  1. Logically speaking, it was a close game until he got himself and others ejected. He was overrated as a bill, look at how many long runs given up happened to the Bills in 2013, he was at fault for most of those. Fair enough, if you say that he was a rookie back them, but he clearly does not seem to have improved since then. He is a hothead who makes a good play once in awhile but costs the team in the long run both on conduct and play. He will be out of the league within two years.
  2. Unlike Kyle Williams, this retirement will not be concluded with happy memories from Bills fans. Wish him well as a person, but as a ref, no loss.
  3. Whitner would have been a good second or third round pick, but underachieved as a top 10 choice. Not completely his fault, but still a bad pick. Valid point on Butler who I forgot about, but he was looking like a possible long term starter before he decided to retire for politics. Ellison started for awhile but it was more by default than merit. You are right in that compared to other recent Buffalo drafts, this isn't as bad, but easily a forgettable draft if not for Williams. Buffalo does get a decent draft grade on this on Williams alone though who actually outlasted most of the 1st rounders that year.
  4. Kyle Williams was a steal in an otherwise horrible 2006 draft class for the Bills. Great overall career and easily the most memorable and respected player in the drought era. Not sure if he is an NFL hall of famer but definitely deserves a spot in the Bills wall of fame. Good person, good player and he will be missed.
  5. Looks bad today, but Dareus was cant miss on paper while Watt was a major boom or bust risk at the time projected to go much lower in the first round than Dareus. Dareus is currently not doing much, but did actually have a few productive years for Buffalo including two pro bowl appearances, calling him a complete bust is a little unfair. JJ watt was projected to be a late teens early 20's pick. Had they picked Watt at 3, Buffalo would have been majorly ripped at the time for using a top 5 pick to reach for a late first round prospect with boards being flooded with "WTF, didnt they learn their lesson when picking Maybin" messages? Maybe they could have traded down, but fans would have also seen this as settling and being too scared to take chances. This would have been very unpopular at the the time fresh out of the Jauron era. Unless someone on the Bills front office can time travel, you really cant blame Buffalo for a pick like this. This is more bad luck than a bad decision. As I said in an earlier post, Troup over Gronk or Maybin over pretty much anyone in the rest of the next three rounds are more glaring examples of where an obvious better opportunity was right there and missed.
  6. Maybe one game was premature, maybe it wasnt, but Barkley seems to fit well with the team and it gives us a guaranteed option as a backup for two years. If worse came to worse and Barkey wasn't a good backup, I am pretty sure the terms of the two years contract wont cripple the team if he was cut. I think it is a good move overall
  7. Brady and Wilson were misses for everyone, but Big ben obtainable and would have made a difference. The two that jump out to me most was Troup over Gronkowski and Maybin over Orapko. Those were ones where no trade up was needed, the right player who was a good fit was there and Buffalo flat out went with a horrible alternative.
  8. Peterman is on their practice squad. In future news, all four of the Raiders defensive backfield have made the pro bowl after the 2019 season. Their play drastically improved due to gaining an extreme amount of confidence during the team practices that year.
  9. I would like to have a mansion by the lake, but some things are just not going to happen. This isn't college, where MAC or Sun Belt coaches get poached by the larger divisions. If Chiefs fans could go ahead and enjoy their flavor of the week QB and not have disrespect for the Bills franchise, that would be great.
  10. Lions and Bills are very similar. I think that the Lions are a little more relevant nationally due to having a thanksgiving game every year, and Barry Sanders has more of a national name recognition then any Bill besides OJ, who is now known for the wrong reasons.
  11. Sorry, I heard that there are oceans in Europa so I am investing in a time share there.
  12. Jupiter's Ganymede and Saturn's Titan are the two moons in the solar system that are larger than mercury.
  13. I'm sure he will suddenly "find his groove" if signed by New England, but i have no respect for any NFL player who half ***** it like he did. Dont let the door hit your ass on the way out Kelvin.
  14. Buffalo was statiscally "in the hunt" which causes a need to "defer to the veterans" until last sunday, now this makes it official. This needed to happen. Thank you Charles Clay, in a way I guess.
  15. Unfortunately Hughes's action will have consequences, but if we are all honest, this is exactly what most fans and many NFL players feel like doing after seeing how bad the refs have been recently.
  16. I agree with this, this is about the least disappointed that I ever remember feeling in a Bills loss. Yeah the drop sucked but many of the young players showed real potential to be a part of the team's future. We may have something in Allen, the Dolphins are saddled with a QB whose ceiling is "Meh".
  17. I actually noticed quite a dropoff when Bodine is not at center, so maybe not him, but besides that, this is pretty spot on. They just need to make sure that there are credible replacements.
  18. Not the most perfect pass, but any receiver should have caught that, I blame Clay and not Allen. I'm about 25% percent disappointed with the loss and 75% encouraged that Allen is capable of bringing the team back on a two minute drive.
  19. Tempting on paper because he is a good player(not person), but no because of the actual incident, suspension and backlash. I would rather take a chance on a draft pick.
  20. Maybe once or twice to check news but not really. That board was going downhill fast, but there should have been some type of warning. I didn't stop going to the site out of protest, more then I never really looked at anything there besides the BBMB in the first place. I do not post here nearly as much as I did there, but this board is higher quality overall and I am glad to have found it.
  21. Might seem logical on paper to sign him as rotation depth for a low price, but definitely a no because of how he left the team. Its best for both sides to move on and i would guess that Dareus himself would rather try his luck in a new environment.
  22. The funny thing is that he is probably delusional enough to expect a big contract from someone. Buffalo's was weak at the position and This was a golden opportunity for himself to prove that he was a #1 guy. Instead he stopped trying, played like number two and would likely be cut if it wasn't for the salary. He will be lucky to get a one year incentive laden "prove it" deal from a team.
  23. I have a view somewhere in between of this, I was born in the late 70's and most people in my generation and the baby boomers above got a spankin, or the belt, the switch etc.. when doing something wrong." Some parents went too far and when kids talked on the playground most tended to know the difference between getting a spanking for being disruptive at a restaurant or church and the kid that always missed school for falling down the stairs once or twice a month. Now it is too far on the other side. Many put their two year olds in front of a tablet, plug them in and cater to their every need. When they are 18, and are not capable of anything and they wonder why. Those kids turn out unable to deal with life when they get older. Any site search on how the first group of kids to grow up with the internet for their entire life shows this. Discipline of some sort is needed. How that is done is up for debate. There has to be a way where talking and educating comes first but physical discipline is there as a last resort. Either way, after seeing those pictures of AP's kid from a few years back, I would never trust him as a source on this subject.
  24. Normally, I would say that the belt(used reasonably) is a common punishment, or at least was in the past and alone would not be a big deal. Coming from AP who did go way to far in beating a child, it is a little concerning. Not to say that we should automatically assume that it was as bad as the incident a few years ago, but based on the track record a little more worth looking into then it would have been for an average family.
  25. Yeah , lets do the career backup just needing his shot in the right situation again. It worked out so well with Fitz and Taylor both of which are more credible than Barkley. Barkley is not a long term option and I think that you probably actually know this in real life, but you keep doing message board you.
