Vikes/Bills SB still on the table....

Devils advocate...what is Josh is the problem?
Success replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would call this take pretty fair. I think that distracted thing is him thinking too much. I do think he has been coached and reminded constantly to avoid running - they even talked about that a few times in the offseason. So, his instinct is telling him one thing, and this sort of artificial reprogramming is giving him a conflicting message. Just from what I see, it seems to have taken some of the joy of playing away for him. And that's one of his best characteristics when he's playing well - he's like a big kid. I remember one time he ran last year and took a pretty hard tackle, and he got up just smiling. It was great. I'm really hoping that they realize the "no running" experiment is failing, and get him back to playing his game. -
Why the Bills don't care and neither should you

I mean, even in the Pats dynasty runs, they had trouble w/ bad Jets & Phins teams (not the Bills, sadly). Division games can be weird, and are often close regardless of talent disparities. -

Oh, dear - Cincy has injuries? Wouldn't know about that. We've been SO healthy this year. -

Who knows on that last line. People say stuff like that all the time after a bad loss, but the NFL is always weird. Look at the Niners tonight. And Cincy? I can see saying that about KC right now, but Cincy's problems are similar to ours at the moment. -

"Awful" is a stretch. He made big plays when it counted in all 3 games. He led what should have been a game-winning comeback yesterday. He was all kinds of clutch yesterday in that 2nd half, and looked like classic JA evading a fierce pass rush. And man, that throw to Diggs on the 2nd to last play. That would have made things pretty interesting if Diggs pulls it in. -

What's the context? JA's protection broke down almost immediately on some plays. The line play was the worst it's been this year. Excuses, excuses - but it's hard to survey the field for the open guys when Barmore is in your face all day. -
Ya never know - they could be peaking early. But right now, it does look like they're gonna coast.

I'd rather play the Chiefs in the divisional than in the AFCCG. Looks good.

Here is how I would fix the offense (Listen up Dorsey)
Success replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's how the ol' K-Gun started. We were down 14-0 to the Jets, and the offense was stagnant. -
I wish we had a couple of those in the playbook. There really hasn't been anything like that. Just one of those a game can keep a D on its toes.

LOL JA is to Wright what Lebron is to Skip. Dude is obsessed. -
Was Elam ok or could the Giants just not take advantage of him?
Success replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seeing Zack Moss thrive w/ the Colts (as well as Teller & a few other notables) makes me wonder if we manage our players well.. Like Dorian Williams getting pulled the past couple of weeks. Sometimes, you have to ride w/ players who are more talented but inexperienced - so they get that experience. I wish Elam was starting. Tre is out, he's a 1st rounder. If they can't make it work, it feels like that's more on the staff than on Elam. -
I mean, I have issues w/ McD....but answers in a presser? Belichick was the greatest coach ever, and if anyone can get a coherent thought out of the mumble salads he provides, I'd be amazed.

2 things are true: Knox is overpaid, and he's also valuable to the offense. In no way is this a good thing. I hope we can get him back soon. This season, man. I was hoping for a "healthy" year after last season. Alas.

Could this be the 3-layer chess thing that Spock used to play? Mac gets back on track. The Pats lose out on the Williams/Maye sweepstakes. Mac does just enough to get an extension next year, a la Danny Jones. Mac reverts back to form, and the Pats are stuck w/ him for years.

Lucky to win 3 more games? That's much more outlandish than saying they might be able to go 8-2 the rest of the way.

Nicely put together. And some of it is obvious. I'd like to see more no-huddle, too. Just throw it in there once in awhile - especially when the offense isn't doing well. And we NEVER do any trick plays. It's good to have a couple in the playbook, and most other teams do. -

I saw on one of the shows that he had to hurry his throws over 40% of the time. For whatever reason, protection broke down yesterday. -
The Eagles lose to KC in the postseason just like we do.

Jones had so much time. And that's the scouting for him. He's great w/ a clean pocket. He falters when pressured & when he has to improvise. But our offense being inept for a half let their offense set the tone, and the pace. If our offense gets up on them early, it could have made them more one-dimensional.
-
I was hoping we'd see a "player's only" kind of meeting. People can roll their eyes, but this kind of thing HAS worked. It can really clear the air on a lot of stuff, and hopefully the guys can get back to playing a little more loose, and having more fun out there.

Did Thursday's game vs Bucs influence our play vs. Pats?
Success replied to VW82's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. But, we were on a path after the Miami game. The Jags game put us on a different path, that we have been stuck on. We really need to get back on that other path, starting w/ the Bucs game. We picked up some weird negative momentum, and it can shift just as easily. But it needs a nudge. -
Ndamukong Suh would like to play this season - Any interest?
Success replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wish we knew timelines on Ford & Milano, and even if they'll make it back. It sounds like they're holding out hope for both. But right now, we probably need another piece on D. I don't know if Suh is it. I'd probably look more at CB or LB. I feel like our line is okay when Oliver is in there - missing him yesterday really hurt.
