Some of you guys are really obsessed with trying to trash a player. I thought it was really weird to do for a player on the team you root for. But even after he’s gone, and after the replacement has been a huge concern for a lot we still need to trash the guy? You’d think he was an off field distraction, or bashed the city and fans, maybe didn’t put any effort in.. Nope, just didn’t meet certain people’s expectations and got signed to a hefty contract on a rebuilding team. Certainly deserving the hatred and critique

I recall Beane saying during the Chicago game they’ll actually sit down with every cut and shoot ‘em straight on if they want them on the practice squad or if they’ll have a better opportunity elsewhere. Thought that was a nice touch

Seems pretty smart for Dallas, he’s cost controlled and Dak isn’t exactly the most durable.

At the end of the day they still have a coach in year two and an iffy quarterback situation. They can 100% all click and Tua stay healthy and be one of the top teams if everything falls perfectly in place. They have potential to be good. But I’m not taking an unproven roster with iffy players like Tua and Chubb over a team that’s at least been consistently a top regular season team for a few years now. I can see why people love their roster though, some nice young pieces and some flashy big name players.

The turnovers don’t bother me a ton, there’s certainly been some head scratching ones. Allen was big play hunting a lot last year and ignoring the 4-7 yard range where he’d have guys wide open for shorter gains. I think the lack of any run game factors into this. I hope they learned it can’t be Allen 100% of the time having to make a play. A halfway decent run game will take a lot off his shoulders. I dislike hearing the constant O line stuff. I’m a firm believer that the O line needs more rush attempts to get and stay into a rhythm while simultaneously having an impact on the D line getting worn down. Add in the amount of times they use play action when nobody is worried about the hand off. There’s a comment above they didn’t get Allen enough help, I would respectfully disagree. If they balance the offense I think he has plenty of help on the line and weapons to put up MVP like stats, even if they focus on the run game more.

I’m right by Knoxville in Tennessee so the story has been a little bigger here with him being on the Titans probably, I’ve seen it on my news feed a bunch.

Not everyone needs to be so glass half empty. The season has not started. Yet there’s a majority of fans being extremely negative and prepping for the demise of the franchise. I would not expect someone like Tasker to fuel that or criticize the team and especially not at this stage of the preseason, this is basically a glorified practice for most of the vet players.

With most of the team being together for years now I didn’t put much stock in that game. And even if Mcdermott is pulling double duty now I would be shocked if he’s not already grooming someone privately to take over the playcalling at some point. Unless the year is a huge success he’ll 100% have a new coordinator next year I would think.

I’d rather see penalties and sloppiness rather than later in the season. If that tape helps get them sorted out and ready for week 1 then it’s actually a positive.. Right?

I think Von was the right move still at that time. The bigger issue imo would be why they can never seem to develop the talent they bring in (other than cornerbacks) starting O line should not be a free agent need nor should pass rush given the players drafted over the years, but they can’t develop the talent they’ve drafted and the free agents haven’t exactly crushed it. I’m not as doom and gloom as most though, as the team sits right now I’m still positive about the season and hoping to see some of these guys progress.

I could never tell if I burnt out from watching it, or the programming just got horrible. I used to enjoy some of first take, and I liked around the horn and PTI. But I just lost interest along the way. I don’t want to hear about contract holdouts, definitely sick of hearing who is the goat, who is the future goat, ranking 1-whatever just for the sake of argument.. Just not my thing.

I’d be fine with any short term rentals. But I don’t think he’d be very successful in this scheme. They seem to favor or maybe need players with a higher IQ and from what I’ve seen from the guy he is all athleticism. Like others said he started to flash when they got Roquan cause he didn’t have to think anymore and could just attack. Baltimore loves them some comp picks so I would expect they’d like him to have a great year and get paid by someone else next offseason.

I don’t think Zeke offers much at this point, but I wouldn’t discount his blocking especially in the red zone. You know they’ll have some special redzone packages with this Cunningham kid, and Zeke might play a significant role for that.

I did not watch the game live so thanks for the recap. Really well done. It’s sounding like if they call it Buffalo might actually establish a run game this year. Very encouraging news for some of the key players.

I think Fields started to get it last year. They ran such a limited playbook for the first half and started giving him more and he was doing decent considering what he had to work with. This is a pretty big season for his career now that they gave him quite a bit of talent. Stroud still needs to survive those crucial first couple years under a terrible franchise and new coach like fields did, so I’ll pick him to bust.

I would almost be willing to guarantee it not that it means that much from me lol If he’s in shape (he should be) someone will roll the dice. That 4.2 will blind a lot of eyes

Just crazy. The amount of people doing more time for so much less. And this dude will be back in the league before he’s 30 after killing someone. Not sure of the good behavior rules at this level of crime etc etc but when I was younger you only had to do 2/3 of your time with good behavior. Money might not buy happiness as they say, but it sure can keep you out of trouble.

I ended up over here when the bbmb died. I enjoy checking in daily for the news. I don’t enjoy twitter. I used to chat more and enjoyed a lot of the debates on here. Even with Yolos absence everyone that’s been posting news has done a great job filling the void. Some of us in the shadows do appreciate it.

I would be in favor of adapting a few things from the XFL.

I find it very disappointing how easy some of us write players off and act as if they can never improve over the offseason. Especially when some are so young. Every year players are winning jobs or forced into duty because of injuries and elevate their game. Just because “he sucks” or “he was so bad last year” does not mean there’s no improvement the following years. The obsession with edmunds is still strong despite being in another city now. It’s weird to see how many are wishing for him to fail and predicting Chicago will regret the contract.

Maybe.. I think this is his last year unless I missed an extension or they sign him at a later date.

Fangio probably does elevate that defense to close the gap some on buffalo. I’m just not sold on McDaniel and the offense. They had their best games against weak defenses. The whole offense is based on going over the middle and they feasted on teams like the lions and bears. When they played better defenses he abandoned the run and when the middle was taken away Tua couldn’t adjust. Maybe they expand on that, their speed and pre snap motions seemed to work well. I think if they establish a consistent run game this year they’ll be able to compete with anyone. But until someone dethrones Buffalo from the east or Miami does anything in the playoffs I wouldn’t hype them too much. Just another team like a handful of others that are about to breakout as a threat for the next 2-4 years or blow the whole thing up

Minnesota is just gonna have Justin Jefferson at 50 million a year and TJ Hockenson at 15 million a year and not much else on the roster in the coming years
