIN 10-7 They get the WC and start on the road this playoff year. Their rivals have all gotten better 7. MIA 10-7 Similar to the Patriots last year a soft schedule compared to AFCW or AFCN foes will gift wins even though talent wise teams 8-10 are better IMO. ------ playoff cut off ------- 8. CLE 9-8 Watson is going to be suspended for at least 4-6 games if not more. That's too many games in division this competitive 9. OAK 9-8 I think that QB wise their third in division and the attrition inside will hurt their playoff chances more then talent 10. KC 9-8 They have bled a lot of free agents as the cap has not been nice and their division is insane. Hill leaving though makes it a tough sell to see them up top 11. IND 8-9 Matt Ryan is on the backside of his career and has been for years. He couldn't take advantage of the weapons he had in ATL the last few years and has less in IND 12. JAX 8-9 Competent coaching will do wonders for Trevor who takes steps forward. After hearing very thing Urban did its a miracle he didn't retire at QB 13. PIT 7-10 Mitch its not personal just business and they have the 4th best QB in a division that is quite solid. 14. NE 7-10 Teams year 1 with new free agents gain on average 3 wins, next year they lose that gain. Additionally the rest of the division is only better and nothing has been done to help make Mac's life easier. 15. NYJ 5-12 Their defense will play better this year, but their offense is still ways behind the rest of the AFC plus Zach Wilson needs to take some major steps to show life. 16. HOU 4-13 They are slowly rebuilding what they had it will just take time.

It's funny I use to get realllyyyy upset about not getting primetime games. Then 2020 happened and all of December was at night and yea I was good with maybe 2-3 primetime games and the rest 1pm haha. Also kids happened which makes a 1pm game perfect with nap time lol

I hear that. Watching them play is like watching the drought Bills of 07-10, its mind numbingly bad. If I had to rank the teams that are most tiring to watch on primetime it would go like this: Bears Jets Cowboys Two of the three are scheduled wayyyy too often because of market and Dallas the NFL would put on at night all 17 games if they could. My buddy who is a cowboy fan stopped ordering the NFL package because something like 13 of 16 games were on national broadcast so he was wasting money just to see them.

A guy like an AJ Bouye will be available for not a bunch who they sign and then draft CB round 1 or 2 to groom.

I guess I am the second category but for me 13 seconds don't matter. They blew it straight up, but that was also last season. Each season is its own fire with trials and tribulations, some years easy then others. A season like 2020 is not something that happens regularly where you can basically run the table with little resistance for the division, 2021 is far more normal even for great teams where there are more ups and downs to get to the finish line in 1st divisionally ready to go playoff wise. Additionally even if you run it back with a similar roster that team will still be different in composure and energy no matter what. I think every season you enter is its own entity and you always need to approach it with the idea of creating the best roster possible. The Bills are a SB contender so yea any year you don't win the SB it should be considered a blown opportunity whether it is 13 seconds or losing the AFC title game by a wider margin. In regards to roster construction though some years it is easier to be aggressive and add a true difference maker or two vs some years where you have attrition of varying levels. My personal belief is they have approached this offseason properly so far to make the necessary cuts while shoring areas of need at OL and DT 2x. I really would like a true difference maker at DE like Jones or Hunter so the kids like Rosseau, Boggie, & AJ can have a seasoned guy in front. That would open the draft to WR/CB big time which there is a lot of talent for. You can get a vet CB even late if they need to shore up CB2. Truthfully since they took over McBeane there hasn't been an offseason I didn't at least like what they attempted to do. Some years went better (2019/20) compared to others (18/21) but I have never thought mgmt has shy'd away from knowing their areas of weakness and addressing it. In terms of moving the franchise forward and setting Josh up for success 2019 is one of the teams best offseasons ever as Morse/Beasely/J Brown/Feliciano all played big roles in helping Josh find his way. Sure we only have Morse and Beasley left (who is probably gone) but they were all good signings to move things along. To me the draft is far more important this year as if they can find 2-3 true starters at WR/CB especially it really gives you strong cheap talent which will allow the next off season or two you to be more aggressive at areas of need.

The draft has been late april for a few years now. The NFL's goal is to make football every month and they basically are there now: Jan-Playoffs Feb- SB Mar- Combine/free agency Apr- Draft May- Schedule June- Blank July- Camps August- Preseason Sept-Dec - Regular season Outside of June they have every month covered and June historically is NBA/NHL finals so eyes are focused more there anyway

Yep May 12th. Reason release was backed up was so they could build schedule factoring in draft additions. The NFL is trying to maximize its TV schedule and by always do schedule prior to draft they would lose out on potential better TV matchups. While I wish it was back in April like before, I get it and it beats the days we got Titans Jags on TNF just because.

I personally think he is the best WR in this draft. Watched a bunch of his games and was most impressed.

With Rodgers back with GB the home schedule is more appetizing for night as you got GB/NE/TEN plus CLE/PIT always seem to be in the running for games. The road schedule I think is still superior for which gets primetime as you got LAR/CIN/BAL/NE/KC plus CHI who seems to always get a million night games. My guess right now is five primetime games with 2 home and 3 away: Home: GB -SNF TEN - MNF Away: NE-MNF CIN-TNF LAR- SNF KC will be a 4:25 game I think as I could see CBS/FOX wanting it for their main afternoon marquee game after two years of the game being at night. The TV companies fight like lions for those marquee games and I can easily see after two years of it being a night game it going to a 4 pm spot. Baltimore I could also see as a 4pm game too.

Oh yea for sure, just know a lot of people wonder how many primetimers you actually can have. I am fine with 3-4 so its maybe 1 a month.

This is the first time I have seen this, Peter King Confirmed this morning that at the start of the NFL season a team is allowed to be in up to 6 primetime games with the prospect of being flexed into a 7th. This does not count 4pm marquee games.
