Must have missed Ramsey getting roasted this year. -
Probowl selections - No Bills Selected

Trolling. -
False. Former QBs have one set of experience: theirs. Analysts, whose job is to understand and break down the play of QBs have watched thousands. Every time I hear somebody say I've been doing X for 25 years, as some sort of basis for a claim, I know there's a high chance something stupid is about to come out of their mouth. If QB's were so great at breaking down QBs, more of them would be coaches.

How many films did Roger Ebert direct? How many former chefs hand out Michelin Stars? Most good critics come from a background that emphasizes consumption of a tremendous amount of content, and deduction skills to properly analyze what they consumed. All Chris Collinsworth knows is "back when I was a wide receiver".

Not so fun fact-QB 3000 Yd Passing seasons
BullBuchanan replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3000 yards is a useless goal. every QB in the league throws for that if they play 16 games. If they don't, odds are incredibly strong they;ll never start again. The new standard for a good QB is 4000 yards, of which Brees has 12. Without looking, I'm gonna guess that's 12 more than in Buffalo Bills history. he also happens to have 5 seasons where he threw for 5000 yards and one more that was 48 yards shy. -
The Lions chose to go after Tre White
BullBuchanan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You must've missed the part where he plays for the lions who consequently rank #22 in Passing - go figure. Believe what you want, your take is bad now and it will look ridiculous with age. -

Woods is a very very good player. He plays on a team with a disgusting amount of weapons and still gets his. This argument doesn't help your case -

You shouldn't be starting Lions in fantasy. He's a second year player out of the MAC becoming an NFL elite player before our eyes. This isn't the first or the last time he'll beat an elite CB. He'll be a top 10 guy next season if the lions can figure out what the hell they're doing. -

Golladay is already closing in on 1000 yards. He's been a beast all season. -
Zay should probably be our #4 going into next year until his play dictates otherwise. Unfortunately this is an atrocious FA WR class. It's going to take trades or immediate impact rookies to change the makeup of our group going into next year in any sort of meaningful way. The absolute best we could hope for, as it stands, would be to get someone like Funchess, and he's not even that good.

What is a “true #1 WR?”
BullBuchanan replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Usually #1's have it all - size, speed, strength, elusiveness, route tree, catching, hands, etc. There should be little that they can't do better than most #2's in the league. Sometimes they aren't the biggest (Brown), or the fastest (Fitzgerald), but that usually means that some other aspect of their game has to be so special that it overcompensates for their deficiencies. When i think of prototype #1's I think of guys like Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, and Terrell Owens. Obviously, it doesn't mean Jerry Rice wasn't better than all of them being slower and shorter, but that's what I ideally want when I'm looking for a #1. -
Martavis Bryant Suspended Indefinitely

There are a lot of other things that are illegal that the NFL doesn't give af about, so that's not a super valid reason. Legality does not equal morality. -
Broncos Redraft: Chubb still or Allen/Other QB, etc
BullBuchanan replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BPA. Barkley is the best player to come out in years. Every single win the giants have is off of his back. With a mildly competent offensive scheme, they'll be in the playoff hunt for the next 8 years. If they can find good QB play, they'll be championship contenders with no other additions. Elite RBs get a bad name when teams like the Sanders Lions, the Peterson Vikings, and the Tomlinson Chargers think they can just run the ball every play and win championships. The kid is sensational, and it was all on tape for every GM to see prior to the draft. The jury's still out on all the QBs, but the case is closed on Barkley. -
Is Vander Eshe to Edmunds the same as Juju to Zay
BullBuchanan replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not stoked about Edmunds at this point. So far he hasn't shown me anything special to offset his lack of skill at the MLB position. As a general rule, I believe it's best to build your team around a high floor, rather than a high ceiling. The NFL as a whole makes way too much out of potential. We see it as it plays out with regards to trades. Until the mega-trades this year, it was common to get lower draft compensation Insert other media for proven commodities than what they would cost if you drafted them in April, and that always blew my mind. I'll take the guy that can play football over the combine warrior if their draft slot is equal 10 times out of 10. There are so many guys that weren't prototype players that turned into HOFers in this league, that I think it's ridiculous to watch teams gamble on "upside". Edmunds isn't a smash mouth tackler, so it already has me worried about what his true ceiling is. Through season one, I think we would've been better off with Preston Brown, and that doesn't encourage me. This kid has a mountain of hype to climb in order to be worth of the compensation they used to draft him. The Bills would never ever do it, because they're the Bills, but I think Edmunds belongs on the strong side, with a true MLB that can shut down the run inside. -
No, you just lack the ability to be moved at all from your stance, and I don't waste my time with people like you.

He was a key part of why we were able to claw to the playoffs last season, and taylor didn't have anywhere near the skillset of Allen. McCoy also gave us a fighting shot the year before when we had no business being there. If you want to win you have to have great play from QB, RB and WR. Signing Bell gets us the opportunity to have 2/3 and then we can try to find our 3rd. You could draft a guy, sure, but it wouldn't be a sure thing. I'd do both to make it one. Also worth mentioning that McCoy wasn't half the player Bell is. Bell can actually run between the tackles and don't fall over on contact. What's Gurley doing for Goff and the Rams? You can't run and defense your way to championships with Mark Rypien and Trent Dilfer anymore, but I think you can if you've got a guy that can hit a speedy receiver 60 yards down the field on occasion.

Sign a whole new starting caliber O-line in FA and let them battle it out with Dawkins and Teller. Unpopular opinion - sign Le'veon Bell. Assuming a revamped o-line, a top 3 RB would take a ton of pressure off of Allen and if we could get modest WR play we could be legitimate contenders for a couple of years while Allen is on his rookie deal. It might seem insane to pay a guy that much money, but players that good change your whole team. We can absolutely afford it, as as long as the term isn't too long I think it would be a very aggressive move that could put us in a Big Ben year 2 situation if everything rolls just right.

of Wilson, Stafford, Cousins, Luck, Mahomes, Wentz, Goff, Garrapolo, Mayfield there are plenty of guys to carry the torch. You'll never see an era in the NFL ever again where you have Peyton Manning, Rodgers, Brees and Brady all playing at the same time. It's insane what we got to witness. They're probably the best 4 QBs to ever play the game. You aren't going to have that when the current group retires, but you'll find other first ballot HOFers.
