  1. To me the biggest difference between Miami on McK - the defender never played the ball at all. He ran straight into McK as McK stopped to come back. That is and should always be called. The Giants - whom I do believe interfered- at least the defender was facing the QB and the throw and tried to get to the ball. Did he bear hug and interfere- I thought so, but it is less likely called as he was facing the play throughout. Of course he was also behind and therefore all action toward the ball was through the receiver- hence why I think interference should have been called, but I understand that no call more than the complainants by Dolphin fans on the McK play - as the defender never looked for the ball just interfered.
  2. I totally agree - except even to start the year and through the last game - the Bills have been rotating the DB’s most of the season and then the after Tre came back - they still have been platooning the alternate CB. I agree in the past they used 100% for each CB, but Elam is built and plays well in more man situations, Dane and Rhodes are better tacklers and zone players. Therefore at the present time - what they have done in the past at DB is irrelevant because they had little Depth behind White and Wallace. This year they have Jackson, Beneford, Elam, and now Rhodes and White outside and they have been rotating the first 3 off and on all year while they were healthy. I think that is a fundamental change to the defensive approach to help keep teams from getting tendencies over and over within a game. You have seen this guy for a few snaps over 2 series - Bam now a different player is covering you while the first guy sits and studies. I think they are playing it very similar to the DL. Plus your original statement was: “Every Bills first round picks has started the majority, if not all, of their rookie year since McD has arrived. Except Elam” I totally agree that White, Allen, and Edmunds all started and played a majority at a time the team was growing. I also believe the 2019 and 2021 1st rounds picks do not fit your quote because the DLine rotates and the Bills had much more depth than early on. I get what you are saying and I just don’t think it has any reflection on Elam.
  3. Many reasons to argue, but not sure this is really true. Rousseau last year did start every game per ProFootball Refence, but played only 49% of Defensive snaps. Ed Oliver in 2019 start 6 games and played 54% of the defensive snaps as a rookie. Elam is currently listed as starting 6 of 11 games and playing in 59% of the Bills defensive snaps on the season. As far as I can tell - Elam is right on pace with their last 2 first round picks in percentage of defensive snaps. Now with Tre back and giving 100% of the snaps on one side - I expect he will see a minor decrease, but it seems he is playing a lot more Man situations - especially against weaker running teams. I would expect versus Chicago- you will see more Jackson as their WRs are not burners and Chicago can run, but against Cincinnati- I would expect more Elam with that WR room. It seems to be all about matchups and I don’t think the Bills are doing anything different with him versus their recent #1 picks - get them around 50-60% of snaps and let them work in with the veterans.
  4. So you were worried about a slip on a short FG, but would of been ok with the longer XP and a significantly more important kickoff. I just don’t know what to say.
  5. Absolutely not. Why would you risk any more handoffs or risk getting tackled and not having time for the time out and most importantly- there is almost no chance unless you are a psychopath that the TD would be the last play - meaning in those same slick conditions that you don’t want to attempt a short FG - now they have to kick-off and kick a longer kick as an XP. The Bills did exactly what should be the standard and made the last play either we win or OT - no credible chance for Miami to control the ball and win. It was the sound decision and the correct decision and not only should be, but is the SOP for end of game calls and it was highlighted by the Jets beating the Browns earlier this year in a similar situation. Good teams learn and in this case the Bills have executed that exact situation to perfection twice this year.
  6. If Bass was going to slip on a short FG with little torque needed - an XP and a kick-off would both be significantly worse and more likely to slip and cause issues. Imagine scoring and he slips on the kickoff and it goes OOB or as happened earlier in the year - the dolphins recover near midfield with 35 seconds and a timeout. The chances of winning by him going down was higher than the chance of winning if he scored. The chance of losing in regulation also goes up if he scores as Miami has the ball and controls whether to tie or go for the win if they score. Kicking an easy FG in fine conditions was by far the correct choice and allowed the Bills to control the games outcome - exactly as they should want.
  7. Was that because he was trying to go down on his own? It reminded me of the Baltimore game where 9 or 10 of the players were going to try and let him score and one player tried to strip the ball as he was going down. I think if he had stayed up and kept running - they would have assisted him in, but before the could get there - he started down. I don’t know though - Miami is a very poorly coached team and really have gone way down hill on defense and they are not very aware situationally, but they only way to win is if the Bills scored and left them time.
  8. Nope not Billsy at all - that was epic Jets level right there. I have never see such stupidity on a play since Butt Fumbles
  9. The FG is much easier and a slightly higher percentage as shown by a 0.5 increase in win percentage by going down. The FG was going for a win with no chance to lose in regulation. The TD opens up options to lose. Miss the XP and the Dolphins can win with 7. Give up a TD and the Dolphins can go for 2 to win. You also still have the OT potential. If you can control the ball on offense to run time out - that is what you should always do. If the Dolphins are doing everything to try and help you score - why would you want to aid them. They knew the only shot at winning was if Singletary scored - why help them with that?
  10. Except Miami still has 1 timeout if Singletary score. If you are going to argue at least get you facts straight. If Singletary scores - the Dolphins have nearly 40 seconds and 1 timeout to score and Bass still would of needed to make a slightly longer kick to get it to 7 points. If you don’t expect him to make the field goal- then an XP from 10+ yards back would have been harder meaning the Dolphins had time to score and win multiple ways. The strategy shows that McD understands how to win - that is twice his team has gotten down for a last second FG - unlike say Cleveland that scored in that scenario and lost. You control the action to win or lose - do not give control away at that point ever.
  11. Except they would of had a timeout and 40 seconds - every well coached team does exactly what the Bills did. The poorly coached teams like the Browns run a ball out of bounds to stop the clock and then score the TD and lose the game because those mistakes. A well coached team knows the only way to lose is to potentially give the ball back. You run it down - kick the field goal and walk off a winner every time.
  12. Totally agree Sanchez covered the gambit and sounded like an idiot. He finally got it right at the end - the Dolphins should have tried to drag him to the end zone and tried knocking the ball out. The Ravens did both and almost were rewarded with a Singletary fumble, but the Dolphins are not nearly as well coached.
  13. If he had gotten the first down - the next play would have been a kneel down just as it was. They were not going to run more than 1 play to get to 0:02 seconds with the ball centered. They did not want to risk having anyone dragged into the end zone with time left.
  14. Even if they score - they still need the snapper, holder, and kicker to perform for the XP or potentially lose in regulation. If you can control everything right down to the last play and ensure that either you win or it goes to OT you do that. It would be different if it was a 45 yard kick or something - then yes - get the yards, but for a chip shot - that was 100% the right call. If the other team wants you to score a TD so they have a shot to win - then the right call is to go down and eliminate their shot.
  15. Why? The Dolphins had 1 timeout that they needed to use after the play. The Bills then had a play to kneel and run the clock. I would totally agree if it had been 3rd down and the Bills had to kick on the next play, but in that case get down before the defenders can drag you into the end zone. The yardage did not matter as much as getting down. It was 100% the right call because you eliminated any chance for the Dolphins to make a play and win the game in regulation. By him going down - it was the Bills win or OT.
  16. Nope - the rule has not changed in years. The adjustment they made was the ball could contact the ground now as long as the player maintains control throughout. Via the old rule that was 100% incomplete as the ball contacted the ground. Via the change from several years ago - if McKenzie’s lower hand had stayed on the ball and not lost contact - that would have been a catch, but since he had control with that lower hand and then made contact with the ball and that hand lost control and his other hand came in - it is considered that he did not maintain control after contact. You can tell how close it was by how the rule judge basically stated that you see the ball move and his one hand leave contact, but the other arm is there. They most likely do not overturn it either way as the camera work is very difficult to tell where you have control. I think it is remarkable how much these Refs see and get right in real time that even slowed down is hard to identify without multiple angles. People complain all the time about spotting of the ball and they show a replay and damn if they did not catch a knee hitting the ground just before stretching or where the ball went out of bounds. It is amazing at live speed how really good these guys are.
  17. If you are going to complain - at least get it correct. The review confirmed the call on the field of incomplete. Nothing was overturned by review and when they slowed it down frame by frame - they confirmed that the ball moved in his hands meaning no catch. This was at least a bit closer than the Poyer play, but they got the call correct in real time.
  18. How could you - every time Mark Sanchez talked about him - he called him nick Chubb. Mark must have called him Nick at least 4 or 5 times. He was just terrible.
  19. I would like this 1 million times if I could. Josh is the man!
  20. They were never going to pull the credentials for the stupid or critical questions he asked. He was always going to lose his positions with the sexist comments he made and because the Bills are very female forward in their own in house media and through the local and national media - he was going to be done as a reporter covering the Bills based on the pod cast. He might have saved himself - if he had gotten out in front of this with a true heartfelt apology, but once the backlash started and he had not responded- it was always going to be to late.
  21. Yep and now he is fired from there also. It was inevitable. Guess that means he probably loses his press credentials.
  22. I heard Wilson was reaching out to Mike White’s Mom - he had a different type of revenge on his mind. 😂
  23. So he should get to voice his racist or sexist biased comments, but people should not be allowed to complain about what he chose to say - that is just stupid. He 100% has a right to say the idiotic comments he made and anyone offended has 100% rights to call his work to complain or call him out on social media. His employer also has 100% right to fire his butt for the stupid comments he made. Your wife has her right to be offended or not or maybe not even be real as no one knows you, but her opinion on the matter does not invalidate the 100s of thousands that are offended. And as has been shown - the men do not have to stand up for the women - there are plenty of proud, strong, intelligent women that are doing just fine on their own. That does not mean men should not agree and support the women if that is their belief. We all have rights and the rights of your so called “Karen’s” are just as valid and important as anyone else’s. Hopefully through this Jerry will get exactly what he deserves, but like so many other ignorant people - he will blame cancel culture and Karen’s rather than look in the mirror for the real problem. 🤦‍♂️
