  1. I'm surprised at this board. Beane knows what he's doing. He's not going to force a trade on an already stacked team just to "do something." His acquisitions have been very calculated, and very strategic. He doesn't part with draft picks foolishly.
  2. Fans there can't stand it. He's one of their few playmakers when he's out there. But Bill has some sort of weird Bill thing w/ him.
  3. Here's the deal w/ the rematch against the Dolphins - they won't be able to enjoy spending most of the game in weather that's over 10 degrees cooler than the opposing team. They gotta come to the cold. I wonder if we can prevent them from using heaters on the sideline, just for a little tit for tat?
  4. Good. Better chance they can beat KC in the playoffs before they even get to us.
  5. "Mediocre" is an inaccurate characterization. We tend to always judge players more on where they were picked, or the capital we invested in them, instead of on their own merits. I can accept that he may not have lived up to the draft position & trade for that position yet. But he's a very good player, and a key part of our defense. He's not mediocre.
  6. What I liked about Cook's game last night is that it wasn't one of those things where he had some gaping holes and just burst through them, as any RB should. He really showed how shifty and creative he can be once he gets the ball in his hands. And he's had a handful of plays prior to last night where the potential was pretty visible. With the way Singletary is playing and Cook is emerging, I think we could easily stand pat and be fine. But I trust the Bills' braintrust, and if they make a move, I'll be stoked.
  7. One phrase that we truly haven't celebrated the demise of - "Same ol' Bills." Couldn't stand it when people said that (though, it applied for years).
  8. I don't necessarily disagree in terms of keeping him here. We're getting to that point of talent on the team where Beane has to make some difficult decisions about who stays & who goes. Someone will likely overpay Edmunds, and we have other players who should be bigger priorities. I just appreciate what he has brought to the team, and I love the combo of him w/ Milano. I think he has a ton of talent and his effort is always there. He's still pretty young - it wouldn't surprise me a bit if he went to another team and we saw posts on here about how great he was playing somewhere else.
  9. Every player has rough moments. The important question is - is that a consistent thing, or anomaly? I remember Brian Urlacher getting bowled over on a play. He just had bad position to make the tackle. It happens in a fast-moving game. Edmunds has been one of our most impactful defenders. His play has been outstanding this season. He's playing up to his draft position, but I do feel like once a player becomes one of "those guys" for the fanbase, it's hard to really turn the perception around.
  10. Man, I thought the AFC was STACKED in the offseason. I thought the Bengals were on the level of KC, along w/ the Chargers, Colts, Broncos, etc. We're so much better than most of these teams. 2 obvious caveats: KC is still rightthere, and 'any given Sunday.' But we're in a great position right now.
  11. Our secondary is arguably the deepest in the NFL when Tre comes back. We have guys on the roster right now who can fill in if needed.
  12. Obviously, a preposterous thread. Beane is a wizard. He has been very calculating with player acquisition, and always had an eye toward succeeding today, but also building a model of sustainable success. I expect nothing at this trade deadline. We already have the best team in the NFL. I want to have that not just this year and next year - but also 5 and 10 years down the line. I want to maximize every single one of Josh Allen's years as a Bill. Because we will never have a QB like this again.
  13. We do have a ton of depth in the secondary. It's actually pretty amazing. I expect them to utilize that talent in some way once Tre gets back. Not sure what that will be - but I trust them to get it right.
  14. By "bad," do you mean "not at all"?
  15. I'm a Yankees fan, so say this from experience - I'd hate to see us become Yankees fans. We're not even close right now, but you do see hints of it. A SB win, and we'll be much further along that road. Fans should just enjoy the game, for good or bad. When you have a great team and high expectations, it can sometimes really diminish that experience. The best teams in history made all kinds of mistakes, and had bad games. Last night wasn't even a bad game - we were just sloppy, but it was after we built an insurmountable lead.
  16. No such thing as a bad win. Tonight's "ugly" looked a whole lot better than most Bills football I've seen this millenium. Stuff to learn from. We're loaded w/ talent - just have to tighten things up.
  17. Took a few years - but I'm glad they discovered the QB sneak.
  18. This is where great teams grind out the clock and end the game. The D has been on the field a LONG time tonight.
  19. It woke me up. So, there's that.
  20. There are playmakers everywhere on this team.
  21. Great run. Precisely why I disapproved of that mocking thread about him - he makes mistakes, but he also comes through.
  22. Cook looks for real out there - making moves & breaking tackles. Great burst.
  23. No defense for that pass & catch. Like the kick in the 1st "Karate Kid." Good test. Let's respond.
  24. Turns out - this didn't matter at all. Both teams are kinda bad.
