I just don't see how the #1 seed can be a "pipe dream" when as of this moment, we're the #1 seed. The rest of the conference is chasing Buffalo. Not the other way around. If you want to project that we'll have more losses the rest of the way than a team like KC, who have a slightly harder schedule (imo), that's just pessimistic.
-
It doesn't - but it's a factor. Ultimately, it just comes down to how I feel about this team. I think we're more the team from the TN blowout & the clutch KC win, than the team from the weird Phins loss and Sunday's loss to the Jets.
-
The schedule, the team's talent level, the nature of their 2 losses, the level of competitiveness in the league, how we've responded to adversity in the past.
-
No, we certainly don't. But the point is that teams adapt to other strengths that they have. Tennessee found a way to be in the game for the full 60 against KC, even though they completed 5 passes. We have much more talent than TN overall, and Keenum has led a team to the playoffs in his career. He's not a scrub, and he doesn't stink.

I think this team is about to go on a run similar to what they did after the "Hail Murray." It's not like our losses were blowouts that would make you re-think how good this team really is. We're as good as anyone, and better than most.

On to Minnesota (get this game in the rear view mirror!)

Cousins can be scary. He's a capable QB, but generally not fear-inducing. Still, every once in awhile he really seems locked in and plays at an elite level. -
If the playoffs started today, they'd be the 1 seed. Nothing needs to be fixed, imo.

I guess it's a day for overreactions. Shut Allen down for the season? It's time to dial back on saying he'll be elite for however many years? Cripes. I'm not saying he'll be fine, because we don't know. But it just sounds precautionary now, and he did throw an insanely long pass on the last play yesterday.

A "credit to the Jets - that's a good team" thread

I don't disagree, and I usually can't stand sports cliches like that. But to my eyes, they had more energy. That is not scientific, at all - but it was the impression I had all game. The Bills looked flat by comparison. -

When a great offense falls apart - the defense they're facing sometimes has a bit to do w/ that. -
A guy on WGR said it pretty well this morning

I feel like many fans are watching the NFL for the 1st time. If great teams over the years never lost a few games to lesser teams (a.k.a. had a "clunker"), then we wouldn't have to endure seeing the '72 Dolphins celebrate every time the last undefeated team loses a game. -
Coaching Staff has to take a huge blame for yesterday
Success replied to BillyBilliams's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll get some negative reactions - but we do not have great coaching. We have good coaching. And that's alright. It's hard to find a truly great coach, and I would say there are very few in the league right now. But our coaches are just a little above average, imo. They gameplan well, and make decent adjustments, but they're never going to be transcendent or "wow" us.
