I was actually very against this a couple months ago, but duke has a spot in my opinion. Zay just can’t take the next step, which makes him expendable

First team was ugly. But I also think they ran jack squat for plays. Tried to run and the penalties killed everything

God it’s going to be a long season. Kinda feel like they’re milking the games to last longer for more ad revenue or something. Hope they’re just trying to intimidate the players and this won’t rollover to the regular season

Nobody else can claim him. There’s like 20 pages of a thread on this. If he is sent to the practice squad that is it for him. PS the entire year no matter what. Buffalo can’t elevate him and nobody can claim him.

Have to say with injuries and lack of flow this game couldn’t of gone worse if were talking official dress rehearsal.

I don’t care what his completion % is. What a sickening stat so many people nitpick. Give me 3rd down % and wins. Doesn’t matter how you get there as long as you convert 3rd downs and win the games. Allen is 100x better already than I expected and he does not play like all those scouting reports and draft grade recaps said he did other than missing some easy throws. They portrayed him as EJ Manual 2.0 and that is absolutely not the case. He is a leader, tough, and a hard worker. He’s going to succeed. The only question left I have is how good can he be? He’s going to be a top 15 quarterback in this league for a long time if he stays healthy. The completion % is not as important as everyone makes it out to be. Any quarterback who can put the team on his shoulders and takeover and sometimes dominate is going to have success long term

I hope Detroit’s defense is healthy with all the starters and brings their A game. They have a nasty defense and I’d like to see what the first team O can do against an actual defense. I’m also curious if they come out throwing the ball all over the field non stop or if they actually try to establish some sort of run game with the starters.

I would say there is nothing he can do to make the 53, unless he’s taking a baseball bat to the top 3 running backs legs. He is living on the practice squad all year guys, sorry.

Pretty confident bunch over there. They seem to be 100% confident buffalos new line won’t be able to run block them and they’ll win this game quite easily. All we have done with first team offense is throw non stop in preseason, which leads me to believe they are waiting to unleash this new nasty line in the run game in jersey. First games of the year are always tricky but I think this one is a defensive dogfight. And I think buffalos defense is better hands down.

I try to look from the outside in on this stuff. If the roles reversed and it was a bills player making that hit Landry did I would still 100% call it dirty and probably not like said player as much. Robert woods was and is one of my favorite players to watch closely but if he made that same kind of hit I’d lose respect for him. Being tough and doing dirty work is much different than just playing dirty. Same for the gronk hit on white

I took Knox as well, with Sweeney a close second. Along with Beasley whatever tight end can be a reliable threat is the entire key to Allen’s success and growth which is the key to this team going to the next level. This team needs to be a deadly passing threat in the 5-15 yard range and that will make the offense unstoppable on 3rd downs

I would fully agree on this. Trade a first and drop a ton of money on a fat contract. No thank you.

I’m not a fan of Vince McMahon really but I am rooting for this league to be successful just like I rooted for the other failed one. Lol Vince should at least be able to make payroll and he definitely has the right people to market wrestling so hopefully they find a niche with the XFL this time to get some talent in and make it a success. It’s never going to compete with the NFL and that’s ok, we just need something decent

Any given Sunday right? This is a tricky topic for sure, i think the bills can beat any team in the league but Allen is still going to be uneven in my opinion. The team is ready to compete and we know he’ll give everything he’s got every week. I’m just not sold he’s progressed to the point he’ll consistently be good which is what we need. I fear we are still going to get some ugly games from him throwing the ball

I wish Kaep would just officially retire. The guy doesn’t want to play. He wants to be a martyr. A victim. Tyree wants to play. And his career is a few weeks old. Will he ever be a starter? Probably not. Maybe not even a backup. But leave the kid be. The obsession of the practice squad quarterback for this season is a little crazy. It’s like we’re obsessed over evaluating the lowest tiered quarterbacks on the bills roster ?? enjoy that for once the lower tiered guy isn’t going to start and be the savior of the franchise like JP, Trent, EJ etc etc etc

I don’t see pressure being a problem. Not sure we will have a top sack unit but I don’t see any reason they won’t be awfully close a lot of the time. Hughes gets so much love on here as a great rusher but I think a lot of people miss what happens when he runs so far past the pocket and tries to loop around. It really hurt the line in years past. Oliver hopefully fixes that issue this year. I’m definitely excited to get to week 1 and get the preseason doubts settled and over with.

Definitely agree on the Beasley chats in this topic. He’s going to be a huge key to Allen not having to run and expose himself to injury. Loved the little side step and pump fake in the pocket to find Beasley open. Nobody in the league can cover him longer than 3-4 seconds he will always be open. And once defenses scheme to stop that all that time the playbook is going to fly wide open

I like Feliciano playing center. I think he’s a nasty blocker. I won’t lie I haven’t paid much attention to Morse in KC so not sure what we’re missing but I’ve been impressed with Feliciano. Swain gives me some concern, he seems beat a lot and has actually gotten away with some holds and been called for a couple I think. Kicking is looking ugly too as others have said

Jacoby brissett and Kyle Allen are not much to get confident about. And I’m pretty concerned about Swain on the offensive line. I have zero doubts they’re building a good team, problem I see is I don’t think it’s as far along as some fans think, which is going to cause a lot of anger and drama later on this season if we’re not in the playoff hunt the whole season

I really can’t get too excited to see the defensive starters look a little shaky against Carolinas Allen. No cam or McCaffrey or Olsen and that kid moved the ball pretty good. Got to say I do love the Allen to Beasley connection though. Beasley is completely uncoverable at all times. He had every right to be upset about his usage in Dallas. As others have said he will be a huge key to Allen’s magical 60% completion (that so many benchmark if he’s a good QB or not)
