  1. I would encourage you to listen to some interviews with opposing head coaches after they face the Bills. The STRENGTH of this defensive scheme is that it is multi-functional out of the same base set, so the offense has no idea what you're going to throw at them pre-snap. Running a 4-6 Bear or 5-3 technique makes it incredibly obvious what you intend to defend. In the base Nickel, you have Taron Johnson playing as an outside linebacker sometimes and as a nickel corner other times. Do you have any idea how difficult that is to read as an opposing QB?
  2. I've heard this from a few folks the past weeks. So ... you want a 6th round rookie, who has never played safety in his career, to change positions mid-season and start? Do you think there could potentially be any issues there, considering our Safeties play some of the most complicated schemes in the NFL?
  3. Maybe it’s his annoying brother and wife combo, or his BLLEEEEUUU 80 pre-snap call, but I can’t stand Mahomes.
  4. Huge. Nothing else matters. He'll be ready for next week and the Bills are taking their time on a week that they're 10.5pt favorites. I love it.
  5. As much as I dislike the Dolphins, I never had any fear of them even as a 100% healthy team.
  6. If it's a race issue, then it's a gender issue and a sexual orientation issue too. Serious lack of gay coaches, don't you think? Big time lack of female coaches as well. I don't see anyone standing on the soap box for those issues. Meanwhile, we do have black coaches, we do reward franchises who hire black coaches, and we do force all organizations to at least interview black coaches. That's progress. The leap from "Nathaniel Hackett is a bad coach and nepotism is a problem" to "nobody wants black coaches" is just way too far for me and I'd say it's way too far for any reasonable person who isn't trying to make every issue a race issue. Brian Flores was a great coach, but he was hired by a bad owner and he SUED his own team. Even after suing his own team, rightly or wrongly, he was hired again. That is not being black balled and it's a terrible example.
  7. I don't really see this as a race thing as much as it is a network/nepotism issue. Saint Doug found a way to stick around the NFL for way too long and Hackett was his best man... brought him over from Syracuse Offense Coordinator. Syracuse. Offensive Coordinator.
  8. We have a team filled with players we can be proud of. Why would we trade for a guy who pushed and kicked a woman? Here's a video if some of you would like to re-think this: Let the Browns be the Browns. I don't want to be that team and I don't care if it helps us get fractionally closer to a Super Bowl.
  9. Nobody we pick up off the street would be an upgrade. Any legitimate upgrade would cost significant draft capital. So... would it be better to trade a premium pick for a guard, who we immediately need to pay in the offseason and end up paying instead of Poyer/Edmunds/Phillips, etc. Or would it be better to simply use the draft pick on a Guard this offseason? I think it's pretty clearly, the latter.
  10. Anybody who even a little bit knows football knows that Devin Singletary is not the problem. The problem is our interior o-line and the complete lack of depth behind Singletary. Specifically, we need a power rusher who can complement Singletary in short yardage situations. Those are not hard to find and I'd be fine with either trading Moss for one, or giving up a late round pick for one.
  11. Bumping mine so it can be merged with the … other one.
  12. Dude… I literally made a 3 page long Kaiir Elam thread two days ago on the main page. Did this have to be a separate thread?
  13. Patriots Dec 1st Dolphins Dec 18th Patriots Jan 8th One of those teams might be in the playoff hunt, plus a divisional. I'd say that's flex-worthy.
  14. Lets revisit this at the end of the season
  15. Why is everyone crowning the Giants and Daboll a great tandem? Yes, they are 5-1, but they're ranked #25 in offensive yards per game and they're ranked #15 in defensive yards per game... Here's how they've gotten there: - Beat the Titans by 1 point. Titans are garbage. - Beat the Panthers by 3 points. Panthers are garbage. - Lost to the Cowboys, who are not very good. - Beat the Bears by 8, who are garbage. - Beat GB, who just got smoked by the Jets the next week. - Beat Baltimore -- good win. Can we wait until the end of the season before crowning Daboll the King of the NFL and creator of Josh Allen?
  16. Maybe their #1 WR is out for the season? Who knows https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/10/17/report-marquise-brown-suffered-potentially-season-ending-foot-injury-on-sunday/
  17. Nothin better than watching Pats fans throw Mac to the curb after anointing him the chosen one last season. Belichick continues to play 3D chess in their minds. This is so much fun to watch.
  18. Kansas City: Clutch pick in the end zone this week might have been the difference in the game. Steelers: Great interception w/ perfect positioning. Ravens: 43 coverage snaps, 1 target, zero receptions. Dolphins: 25 coverage snaps, 2 receptions, 10 yards allowed. Titans: 1 pass defensed, zero catches allowed (maybe 1 for medium gain if you pin deep coverage him). Rams: 30 coverage snaps, 3 targets, 3 receptions allowed. Are there a few moments against the Steelers he'd like to have back? Sure. But as a ROOKIE, Elam is more than flashing.
  19. Thankfully we have a great backup who really isn’t much of a downgrade. Get well soon, Spencer!
  20. I don’t think it’s accurate to say they’re worth an infinite amount of draft picks. There’s just no price a team can likely pay for either of them. For example, if one team could offer 32 first round draft picks, literally any QB you want in the draft, plus every other first rounder… it would be close. Or, if you don’t like that, double it. So, not infinite, just not attainable.
  21. Just to be clear… You’re saying Isaiah McKenzie… all 5’8” 165 lbs of him… is a great blocker? And you are… unsure about Shakir’s blocking ability in the slot? My brother… I would be ok with this if you weren’t calling other people’s takes shallow, but you need to take a step back from the computer and turn it off for a little while.
