  1. I don't think Josh has a problem keeping his TDs up considering what he's done over the last 5 years. I understand I'm just feeding the troll here, but in the last 5 years, Josh has had 215 TDs. Lamar has had 145 TDs. Cleaning up the turnovers is something Allen has really reined in. Still, since 2020, Allen has only had 23 more turnovers than Lamar. Which is more impressive? Lamar having 23 fewer turnovers than Allen in the span of 5 years or Allen having 70 more TDs in the span of 5 years? Sorry everyone... I know I fed the Troll
  2. I don't know... by the definition of the word "valuable" I think it could make perfect sense. Even if you want to argue Lamar had a better year than Allen (I don't think he did... but for argument's sake), Lamar's value to his team isn't nearly as high as Josh. The Ravens have 9 Pro Bowlers and the Bills have 2. The Ravens have 4 All Pros and the Bills have 1. The Ravens have 4 offensive players outside of Lamar who are either Pro Bowlers or All-Pros. The Bills have 1 offensive player outside of Josh who is a Pro Bowler or All-Pro... and it's just Dion as a Pro Bowler. The Ravens have 3 skilled position players (Henry, Flowers, Ricard) who are Pro Bowlers or All-Pros. The Bills have ZERO skilled position players who are Pro Bowlers or All-Pros. Take the QBs off each respective team... which team has more wins? Be honest. That's why Josh is MVP. And I still think he will. But I love that Lamar was voted 1st team All-Pro. Give Josh more fuel.
  3. Because they're different awards... I'm kinda. MVP = Most VALUABLE player
  4. Why is the national media so widely saying this could be the upset of the weekend. What am I not seeing? I really can't believe more aren't talking about that Ravens vs Steelers matchup.
  5. Pretty cool Micah did that. Even more of a sign he's pretty content as a player coach. With Cole Bishop now getting more and more playing time, you love that. Gotta wonder if coaching is in Micah's future. Obviously it will start in Buffalo
  6. He's for the Baltimore game in the divisional round if we make it through.
  7. Lamar played 107 more snaps than Josh and Burrow played 170 more. The average NFL offense has 63 snaps per game.
  8. One thing I'd love to see some smart analysts like Orlovsky break down are QB audibles potentially from pass to run plays and how effectively Josh and Lamar do that. One of the things I think we've really seen this year more than any other year is how much Josh has taken ownership of the offense and is reading the defense and changing protections and plays right up until the ball is snapped. I don't watch the Ravens enough to know how much or how well Lamar does that. Also, how about 4th down conversion %? Someone brought up that Lamar and the Ravens failed on 3 4th downs in the game on Saturday against the Browns. I don't know if I remember 3 4th downs on the year we've failed on. Also, as far as their rushing, Lamar may be more explosive, but Josh is seemingly more effective when you consider Success rate. For those who are unaware, success rate is (I believe I'm getting these right) gaining 40% of the yards required to gain 1st down on down 1, 60% on down 2, and 100% on downs 3 & 4. The Ravens as a whole offense have a higher success rate as an offense (49.6%) than the Bills (45.2%), but that incorporates every time the Ravens have handed the ball off to Derrick Henry & Co. and every time we've handed the ball off to Cook & Co. on any down. I can't find our passing success rate stats (anyone???), but according to PFR, Josh (64.7%) has a rushing success rate that is significantly higher than Lamar (56.1%), which is pretty interesting considering the rushing narratives between the 2 QBs. Voters vote tomorrow. I wish they'd bring some context to more of these conversations.
  9. Can someone tell Micah (and everyone else) that Josh played 107 fewer snaps than Lamar? That's more than a game and a half worth of snaps when you consider the average NFL game has 63 snaps. Anyone think if Allen wasn't pulled so consistently from games that he couldn't get another 550 yards, 2 TDs and 5 1st downs??? MVP was an agenda for the Ravens, clearly. Against the Giants the Ravens are up 28-3 as the 4th quarter starts and they get the ball back because of a turnover on downs. Lamar stayed in the game for another TD. Would Josh? In a game that was 31-2 on Christmas day, Lamar stayed in for a drive to start the 4th quarter. Would Josh? In a game that was 38-10 to end the 3rd quarter against the Broncos, Lamar stayed in to lead another FG drive. Would Josh?
  10. Let them. Von has been really good against the run when he's been other field this year. And throughout his career he's been excellent.
  11. Feel free to admit you were wrong anytime. Happens to everyone. Von wildly outplayed your offseason expectations. It's okay to just state the truth when it's so blatantly obvious.
  12. Josh will (and should) win. Lamar's game today was pretty blah. 50% completion percentage with a lot of misses that were directly on him. I never really thought today would matter much, but I don't see how Allen doesn't win MVP unless voters are just truly that biased. ... and frankly, they might be...
  13. Pretty mediocre 1st half for Lamar. Not even looking at stats but he's gotta be below 50% passing. Announcers sure sound like they want to give him the MVP, though.
  14. Kinda sucks because originally I thought they talked about a 4th for Gabe.
  15. What I liked most about that video was Cooper celebrating with Keon right after. That's the most enthusiastic Amari Cooper I have seen in a Bills uniform
  16. Anyone interested in watching a pretty good discussion by 2 pretty thoughtful Football guys, watch Robert Mayes and Derek Classon talk about Lamar vs Josh. Both say it's basically a coin flip but Mayes makes the Josh argument and it's centered around the WR separation argument Dan Orlovsky brought up earlier this week... except Mayes spent some time actually going back and watching every single throw by both QBs. He brings up several other interesting metrics, too. MVP conversation starts at 1:05 and is about 15 minutes long;
  17. That was in 2017. She wasn't alone in that reaction in real time. That included a LOT of Bills fans. I was one of them. Holding that against her rather than seeing her 180 on Allen is pretty unfair.
  18. She was anti Allen early, but I don't think that's true anymore. I generally like listening to her. She's pretty thoughtful about her Football takes. With that said, one thing surprised and annoyed me in her "case" for Lamar. She compared Interceptions among the 3 primary QB contenders, but Foxworth asked directly about total turnovers including fumbles because doesn't Lamar have a good amount of fumbles? She proceeds to say that's a good point and that she'd have to look that up (I guess Google was unavailable at that time) and skirted past it. This has ALWAYS been my biggest issue in the Josh vs Lamar MVP discussion, especially in the last 2 years. Lamar is a fumble machine and Allen has seriously cleaned up that aspect of his game. Total turnovers over last 2 years when factoring in fumbles: 2023 Allen: 22 Lamar: 13 2024 Allen: 8 Lamar: 9 Yet evidently voters aren't paying attention to lost fumbles. Couple notes... last season Josh had 44 total TDs and Lamar had 29. The Bills were also still the 2 seed last year and the Ravens won't be better than the 3. I actually thought and still think Josh was more deserving last year based on historical precedent. Now with the new precedent they set of giving it to him last year (almost unanimously, btw), I fear they'll move the goalposts again
  19. Mina Kimes is one of the MVP voters. On her show today she and Dominique Foxworth "debated" the MVP. Didn't sound at all like a debate. At the end she said unless Lamar lays a dud this weekend, Lamar is her vote.
  20. Yes. When he's on the field he's clearly making an impact. Obviously. You're being stubborn if you don't think so. He played 14 snaps against the Jets. In those 14 snaps he had a sack, a QB hit, and one TFL between his 2 tackles. Against Kansas City in the biggest game of the season he did the exact same thing. He's played 35% of snaps this season and in the snaps he's actually on the field you can feel his impact in almost every game he's played. He's obviously not living up to his Contract and isn't Prime Von Miller, but he's MUCH more impactful than you insisted he would be in the offseason.
  21. I dunno man... I think you need to just acknowledge you were wrong at this point and leave it at that. Regardless, Von was really brought in as the "closer" for the playoffs. Let's see what he accomplishes there
