Are people really that unhappy with our 4-2 Bills?
Success replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I saw that Milano & Jones were "out for the season" on another Bills site this morning. Do you know if that's really fact at this point? I was under the impression that the Bills had NOT ruled either out for the whole season yet. -
If the Bills Don’t Make it to the AFCCG, Should McDermott Be Fired?
Success replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some fans don't understand how good McD is. I don't think he's great. But I'd also put about 2 coaches in the league in the "great" category right now. If anyone watches other games on Sundays, it's pretty bleak out there. There is a LOT of bad coaching in the league.. And just to echo sentiments already expressed - who do you replace him with? If it's someone unproven - and the vast majority of candidates will fit that description - you could really take a left turn, and then you would really be wasting years while we have Allen. -
After nine games, where do you think the Bills end up this season?
Success replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Super Bowl - which is what I've thought all year. But I feel better about it looking around the league. No one is that good. -
Week 7 Bills @ Patriots - on to Foxborough!
Success replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Pats run against us during the drought was insanely lopsided. A run of dominance that is rare in sports. Pretty quietly, the Bills are moving to do the reverse of that, with the Pats only win in the last 7 games coming as a result of hurricane force winds. It's hard to imagine them beating us this year, and from the looks of it, they'll be starting from scratch (at least at QB) next year. Still a ways to go to match the record they had against us w/ Brady, but in the Allen era, I could see us having a similar lopsided record when all is said & done. -
Reminder: 38-10. 37-3. 48-20. Plus, the Bills WON on Sunday.

It's good to remember. Against the Giants, we drove to their side of the field pretty often - but were derailed there by mistakes most of the time. 2 missed FG's, and one punt that should have been another attempt. One tipped pass for INT, and the fumble from Davis when we were rolling on a drive. There was also the PI that wasn't called. Seemed like almost a "Murphy's Law" kind of thing where just about every drive was undone w/ errors. But it wasn't like we couldn't move the ball. -
Where are you at this brand new “No running Josh” ?
Success replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm torn on it. Sometimes when I'm watching the games, it seems like he's thinking too much - you can almost see the conflicting signals going on in his thought process, where his instinct is to run, but he's been told every day, "don't run!" Based on that alone, it would be easy to say "let Josh be Josh," and just have him go back to what he's used to. But, there is also a hope that as time goes on, it becomes a more automatic thing that he doesn't have to think about as much, and he can get into the flow of the game more easily. That said - it has tilted too far in the 'no running' direction. He needs to find a happy medium, where he runs like most other QB's - when it's there. -
Man - I checked a few Pats boards, and already lost count of the bitter, past-obsessed sentiments of "remind Bills fans they have 0 Super Bowls, and we have 6." Pre-game cope knowing that they have the ol' snowball's chance on Sunday. I knew I'd enjoy the day when all they can talk about is how good they USED to be. Gonna appreciate every one of these match-ups while we have Allen.

I usually say "we got this" in those kinds of situations at the end of games - and we lose more often than not. This time, I said "I can't believe we're gonna lose another one of these" after that PI call that put the ball at the 1. You're welcome.

Elam improved quite a bit over last week, imo. Still not where we'd want him to be, but hopefully he just needs more experience.

What is going on with the offensive juggernauts?
Success replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every case is different, imo. I think KC is no longer a juggernaut. Their WR corps is weak. I think Cincy's issues can largely be traced to Burrow's injury. With Buffalo, it's been a rough couple of weeks. But the 3 weeks prior were all pretty stellar. So, we're inconsistent. I think last night might have been different if a few plays didn't happen (the tipped ball for INT, the Davis fumble). Seemed like we got on the Giants' side of the field plenty, but just fizzled out w/ turnovers or missed FG's. -
We've been on the wrong side of plenty of bad officiating - I'll take this one as a make up. Definitely understand the Giants & their fans being upset about this.

This is what will need to happen to sustain success while we have Allen. It's a good sign. Beane is hitting on a lot of draft picks now, imo.
-
Just read that he was released from the hospital - he has pain in his neck, but "otherwise is going to be fine." Another report said it's a neck sprain. Best possible news if true, imo.

I'll take a worst win over a worst loss, any ol' day.

I'll probably get some eyerolls - but I'm a Saleh fan. He has changed the culture there, dramatically. I think they found a good coach. Comments like the one in the OP are part of the change in attitude. I don't mind it, and it gives Allen some more motivation for the next one.

I thought one of the biggest positives from that ugly game was the LB play. Both of these guys seemed like they were all over the field, all night. Just flying to where the ball was and making plays. It seems like what we lack in size in the LB unit, we make up for in speed. I didn't really notice Milano's absence. Williams seemed like a vet out there. Curious if anyone/everyone saw it the same way I did. There were mistakes, like Bernard's PI in the endzone that almost really cost the team, but overall I thought both guys were excellent.

Taylor did everything he could yesterday. Considering the state of that O-line and who his receivers are, I thought he was pretty spectacular. The G-men should have probably won that game. The decisions to pass at the end of both halves cost them at least 1 TD, and probably 2.
-
I'm not too keen on the Pats getting Maye or Williams - but they might. Still, no guarantee either guy will be good in the pros. Seems like lately, most of the hyped prospects have fallen short of expectations.

Shotgun on the half yard line. I repeat: shotgun on the half yard line.
-
Was Elam ok or could the Giants just not take advantage of him?
Success replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was happy to see that he was step for step w/ the receiver on one of the long pass attempts they had near the end. Like you said, I didn't notice him otherwise, which is probably good. -
We peaked early last season. Maybe it's a flip this season. It's been the case for a lot of title teams that they had a few games like yesterday. I agree it's concerning on the heels of the Jags game, but the main thing right now is that we're 4-2. We CAN have games like the Miami game. Dorsey has to improve. The playbook seems too thin right now, and plays like going shotgun on the half yard line are just head-scratching.

We need another weapon...and dorsey is a tool
Success replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
What IS Dorsey's offense? The playbook seems really thin, and the in-game decision making is more than questionable. -
Hope we get some good news on this tomorrow. The thumbs up was encouraging.

We've really come full circle when Pats fans coming off a loss to go to 1-5 are complaining about the Bills getting top contender treatment from the refs.

Any word on Brown? I think he got hurt when the defender kicked him in the knee during that big scrum.
