  1. Over the last 30 or so years, I have had a few dreams over my life about the Bills results on the next season over the years during the off season, some good, some disastrous. I have yet to have any of them end up as true.
  2. I honestly thought that adding Beasley and Brown was addressing this position but it seems that a few posting here during draft weekend disagreed. I would have been happy getting a receiver early if the circumstances were right, but getting Oliver and Ford were the better decisions. There was no sure thing this year anyway, this receiving class reminded me of the 2008 one where none were drafted early. That classes earlier round picks ended up being Jordy Nelson, DeSean Jackson and a bunch of average players and busts, nothing that was going to singlehandedly be the difference between playoffs and drafting early. I think that Buffalo will get a more established number one if it is a need, but for now, there is enough on the team to give Allen multiple reliable options to throw to.
  3. I selected cautiously optimistic, I see seven to ten wins with eight or nine most likely. Keep in mind that this team went 6-10 last year despite playing playoff teams with virtually no quarterback for a good portion of the season. The only major loss was Kyle Willams who was replaced by Oliver. Every other player not on the team was either expendable or a liability. The line minus Dawkins will be new and upgraded and some depth was added in skill positions to an improving Foster and Jones. Add this to an easier schedule and I see improvement This doesn't likely mean a playoff run, but there is no way that the team is worse than 6-10 unless Allen badly regresses or some key injuries occur.
  4. Keeping the receiving group from last year with no changes would have been more comparable to sticking with Peterman than this. True, there is no number clear one receiver, but there are now four options that are Capable of 50+ catches in a year. Our WR group was historically bad last year. You are not going to get what the Rams and Chiefs have in just one off season. You now have two veterans with good experience, an emerging Foster and Zay Jones even showed improvement. That is far ahead of what we had at this time last year. The WR class is not strong in the draft and I have serious doubt that any receiver would have suddenly emerged as a Antonio Brown/ODB/Julio Jones caliber target right away. If Foster or Jones don't emerge as a number one option, I have a feeling that Buffalo will get that needed receiver in the draft next year.
  5. Could be a nice find and may mean that McCoy is being moved for someone. My main concern is the The amount of carries in college could mean some more wear and tear than normal and could make for a short career. Only time will tell.
  6. I'll admit that I would like to see another option at tight end, but adding Brown and Beasley to an emerging Robert Foster and an improved Zay Jones puts the receiving unit miles ahead of the last two years. Buffalo's off season put them in a position where they could draft the best available. So far they have just done that. They can get a viable receiving option in the next round and even use some of their later picks to trade up if needed. I love the draft so far.
  7. Hard to tell what will happen, I am just happy that Buffalo did something about this. From last year, Dawkins will at least be for now the left tackle, and Teller will be on the roster as either the starter or a backup. After that, Morse and Spain are the closest to sure things. I feel like Nsekhe or Waddell will grab the RT spot and likely be an upgrade over Sam Mills. From there, you have a few marginal starters looking for a chance. Some will be cut while others will be the next Bodine or Newhouse but based on law of averages, one or two will start or at least be a good backup. You also have the draft to factor in, but overall, I am confident that this line will be much better than last year.
  8. More of a straight up stupid take than an unpopular one.
  9. I like this, EJ was a very underrated contributor in 2017 and a big part of the team's playoff run. We should have never let him go.
  10. It's hard to tell. No one can say that adding Beckham and Hunt to a borderline playoff team would not be exciting. It's polar opposite of the bills, who didn't sign the household name stars but found a large amount of players that are upgrades over who was there last year. Both strategies make sense and both have their risks. Cleveland has the better chance at immediate upside but Buffalo has the better chance at having a deep overall team in the long term. Both Bills and Browns fans have valid reasons to be excited. I will be curious to see how this conversation goes in two years.
  11. Losman was a bust, but there were some very nice JP to Lee Evans plays within that time.
  12. Before last week I would have said yes, but Brown and Beasley took care of the needed veteran presence. Foster, Brown, Beasley, Jones, Mackenzie plus whoever is drafted is a good group to come into the season with.
  13. WR Cole Beasley A, C Mitch Morse A OT Ty Nsekhe B+, WR John Brown B+ G Jon Feliciano B CB Kevin Johnson C+, RB Frank Gore C+ TE Tyler Kroft C, C/G Spencer Long C WR Duke Williams INC Overall A-. Sure, an Antonio Brown of Leveon Bell would have been nice but I love what was done overall. The last two years was a lot of doing the best they could with limited talent in a lot of positions. These players are all likely upgrades over who they are replacing. We have a legitimate starting caliber receiving group and a veteran offensive line. There is no position group with any huge holes. I would like to see a little more at running back and tight end but there is still plenty of off season left. Now in the draft, they can truly focus on picking best player available.
  14. No worries, the bad years blend together after awhile.

  16. That was between 2006 and 2007 so it was Levy. Also, that offseason included the Darwin Walker debacle, anyone remember that?
  17. Nine people in two days(if you count Spencer Long). I knew that the cap space was going to result in more signings than normal, but this exceeded my expectations. Still room to sign others and a draft with ten people. Even if half of the free agents work out, it will mean improvement.
  18. That plus also trading Josh Allen for a first rounder and creating a character of himself as a quarterback rated perfectly in everything.
  19. I am not high on Kroft, but Brown is a starting caliber receiver and Beasley is one of the better slots in the game. Buffalo tried for Antonio Brown but it fell apart. Buffalo is trying for LeVeon Bell but so are five other teams. There is a still a lot of cap space and we still have the draft. Buffalo needed more than one receiver and got that. They cant just hope for a franchise player and sit on their hands while waiting to see if they get one. What would you have done different? Give me your ideal offseason for the Bills?
  20. I know a few Cowboys fans, and they all have told me that this was a good signing and are upset to have lost him. No clear number one receiver as of now but a group of Foster, Brown, Beasley, Jones and McKenzie is miles ahead of what Buffalo had over the last two years. Also have the draft ahead and Duke Williams is a complete wild card as far as what he will do. Regardless of what the roster looks like in September, Allen will have a reliable group of receivers to throw it to.
  21. I like the Morse signing, Gore is fine as a backup and veteran leadership but nothing more. Johnson and Kroft could be Jordan Poyer or they could Vontae Davis(minus the quitting). That is the chance you take with signings like that. The price for Kroft was a little high, but here is hoping that he goes back to how he was in 2017. Overall, not a wow day, but a decent yield. There is a lot of cap space left and a draft left as well. Some depth at positions of need were taken care of today.
  22. Age jokes aside, Gore is an upgrade over what we had as a backup last year even at this phase of his career. I just hope that Gore is not all that Buffalo has in mind at the position.
  23. The current me is underwhelmed by the signing, but the 2004 version of me is pretty excited to get Frank Gore
  24. So a marginal quarterback who is just a notch above EJ Manuel finds early success due to his great defense leading them to a super bowl but two years later is on the way out. He finds a social cause to latch on to for whatever reason was in his heart in a timely manner, and ends up with a nike contract and a settlement? Good for him, but that does not make him a hero or martyr. Shrewd? Lucky? opportunistic? Maybe, but certainly not a victim.
  25. Van Pelt was a poor man's Fitz. Not a viable starting option even short term, but nowhere near the worst that Buffalo has had. Nathan Peterman, Bruce Mathison, Jeff Tuel and Billy Joe Hobert immediately come to mind as clearly worse options. That does not even count the ones from the early years.
