  1. Anderson is by no means great, but Peterman could not be out there again. The Colts are not good either, and the game is winnable. If the defense can play like they have been, I think Anderson is a good enough game manager to eek out a win here.
  2. Why on God's green earth would anyone voluntarily give anything up for an overrated underachieving high cost out of football in two years Kelvin Benjamin?
  3. Zay Jones has improved since last year and could become a decent player, but him being #1 is more of a testament to how bad this group is than how good Zay is. On most other teams , he would be a #3 or #4 option.
  4. Peterman needs to go. I don't care if a less than 100% Josh Allen, Derek Anderson with limited playbook knowledge or even someone else off of the street starts next week, someone else other than Peterman has to start. Peterman has 11 interceptions in 91 pass attempts, let that sink in for a bit. Maybe Peterman get it done in practice and preseason but something does not click in a real game. That is more that a rookie mistake or bad game, that is a disturbing pattern. It's not going to happen for Peterman it never will, it is time to move on.
  5. If it was a good receiver or even a so so receiver who was working hard, I might say that this was taken out of context or overblown, but with Benjamin it is more cause for concern. He clearly does not want to be here and/or play football altogether. I think its too late to scratch him now, but he should not see the field again this year. Buffalo has everything to gain and nothing to lose as far as Wide receiver performance. I would rather have them give a practice squad guy a chance than an overrated underachiever who does not care.
  6. I don't see a need for this. Buffalo is not out of it officially yet and McCoy seems to want to be here. The only way that this would make any sense is to trade for players as positions of need such as interior line or receiver. Three of the next four games are very winnable, it is way too early to mail it in for picks.
  7. I do not see this happening. Buffalo traded McCarron with the hopes that Peterman was able to serve as the stop gap or backup. That clearly did not work out. It would make no sense to sign Anderson is there wasn't an intent to eventually replace Peterman this year as the backup. I'm only surprised that it didn't happen sooner. Peterman is only on the roster until Anderson gets up to speed with the playbook. I like the idea of the signing, I just hope we didn't lose Marlowe by gambling on being able to put him back on the practice squad.
  8. Yesterday is the best way to develop Allen for the time being. Why does anyone think that this is an either/or? We all knew that he was going to be a multi-year project. Poor planning by the team in the offseason and preseason caused us to rush putting him in behind a terrible line and possibly the worst WR corp that I have ever seen on any NFL team. It makes no sense to have Allen air it out like Brady or Rodgers would with this offensive unit. That would be certain failure for Allen or any of the other three rookie QB's playing. Yes, the stats are ugly. Yes ,Buffalo should have planned better before the season, but they didn't and the situation is as it presents itself until next year. I am just glad that they look like they are signing Derek Anderson to give Allen a veteran mentor and guarantee us not seeing Peterman if Allen is hurt or benched.
  9. Zay Jones is still worth keeping as I have seen a little improvement since he started, but the rest can go for all I care. There have been other recent bad receiving corps, but those at least had Lee Evans or Stevie Johnson as a semi decent #1. Benjamin is a complete joke this year. Problem is, WR is one of the hardest positions to walk right into and be ready to contribute five days after being signed by a team. I am on board with cutting the dead weight and trying other options out, but it may take a few weeks for them to fully adjust.
  10. Allen was a raw prospect. Every scouting report univerisally said that this was not a player that should be a short term option and that he would need time. He has actually progressed more than many thought so far. Today was bad, but he did not have any help from his line or wide receivers. That being said he was bad too, but I'm not going to give up on him after one game. My biggest worry is that this regime planned poorly for this. They gave him no help at line, or wide receiver or a reliable veteran QB to keep the helm until Allen was ready. I hope that Allen can stay strong and make it through this year.
  11. I like much of what this organization is doing, but what has happened on wide receivers makes no sense. Benjamin could still turn out OK if he stops dropping passes, but it pains me to regularly see four receivers (Watkins, Woods, Goodwin and Hogan) that were once Bills produce every week and know that they would likely be a better #1 at this point than Benjamin. It's ok not to retain people if the price isn't right, and at the time, cases could have been stated for not retaining the four that I mentioned. However, if you get rid of people, you have to replace them with something better or at least comparable. As of now, Buffalo has failed to do that by a long shot.
  12. Good call, and a brave one. I felt like the game would be closer than the first two but thought that Buffalo had no chance to win this. I was proven wrong. We needed this win because it doesn't get easier for while. Packers and next and playing in Green Bay is tough even for an established team so a loss is likely there. 1-3 is a lot easier to recover from than 0-4
  13. Agreed. He is still a dropoff from wood, but the line was better with him at center than they were with Groy. Whether that can happen over multiple games remains to be seen
  14. Strange that we got rid of our one veteran presence at WR. At least it was done to address the offensive li......oh wait, never mind.

  16. Peterman may be worse than any QB I remember on the Bills, and that includes Ferragamo and Mathison.
  17. I don't know, but at one point, BBMB had quite the crowd clamoring for him as the must pick for us to draft.
  18. Agreed on Croom. He was off the radar, at least to me before the season, but could be quite a find. Thomas was clearly a project in the beginning, but he has made vast improvements and seems like a likeable person that is easy to get behind.
  19. Not really complaining, but the O'Leary cut was the biggest surprise to me. O'Leary showed flashes in a couple of games last year and I think that he has a career ahead of him somewhere as a second tight end option. However, cuts like that happen on every team every year. If the Bills feel like Croom or Thomas are better fits for the team, I trust them.
  20. McCarron was dreadful for most of yesterday, but I would still trust him over Manuel in a real NFL start. McCarron's experience is limited but he has shown more than EJ has during the few times he has played. EJ often looked good in preseason here. Even in games, he would move the ball a bit and look good for some plays, but then have those awful plays that destroyed any momentum and put the other team in a position to win.
  21. I think we will go 0-16 and never ever win a game again. Seriously though, It was a bad preseason game but it was nothing more than preseason. I didn't get over excited when Buffalo looked good in game one and I am not hitting the panic button now. I thought that this was a seven or eight win team before the season and still think the same now.
  22. There is clearly some type of mental disorder that was being controlled for awhile but for some reason has come back in a very strong way. Whether it is going off meds or coping with losing a parent and his career at once, or a combination of both, he has gone off the rails since earlier in the year. We don't have to like him and he has done some dumb things, his bad choices are his own fault. However as someone who has struggled with mild depression and anxiety for my whole life, I can begin to emphasize a little with the mental aspect of it. For his own sake, and the safety of those around him, I hope that he can get the help he needs before we have another case similar to Justin Strzelczyk or James Hardy.
  23. This is too bad. He would have been a good bridge until Allen was ready. I can't hold his performance against him tonight because that line gave him no chance. I'm not convinced that Allen or Peterman would have done any better behind that line if they were playing.
  24. Might happen now with McCarron hurt. Allen has looked good so far and exceeded my expectations, but still shows just enough inexperience to make me worry if he is thrown in right away.
  25. Nobody likes us in the preseason? No!!!
