Bills could be tied for 1st in the AFC at 7-4
Success replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
100%. The Chiefs have a major weakness in their WR corps, which is unlikely to improve this year. The Bills CAN beat any team out there. They just need to get on a roll at the right time. Not saying that will happen - but it's as likely as any other scenario. -

That's kind of surprising. Would think our chances at 7-4 would be a lot better than that. The AFC is pretty stacked this year. The focus for this team has to be the division. Miami's schedule is close to as tough as ours - really have to keep pace w/ them until that final game, and then see how it goes. -

It is indeed. Watching the NFL today - we're pretty much as good as anyone. It's just an inconsistent league, with no real stand-outs. -

I'm tired of worrying about WC competition. Let's just win the division. -

Burrow w/ 2 bad picks in that game, too. Bengals save their best for the Bills. Or maybe they're just a bad match-up. Glad they lost either way. -

Colts vs Patriots in Frankfurt GameDay thread
Success replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a genuinely bad Patriots team. It's surprising to see a BB coached team play such undisciplined, bad football. -
Douglas, Jackson & Johnson should be able to hold down the CB unit this week, as long as they can stay healthy in the game. Our safety depth is pretty solid. No excuses this week. The offense should be able to score early & often, and even a banged-up D shouldn't have trouble with a team like Denver. They're playing better, but still a few tiers below the Bills in terms of talent.

I'll just cope it w/ the ol' "well, Cincy won their Super Bowl..."

Bills held players only meeting this week (For real this time)
Success replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll take anything that is NOT the normal routine. We all know this team is better than what we've seen since London. My own feeling over the past month+ can be summed up as sort of a, "snap out of it!" Maybe they will. Would sure love to see it. -
Travis Kelce on Josh Allen taunting penalty: "So F---- whack"

Kelce is growing on me His commercials are funny too, and he was great on SNL. Seems like a cool dude. -
National media are starting to grind their collective axes
Success replied to Thunderstruck's topic in The Stadium Wall
I enjoy watching most of the national media, but I know what I'm getting. Hot takes and narratives that have a shelf life of a week or so. -
People can say that 6 titles buys you a lot of leeway, but team owners aren't patient with losing teams - particularly when the arrow keeps pointing down and there is no clear path to get back to winning ways This reminds me a bit of what happened w/ Shula. It may sound cliched to say "the game passed him by" - but it did, and Miami kind of squandered having one of the best QB's in history. And Belichick's formula does not work anymore. He tried to zag the past few years, but the league is miles ahead of him at this point. That's a long way of saying that what is being speculated on would not shock me.

I have no idea how the rest of the season will go. But I know how it CAN go. We can get right against Denver with a lay-up win, avenge our earlier loss against a Jets team that is only solid on one side of the ball, and get our record to 7-4. We can take 1 of the following 2 (probably the Chiefs w/ the benefit of a bye). Then go on a magical run to the finish line to end the season at 12-5 and get a top 3 seed going into the playoffs. Yes, that can happen, and it's not that outlandish.

We really have to win the next 2. I can out-excuse anyone here, but there are no excuses if we're not 7-4 before that Philly game.

Ben Solak (The Ringer) Analysis of Josh's Decisions this Year
Success replied to JohnRVA's topic in The Stadium Wall
Paralysis by analysis. Everyone is overcomplicating things. This team has better talent than most teams in the league, and one of the best QB's. Know the secret? They need to have fun again. It's a game. Play it loose. Have fun.- 153 replies

Kind of hard to gauge. He has had very few runs in open space this season. I think he had 1 designed run against Cincy, and it was through a crowd, so it was more picking his spots than accelerating.

Let’s hope this is their Tampa Bay 2021 game.
Success replied to Rocbillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's what is driving me bananas this year. This is the 1st year in awhile where it's kind of wide open. If we were having a good year, my optimism would be through the roof. Hard to figure out what happened, and what's happening. We lost important players on D, but it's really no excuse. This team should be more competitive than last year's, and it just isn't. -
He's a boomer, but Martin IS much better in directional punts and pinning teams inside the 20.

One of those games that it's hard to get too excited about. They HAVE to win this one. And even if they win, it won't be too inspiring, unless it's by a few scores. That probably sounds spoiled, but I need a month of seeing the team I expected this season before I can start believing in us as a true playoff contender. We need Denver & the Jets - and I think we need one of Philly or Chiefs. If we're just going to beat the bad teams, who cares.
