Who has been the biggest disappointment?

no argument there. I LOVED the Boogie pick. I thought he may outplay Groot, but right now he looks like next year's AJ Epenesa. -
Who has been the biggest disappointment?

Too many on a team with Super Bowl aspirations 1. Davis - 16 catches on the year. Never open except on deep routes. bad hands 2. Saffold - Completely useless. I thought we were getting a great player and he might be the worst player on the line. Hits no one. 3. McKenzie - I didn't expect him to be lighting it up every week, but I legitimately expected big plays, high YAC value with occasional games over 100. 4. Knox - Rough personal issues, but hasn't been a factor at all. I really didn't like the signing because I saw a limited player produce in a system 5. Oliver - has regressed from last season where it looked like he finally took a big step. He's just a rotational level player. 6. Epenesa - 3 years in and he still doesn't look like he's figured out how to play in this league even as a abckup. I'm not sure he plays in a regular season game after this season -
Did you not see Davis slam on the brakes at the 30 yard line in order to not outrun the ball? That brought Garnder back into coverage. The ball landed at the 20 and if he wanted to hit an open receiver, it would have had to go to the 10. Asking that is ridiculous of course, but it is what it is. He should have thrown the ball 5 seconds earlier if he didn't want to have to sling it 80 yards. Better yet, he could have thrown it underneath for a 1st down.
-
It would have, except there's basically no scenario in which that pass does get completed. It was underthrown, which is reasonable for a pass that went 70 yards, but underthrown regardless. The only prayer for that ball was a PI call. meanwhile he appears to have other receivers open underneath that at least could have tried to make a play instead of hinging the game on trying to make a 90 yard throw or getting a penalty. This play was indicative of the kind of stubbornness Allen has been putting on display when things get tough.

The Titans? I missed them as a team with a winning record, but not sure they're a tougher out than the Cowboys or Giants. The Eagles are so multi-dimensional that I think people are really underrating them. Hurts may not be Peyton Manning, but he doesn't need to be. They have a solid offense 8th in rushing, 15th in passing and a very good defense #2 Passing, #13 rushing, #4 points. They may not have the dynamic offense of the Chiefs or Bills but they deserve their record. They haven't fallen on their face the way the Bills have, and that's worth something. Allen has had 4 good games, 3 bad ones, and 1 where despite showing up well on the stat sheet, it wasn't good enough to win against a barely conscious opponent. We got lucky against Green Bay and Baltimore, but not so much against the Jets and Miami. Allen can't keep piling up picks and poor outings if we're going to make an argument for MVP.
-
Who do you have the Eagles losing to? The rest of their schedule is pretty much a cake walk. They have two remaining opponents with winning records: the cowboys and the Giants x2. They should be favorites in all of those games. As much as it pains me to say it, Tua is also re-entering the conversation. \ Josh is on very thin ice after these last two games as far as the MVP race is concerned.
-
There's a difference between checking down and going for underneath routes. Yes, he's checked down plenty, but he isn't targeting open receivers in underneaths routes as often as he should to make defenses play honest.
-
They are undercoaching him. He keeps going for the big play even when it isn't there. That costs you games when you don't get lucky.

lol stop it. The dude has been beyond washed up for 2 seasons. Every WR on our roster is better than he is right now. The Offensive coordinator doesn't call deep shots or checkdowns - the QB does based on their reads of the defense. On mutliple occasions Josh had underneath routes wide open, but through low percentage shots down the field. It's a pattern with him that goes back years. Allen needs to stop being so stubborn if he wants to take the next step, because some coaches have already figured him out. That doesn't mean he won't still be the best player int he game, but it may stop him from Winning Super Bowls or reaching his ceiling.

The blueprint is in, Buffalo has been figured out
BullBuchanan replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
What year will that be? This season our best case is that we'll have at least one 6th round pick as our starting Safety - maybe 2. Every team has injuries - they aren't a valid excuse. We had a healthy D line - the most expensive int he NFL and a supposedly top MLB. That's more than most teams have. -
The "non-interception" by Edmunds

I would have hoped that my 6'5" Pro Bowl linebacker wouldn't get out muscled for a ball he possessed on the ground. -

I feel like we've been running "Bend Don't Break" most of my life and they always break when it matters. -

Dodson showed up on the stats sheet nearly identical to a typical Edmunds game when he spot started for him this year. I don't think Dodson is the answer, but I think it's telling that we didn't get exploited at a significantly higher rate while he was there. He did make one big whiff of a coverage play that I saw. I think Edmunds' replacement comes in the 1st round next year. We could still use a Kuechly. -

That's the opposite of what I've done. He's a world class athlete and I acknowledge that. What i said was his athleticism is all he has going for him. As for his height - yes I also believe that is a problem, because he has very poor technique and doesn't get low enough on blocks or tackles to use the leverage that his length would provide and instead it works against him. As for his play being markedly better this year, it's an improvement over the last two years, but only in results - results that can be explained by the play of the Dline in front of him. Edmunds is still making the same soft tackles, still getting caught in the garbage, still making mistakes in coverage, still taking incorrect first steps, etc. I will absolutely agree I was "pretty convinced" before the season. I've been pretty convinced for 4 years. However, I would absolutely change my opinion of him if he gave me reason to, just like I did with Allen years ago. He hasn't, and I'm betting he won't 5 seasons into the league. -

You need to make up your mind because the case you're making for edmunds is that he helps against Kelce, but yet Kelce has absolutely destroyed the Bills since he's been here, so obviously he isn't helping that much. I never said it was. I'm simply countering the ridiculous argument that Edmunds who in his career has allowed a 93, 76, 114, 106 and 84.5 Passer Rating makes us sitgnificantly more prepared to stop Kelce, who averages almost 100 yards a game and over a TD a game when playing against Edmunds. When playing against other temas he averages 71.3 YPG and less than 0.5 TDs per game. Edmunds is below repalcement level against Kelce - that's just data in black and white. What part(s) do you need explained? You may disagree with it, but it's absolutely rational. -

No it's not an accident that he is slow to read plays, has poor instincts, couldn't shed a block if there was a billion dollars behind the blocker, is a soft tackler, and despite the athleticism to keep up with WRs is terrible in pass coverage. Everything that makes Edmunds great are the tools he was born with. Everything that makes him terrible is what he has done with them. If you combine those two things together, you get a middle of the road talent whose raw athleticism bails him out enough to make up for below average ability in most other facets of his game. I'm pretty convinced that if he were 4-5" shorter, he would be a significantly more impactful player with otherwise no increase in skill simply because he has no idea how to use his body to gain leverage during contact. He's like the Tyler Myers of the NFL. -

Is it Kelce's 6 TDs and 475 yards across 5 games against us during Edmunds' time here or is it something else that leads you to this opinion? -

Why does a passed out person bother you to the point that you think you have a right to get involved? I bet a lot of folks around here run for low-ranking seats on their HOA. -
