  1. He wouldn't give top of the market money for sure. However, Beane's stated in the past that he wouldn't be opposed to drafting a first round running back (I disagree with him) and that line of thinking would pry extend to giving productive backs second contracts. Just the mere fact that their appeared to be talks between Beane and Cook's agent makes me think the Bills want to re-sign him. I think I remember correctly that Beane sigend Breida in 2021 even though they had Singletary and Moss because of Breida's home run potential. Cook has that. They pry have Cook's value around $8m given his age, work load, efficiency, and work ethic. Far away from the $15m though that Cook seems to want. Beane pry won't move off that price so he could pry draft a RB next year that's maybe 85 to 90% the player that James Cook is at a fifth of the cost. Still somewhat rolling the dice though even if RB is one of the safer day two picks compared to other positions.
  2. I thought this was a sneaky NFL London promotion by the Eggman.
  3. You'd have to calculate how fast each train gets up to that speed and the wind resistance.
  4. It is kind of coincidental that Fields started for the Steelers and Rodgers started for the Jets week 1 last year. Now they swapped teams and will play each other week 1 this year as starters. I wonder if that's ever happened before.
  5. Elon has a mild form of Aspergers. He wouldn't have gotten to where he is today without it but going off on a tweet storm like this isn't surprising.
  6. What's changed in those 10 years? I think that's the one thing that would really mean something globally in our lifetimes.
  7. Musk should just stay out of politics and stick to doing what I hope happens in my lifetime. Sending a man to Mars would be pretty fricken spectacular.
  8. I love how the schedule makers are like @Jets week 1. We're calling your bluff.
  9. I consider it 334 games including the pre-season and playoffs. I have a system though. It's gotta work eventually.
  10. Thanks. I actually should've went with that because you can say that about any player. I guess I put more emphasis on those that are supposed to finally get us to the top.
  11. I think you're dreaming. He had a 3rd round grade on him for a reason given his small arms meant most likely a slot only WR. However, if Shakir can put up 700 to 900 yards receiving every year I'd be cool with that at $15m per year for a slot only WR.
  12. I'd be more with you if it wasn't $12m guaranteed for a one year deal spread over two years with $7.2m in dead cap in 2026. I just wish it was a clean one year deal but I get why they did it. For that money we should absolutely expect him to be a difference maker in the playoffs. If we fail to make the Super Bowl, it's a bad signing no matter how you spin it.
  13. I agree that Americans really don't care about debt and passing this bill would be good long term for the party. If the Repulicans thought reducing the deficit was a top priority someone like Rand Paul or Paul Ryan would be president. Musk feels used though. I'm guessing that In his mind wtf did he spend all that time working the last four months to make better use of taxpayer money with DOGE and then have a spending bill that would increase the deficit by 5 trillion dollars? Especially given his businesses took a hit because he worked with Trump. It's a slap in the face and I don't disagree. I love how people just place the most cynical of motivations on people they don't know.
  14. Shows how far left the Democrats have come in the last 10 or so years.
  15. There should be but logistically it would be really hard to pull off as undocumented immigrant workers would fear being deported. Yup. The illegal immigrants by and large do the jobs that we don't want to and many employers take advantage of paying them under the table (42% of undocumented workers in NYS make below minimum wage). We also wouldn't have enough workers to fill those spots if every illegal alien was suddenly deported. It really should be a multifaceted approach of beefing up border security, increasing punishment on employers that exploit illegal immigrants, and somehow do what @Roundyboutsuggested. It's not going to happen though.
  16. "The American people are a welcoming and generous people. But those who enter our country illegally, and those who employ them, disrespect the rule of law."
  17. Last year's regular season finale where Josh only played one snap. They're not replaying that game on NFL Network for some reason.
  18. It's a message board. Why not share your opinions on what you think his worth is? No rush at all. I'd have to see what the franchise tag number is but I'm guessing it's around $15m so that would be a no for me. The landscape can change a lot in a year too. Maybe there's another RB on the FA market that's an every down back that's worth what Cook is asking next year? Maybe it's a loaded RB draft class and we desperately need money at signing a big name WR or other premium position. You just give yourselves so many more options by letting him play out this year.
  19. No but I did spend last night at a Holiday Express. Here's where I got just in PFF's preview article of projected starters for 2025 and their grades last year. I just assumed since he received a grade he qualified. I'm not going to pay for PFF because the price they charge is ridiculous. OFFENSE DEFENSE QB Josh Allen (91.9) DI Ed Oliver (72.6) RB James Cook (86.2) DI DaQuan Jones (65.3) RB Ty Johnson (73.3) Edge Greg Rousseau (82.2) WR Khalil Shakir (78.9) Edge Joey Bosa (61.1) WR Keon Coleman (68.3) Edge Michael Hoecht (64.7) WR Joshua Palmer (67.0) LB Matt Milano (53.3) TE Dawson Knox (57.1) LB Terrel Bernard (48.2) LT Dion Dawkins (72.4) CB Christian Benford (79.3) LG David Edwards (66.1) CB Maxwell Hairston (81.8***) C Connor McGovern (69.5) CB Taron Johnson (58.8) RG O'Cyrus Torrence (55.5) S Taylor Rapp (57.7) RT Spencer Brown (77.9) S Damar Hamlin (52.7) *2024 college grade **2023 NFL grade ***2023 college grade
  20. Yeah. I never hear about a GM being criticized by fans for cutting someone with a year left on his contract that's under performed. Cook is up for an extension and should do everything in his power to get one. Just because I don't think he's worth $15m doesn't mean I'm against him trying to get one.
  21. Obviously the Bills aren't giving that to him now. If he repeats his 2024 season take the comp pick and let someone else gamble on trying to turn a soon to be 27 year old RB into an every down back.
  22. I was talking about right now. You could pry add the Saints fans to that list. Maybe the Fish fans too.
  23. The only way Coleman created separation was if he kicked Hairston in the nuts at the beginning of his route.
  24. I'd only do it on 3rd and 1 or less because Allen's not a good deep ball passer. Get the first with the high percentage play and extend drives.
