Avila would be a dream pick. My favorite interior lineman in round 2 by far. Schmitz is likely to go before 59 too but he’s my #2. Simpson over Sanders for LB. I think he’s a better fit and is overall a better player. That being said, I think someone takes him before us. Sanders might be there, but I could see OG and DT being viewed as higher priority than LB if Simpson is gone. DT: I’d like to see Keannu Benton get considered if they go that route. I think he’s the best DT available today personally and would be great in the system. I know it’s not a “sexy” pick, but I could get behind it depending how the Bills play the rest of the draft out. I hate being that guy, but if OG and LB prospects are gone I’d consider moving to the 70’s to get back a 4th or another 5th if there’s a willing trade partner. We have a few holes that need addressing and we can still find impact players in the early 3rd round.

Here are my working theories if we entertained a trade back (not considering who may slip) 1. Arizona: 27 & 91 <-> 34, 105, Hopkins: We swap 91 to 105 in exchange for them taking more of the cap hit. I think we even entertain moving from 34 back again if a partner exists between 35 - 44. We could potentially add another round 3 or 4 pick if someone is willing to pony up. I think once we secure DHop it allows us to freedom to focus on OL, LB, and DT prospects and select the BPA of those positions. This is my most likely scenario. Saints: 27 <-> 29, 115 If there’s someone the Saints want to snag this is a pretty fair deal for both parties. We net a 4th rounder and only move 2 spots. Not bad, and leaves the ability to trade back again if we felt the need. I could even see us moving 27 <-> 40, 71 if they wanted to keep 29. Personally I like this option a lot. Gives us another 3rd to get a WR like Perry or Mingo. GB: 27 & 91 <-> 42, 45: If GB is high on someone and wants a 5th year option on a target (maybe TE or WR?) they could be willing to move some nice 2nd round picks back to us. If this happens, we go LB at 42, OL (Avila preferably) at 45, and 59 is DT. 3 major needs handled in the 2nd round. It makes the gap from 59 - 130 way more digestible walking away with some real talent that early. Definitely going to miss some good guys in the middle rounds but that’s the price you pay. I could also see the Raiders trying to move 38 & 70 for 27 & 130.

Yes- I’d rather still have a pick (even if a few selections back) than to give one up. We have holes to fill, and I’d like to keep as many picks as possible. to be honest, I’d consider moving back from 34 a little bit as well depending how round 1 goes. Anything at or before 44 (Atlanta). Candidates that make sense are Raiders at 38, Saints at 40, Packers at 42, and Atlanta at 44. We could potentially still get a premier LB or OL player at any of those spots and snag a 3rd or 4th rounder as well.
