Jets getting better is ultimately good for the Bills
Buddy Hix replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see that point but think that if we improved and the Jets and Fins are still doormats that it would result in maybe a wildcard bid coming out of our division every year. Either way, all that really matters is Allen turning into a solid QB and the Bills becoming good/relevant again. -

Yeah, it’s a catch 22. I’d prefer the other three teams stink and the Bills make the dance year after year and use our division opponents like a practice squad. But....I’d also just like to die with at least another home playoff game. God, I hope Allen is the guy. -

I don’t follow the logic here. If Josh Allen ends up being a good QB, and the Bills stop being a doormat for NE, why would we want the Jets to be good? How does the Jets being good benefit the Bills? Either the Bills right the ship after two decades of suck our we continue on the cruise. -
G Jon Feliciano (Raiders) to the Bills

Don’t know squat about this guy but his last name is fun to pronounce...solid signing in my books. -
Barr didn’t want to be leap frogged twice a season by Allen.

Obviously, claiming no FAs will come to Buffalo is an over exaggeration, but I do think there is difficulty in attracting talent to this city and team. Whether the difficulty is warranted or not is kind of besides the point, because I think it exists. Not all talent feels this way, as evidenced by our yearly signings, but I think it’s obviously a factor year in and year out. But hey, why not start a thread to disprove an obvious over exaggeration and not address the salient points of the argument. Because...like button?

I agree that AJ and Julio are more teams friendly guys but they both want success. Despite all of us on here being fans, can anyone of us say we expect success from this team in the near future? We are all hoping for success but what is a realistic projection for wins next year? What are the chances the Bills win the division? And I’m talking team success, which would rely heavily on the D to move them forward. Why would AJ or Julio entertain playing for this O? McBeane neglected the O so badly it needs a complete overhaul and it’s cornerstone is an unproven QB who may or may not be something. If I’m a desired skill position player, Buffalo and Zona are the absolute last teams I want to go to.

I suppose OBD could justify the trade attempt in this way, but it doesn’t ring true to me. AB would have been the biggest star and highest paid player on the team and is the opposite of what we’ve been sold for two years. You raise an interesting point about learning more about McBeane, I wonder if the players on the team are taking a second look at them and their culture philosophy.

Updated free agency cheat sheet, including team unit grades
Buddy Hix replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be difficult to argue that any year's list of free agents couldn't help this Bills team, that wasn't really my point. When I look at that list I see some decent players but what stands out to me is that there aren't many intriguing players on the side of the ball we need a ton of help with. When Golden Tate and Jared Cook are the top options at the skill positions of need, I'd argue that the list is pretty thin. Yeah, that's where my mind went, too. -

Beane and his staff have their work cut out for them. That list of FA's leaves a lot to be desired, IMO. -
Kyle Crabbs of NDT Scouting Mock 6.0

Agreed, I’d love to trade down with a QB needy team if the draft unfolded like this mock does. -
Kyle Crabbs of NDT Scouting Mock 6.0
Buddy Hix replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Crabbs, pretty funny guy. This mock, though, seems like worst case scenario for me. All of the blue chip talent goes early with few surprises and the Bills draft DK based on his athleticism. Crabbs down plays DK’s agility issues in the blurb, and maybe rightly so, but I would pass on a wideout who can only run north/south. -
How can you possibly have a SECOND team that you root for?
Buddy Hix replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is the glaring exception, Ohio? I hope you have better taste than that, ?. -

I think most covered it already: bets, boredom, love of the game. For me, I root for UM players who I cheered for in college. -
FYI: My season ticket invoice just arrived for 2019
Buddy Hix replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This will be my first year with season tickets. Financially it doesn’t make a lot of sense, as I usually get to 2-3 games a year at well below face value. But my son is going to be 5 and I want to take him to a couple games and still go with friends to tailgate for a few. And I spent more on one ticket to the Green Bay game last year than a season ticket costs so they are still pretty cheap all things considered. -
Allen: “Hey Ramsey...am I still trash?” Hahaha
Buddy Hix replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me, too. But I have seen some guys who feed off the talking, so as long as you are backing it up, I say do whatever works.
