Watched the Ravens game again last night. Really excited about Shakir. He only made a couple of plays, but they were both really key plays & he showed a lot of skill w/ each - both in getting open, and making great moves once he had the ball. And man, did we get a little lucky on that Poyer INT in the EZ. The receiver was so wide open - but our pass rush kept Jackson from putting enough on the ball, so it floated and gave Poyer time to get there. Actually, that isn't lucky. Our pass rush forced the bad throw. We're great.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol

I mean, that would really suck if he's right about that. I hope he's not, but health should always come first. -
Who Has The Bills' Best D-Lineman So Far, Von Miller or Greg Rousseau?
Success replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you focus on Groot during games, it's pretty amazing what he's doing. He is a total disruptor. I think Von has elevated his play & everyone else's - but Groot is a keeper for sure. I see him anchoring that line for years, and creating a similar dynamic that we had w/ Kelly & Bruce Smith. Not that everything is comparable to old Bills teams, but it's that kind of thing where he'll be a huge difference-maker on D, and Allen will lead a record-breaking O. -
I never really understood the "controversy" around Edmunds. He came into the league at a very young age. He has developed and is playing great. I don't think he ever played "bad." Beane has some tough decisions to make, and this is one of 'em. We can't lock in every good to great player we have - but Edmunds is absolutely worth keeping if we can afford it.

Quarter Pole: Unexpected Results Around the League
Success replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I probably stop by the Patriots boards too much - but the role reversal we've had w/ them is entertaining. They're celebrating moral victories, complaining about how Mahomes & Allen receive preferential "star" treatment from the refs, and now they have a budding "QB controversy," starring 2 mediocre QB's. They're also starting to talk about the 2023 draft in October. It's kind of surreal to read. You would have seen most of the same sentiments on here a decade ago. -
Edmunds…back to back good games. Facts. (Update: Another good game)

He's not just playing great - it feels like he's one of the leaders out there. I hope they can keep him long-term. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - They Are Who We Thought They Were
Success replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I enjoy these - really good write-up. The entire D was spectacular yesterday, and deserve credit for the win. Holding the Ravens scoreless for a half+ and giving our O a chance to catch up was the key to the game. But I'm glad you mentioned Edmunds individually - he's been playing at a very high level and deserves praise. It's going to make for a tough decision in the near future. Just a gutty win, though. I'm glad they had that experience. I'm sure there will be a few more this season, but blowing teams out every week isn't great prep for the playoffs. Games like last week and yesterday will pay dividends down the line. -
We've got guys on the PS who they can call up. Hopefully both McKenzie and Kumerow will be back soon, also.

It certainly seems like we're being hit hard right now - but outside of Hyde (which is obviously a huge loss), it looks like most of the hurt players will find their way back this season. I think we have enough depth where it won't be too much of a negative impact in the regular season. Just have to hope that we're as healthy as we can be come playoff time.

Thinking more about it, I lied before. I said that I don't do strategic rooting this early in the season. But really, I am. I'm pulling for the Chiefs because Brady is STILL the monster in the closet for me. The Bills can lose to anyone - they did last week, and could have today. But when they're on their game, I fear no other team. But I do fear Brady. If we get to the SB, I don't want 2 weeks of hearing about his record against Buffalo. And I don't want to face a guy who has been there 10 times. The further the Bucs can get from the 1 seed in the NFC, the better I'll feel about Buffalo's prospects. Obviously, it would be cathartic to beat him there. But I still want to avoid it. I just want a normal Super Bowl, without the additional psychological stuff.

I don't disrespect your choice to pull for the Bucs. I'm just not doing it. And it's not a big deal. If the Chiefs win tonight, it will have nothing to do w/ who I decided to pull for. The discussion on this thread is a bit surprising. The idea that I'm less of a Bills fan or something because I don't want Brady to win this one is a bit mystifying. I'll keep it quiet though.
-
And you just keep mischaracterizing what I'm saying. Give me a break. Sorry that it got you so riled up. I'm not rooting for KC to get "home field advantage." I'm rooting for Brady to lose. It sounds a lot like you have no faith in our Bills to beat KC and take the 1 seed. I don't share that perspective.
-
If I'm really thinking long view on this one - the last thing I want when the Bills make their 1st SB in 3 decades is hearing 2 weeks about their "one final demon" and the lopsided record Brady had over the Bills for 20 years. So, I'm personally happy the further the Bucs get from the 1 seed in the NFC.
-
He's not "gone." He's still the favorite to face up against the Bills in the SB.
-
I never thought rooting for Tom Brady to lose would be so controversial.
-
Yes. Because my rooting interest doesn't change that.
-
It doesn't matter who we root for. At all. Unless there is some quantum physics thing we don't know about. It's just more fun rooting against Brady. And if he ends up winning, the silver lining (for me) is possibly a slight advantage for the Bills w/ KC losing. But I'd rather root for Brady to lose.
-
I don't get caught up in a lot of "strategic" rooting this early in the season. If the Bills are as good as I think they are, none of that matters anyway. Going against the Bucs only means that I don't like Brady & the Bucs more than I don't like Mahomes and the Chiefs. Pretty simple.
-
Same. I'm 100% rooting against the Bucs tonight.
