What's on Your Menu for the Cinci Bengals Game?
Success replied to HIT BY SPIKES's topic in The Stadium Wall
Burgers. Which maybe sounds boring, but in the end - what is better than a burger? Wings, possibly. But it's a short list. -
Any word on Benford? Norman being active is a little concerning. Though, I think he can do a decent enough job. On defense, I think this game comes down more to the line being able to get to Burrow and be disruptive..
-
Feel the same way about the Pats. I was stunned we let that one slip away - but I don't think the players see that game the same way as the fans. We will beat them at home by at least 2 scores. No doubt on that one. The positive is that the win they got, combined w/ a few other meaningless ones this season, will take them out of the top QB sweepstakes in the next draft..

Wouldn't it be cool to make $98,000,000?

Man, I really don't like how it's becoming some sort of consensus that JA is 3rd behind Mahomes & Burrow. Mahomes has earned his top spot. But Burrow? I respect his game, but in no way would I ever trade Allen for him. Allen can do more & is a better improviser, imo. The argument always seems to come down to, well, he's made a SB. He likely wouldn't have if we held on in the 13 seconds game. And it's a thin argument, anyway.

I've never had Cincinnati chili. Might be a good gametime first.
-
Norman looked sprightly last week. Not ideal, but he'd probably be in there ahead of Ingram (imo). Kind of alarmed by Benford's late addition to the report. Obviously, our best corner at the moment - and we're facing a trio of excellent receivers.
-
This question has really twisted my brain into a pretzel. I'll get back to you.

Wright is just following in the steps of Bayless. Allen is kind of his Lebron.

Dawson Knox on his decision to get surgery
Success replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
We're fortunate to have 2 really good TE's, with 2 very different skillsets. Kincaid is certainly a better pass catcher and offensive threat, but Knox is a good blocker, and is a tough runner & YAC guy whenever he gets the ball. We'll have great depth in that unit when he gets back. And just imagine if Jones or Milano (or both) can make it back, also. We may end the season better off than when we started. -

Levis looks really good. Good thing, too - the AFC is really lacking in good QB's.... -
This is a BIG game. Just wanna take a moment to appreciate that it's November, we are still one of the top contenders in the AFC, and we have a BIG game, against a team we might be competing against in January for the right to go to the Super Bowl. That kind of thing wasn't happening 10 years ago. Or even 5 years ago. We've had disappointments w/ this team here & there - but these are glorious days.
-
It would be crazy. We added Douglas and Joseph - and then we get those guys back too? That's the kind of D you need to win a SB.

Washington interested in trading for Belichick in the off season.
Success replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have always felt like Belichick's legacy is intact, and can't really be questioned. The accomplishments speak for themselves. But, now, there will always be a little sentence in fine print. He couldn't win without Tom Brady. -
It's weird to speculate - but the injuries on D just MAY make us a better team for a SB run later in the season. That's provided that Milano or Jones or both return for the playoffs. If that happens, and injuries going forward aren't too impactful - this team could be deep and scary once January comes around. A pretty big if, but it's possible.
-
He gives this team such an attitude & edge. We fortunately have a few "culture changers" on the team, but he's at the top of the list. It's very important to me that we not just win a SB - but win one while he is still playing here. One of my favorite Bills of all time.
-
I've said often that we went into this season with the best team we have had in the JA era. He did an incredible job given the cap situation heading into the offseason. And after the Jets debacle, they played like it. That D was playing lights out for a few weeks there. We were tougher, more aggressive & more physical - things that were distinctly lacking in the Cincy playoff game. Then, of course, we proceed to lose 3 of our best defenders. What he has done in the past few days to rectify that is heartening. I feel like they can get back to being a pretty shutdown unit, or close to it.
-
We could really use him & Douglas against the Bengals. It will be interesting to see how much both play, if at all. This is such a key game for the season. We have left little margin for error with bad losses to the Jets & Pats. Now, the pressure is on to beat the better teams on our schedule. Feels like we have to win 2 of 3 out of Cincy, KC & Philly..
-
What's great is that if we get Jones back, our depth in the playoffs will be amazing. Beane did a great job at the deadline. Feels like the D could be back to its more dominant self.

Re: the bolded - are you sure we're reading the same posts on this board? I'd say close to half the posts I've seen have either said we have no chance at all, or will need everything to go our way to eek out a win. This is a good match-up, of good & pretty evenly matched teams. I'd give Cincy an edge as the home team coming off a big win, but that's about it.
-
They owned us in the playoff game. We drove down the field as easy as they did in the short time the 1st game was played. We missed on the 3rd down play at the end of that drive, but not enough of that game was played to make any determination whatsoever. Anyone that wants to make definitive conclusions based on one game is entitled to their opinion, of course. But this thread is not to downplay the Bengals. It was a response to probably dozens of posts I've seen saying we have no chance. This is a pretty even match-up.

I kind of like that there is an established narrative, and expectation. The NFL is a crazy business. Things often play out in unexpected ways in this league.

I'm a homer nut, so I'm pulling for the Phins. I still want that 1 seed. I know who I'm getting the laugh emojis from. They won't hurt me.
