And it's really what separates us from the top teams. This Bills team hasn't gotten blown out this year. Every loss was 1 score from being a win. And even when the offense has been clutch and pulled out the late score (last night, the Pats), the defense crumbles and gives up the 2-minute drive for the loss. Even the close games we won this year, we came thisclose to losing - PI should have been called in the Giants game, and if Godwin turns around, that's a hail mary for the win in the Bucs game. It's coaching, but I think it's also becoming psychological. We thought 13 seconds was the start of something - but it might have broken this team. If it's seeping into my head every time it's close at the end, it's probably seeping into other heads out there, and it's likely in the back of the players' minds. It's almost a feeling of, 'how are we going to lose this one? What new, creative and gut-wrenching way will we find to get the L?'

Will a win over the Jets to get to 6-5 bring everyone back in?!?!
Success replied to DBilz2500's topic in The Stadium Wall
The post-Jets stretch is too tough. I can't talk myself into thinking we can make the kind of run we did after the Hail Murray, or after we went 7-6. And the AFC is tougher this year. I spent the whole summer pushing back on people saying that the Bills were taking a step back this year, or saying that our window was closing. But they were right. Feels like we may be in for a tough road to get back to the position we thought we'd be in for years. -
Sign o' the times. I'm googling "how to stop being a sports fan"...

A lot of fans remember the "Dallas Monday NIght" game. The Cincy playoff game is kind of the "snow game."

Once upon a time when I was younger I'd be pissed

I dunno. I've been a fan for 45 years or so, and I almost smashed a laptop when they called the penalty for 12 men on the field.- 60 replies

The Bills are part of my karma in life. I don't know what it is - but I did something pretty bad in a previous life. There is no other way to explain this. We have more "losses with names" than any team in any sport.
-
They won't do it. We'll be "in it" mathematically until late December, and they'll play hard to try to make it happen as long as there is a chance.
-
I just didn't get it. It worked on 2nd - that's what you want. But then you HAVE to just play D - they weren't getting 3rd & longs most of the night. The coaches on this team are in way over their head.
-
It's so friggin' hard. Decades of this. Decades.

Denver really wants us to win this game. They're trying their best.
-
Everything imaginable has gone wrong - and we're still tied heading into the 4th. This is the season. Take advantage of that gift, just win this game, and try to fix all that is wrong.
-
Is this preseason?

What a cool, unprecedented move that would be.

And I thought I was the most optimistic on the board. I hope you're right. I definitely want to believe you're right.
-
If we keep going like this - I'm ready for it. It's so hard to watch the lost potential.
-
I'm kind of concerned that this is just who we are now. It's game after game after game. I can't figure this team out.
-
The Broncos just showed how a disciplined team executes a play.

The Cook doghouse should have been ONE drive. McD tests my patience.

I'm not sure what you mean. Both feet were on the ground, pretty clearly.

The slow starts - they're really becoming a thing.

11/13/23 Week #10 MNF GAMEDAY Bills vs Broncos Pregame Thread
Success replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
You get a mulligan or 2 when it comes to not winning games you SHOULD win. The Bills have exhausted their mulligans. Denver is healthier tonight, but it's no excuse. We're at home, and have a QB who is miles better than the opponent. This game simply has to be a win. There are no alternatives. -
[QUESTION] Your Opinion On This Team Will Change Tonight If:
Success replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll know it when I see it. It's basically establishing a lead and keeping the foot on the pedal. Playing sound, disciplined football. Closing out a game, so that I'm not chewing my nails off with a couple of minutes to go and thinking, "we should have put this game away already." Stuff like that. -
Bills could be tied for 1st in the AFC at 7-4
Success replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
People are saying they are clearly the best team in the AFC.. I don't see the gap. I see a team that has struggled almost as much as the Bills have. They have also had an easier schedule than other teams in the AFC. -

Didn't realize things were already decided for the big game. Guess there isn't much point in continuing w/ the rest of the season. As we all know, champions are usually decided in mid-November....
