  1. True but that particular thread is way over the top which showed how enamored fans were with Diggs. Now they're trying to argue it was a bad trade because Beane should've had the foresight to see Justin Jefferson slip to #20? GTFO here with that nonsense.
  2. He pry doesn't because the narrative for Josh over Lamar is he did more with less. If Diggs was on the team you couldn't make as strong of an argument. Josh's best year was 2020 but Rodgers played out of his mind that year. It boggles my mind that people don't. Our offense went from 23rd in the league (26th passing) in 2019 to 2nd in the league (3rd in passing) with the only major additions on offense being Diggs and Daryl Williams.
  3. You can say that about any Buffalo Bill whoever played. I think you’re hatred for Diggs maybe clouding your judgement.
  4. So he traded a 1st round pick for a sure thing for a WR diva in AJ Brown who has given them three straight 1,000 yard seasons and has been instrumental in helping Hurts develop as a quarterback. Bright guy.
  5. Which is why you go for the sure thing instead of rolling the dice. Howie "best Gm of the league" Roseman took Jalen Reagor one pick before Jefferson.
  6. It was just an example of us giving up too early on a prospect. You're right in saying it isn't an apples to apples comparison.
  7. He could've just as easily picked Henry Ruggs or Jalen Rheagor if he moved up that far. Josh needed a veteran #1 WR to develop as a passer. Diggs was a better WR than everybody in that draft class besides Justin Jefferson in 2020. He tends to do that. That's why I'm not salivating over Elijah Moore or Josh Palmer right now. The majority of us were happy at the time.
  8. True and the reason 2020 sticks out is because teams weren't playing as much two high safeties as they are now. Plus, that was probably the best four WR's we've ever had in a season. Brady's offense is more of a run heavy matriculate the ball down the field type offense to combat that cover 2 shell coverage and screens are a big part of it. I get your point that his YAC is enhanced because he did receive the most screens behind only Shakir. That's why I find yards after contact per attempt also useful. Compared to a top 10 paid TE in the league in Knox, Kincaid averaged 2.61 yards after contact while Knox only averaged 1.5. Only George Kittle had more yards after contact than Kincaid as far as qualifying TE's go last year. Although, even then you had to figure a reason for that is he had more of a running start because of the number of quick screens he caught. I want to see the Bills attack the intermediate area of the field this year. I'm not sure if defenses didn't have enough respect for our outside WR's or it's a deficiency in Brady's play calling/scheme. I guess my overall point is last year was pry Kincaid's floor as a TE could be given his strengths at the position. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a rebound year for him.
  9. True but we're also the only team besides the Chiefs to reach at least the Divisional round five straight times since 2020.
  10. The flip side to that is the harder the journey the more satisfying the reward will be if we do win one.
  11. Beane didn't get that message calling into WGR. LOL. I'll qualify. Dumbest take that's been repeated over and over again over a five year period. Lol. There always seems to be a "who won the trade" argument no matter the transaction but I can't remember such a win win trade The dumbest take either on this board or the old board (don't remember) is someone said that Trent Edwards would've been just as successful as Brady in the Pats offensive system. Look at the thread when he signed. People were ecstatic. Diggs fooled us all.
  12. Trade policy 101 really needs to be a new high school curriculum. There is no such thing as a "trade deficit." It's a subjective made up term. It's as silly as saying a surplus of imports is positive or exports exceeding imports as negative. It's like saying I have a trade deficit with the grocery store because I give them money for goods.
  13. I never brushed it off as nothing and you'd have to be Hellen Keller not to see that his relationship with the team hadn't deteriorated at least a little as soon as the "very concerned" first day of mandatory mini camp opened. Especially the relationship between him and Josh. I assumed they got through 2022 with duct tape and thought they'd have to again in 2023 before it made more sense both on the field and financially to move on. The first time I thought it was actually more likely than not he was getting traded was the "you sure" comment on Twitter. I thought after that tweet that you needed to rip the band-aid off and get what you could for him which Beane ended up doing. The biggest shock to me was that he didn't wait until after June 1st so he could spread out the dead cap hit. Some fans did argue there was nothing wrong with Diggs though like you said and it's pry just the classic defense mechanism of denial for most. I can't get inside their heads though.
  14. You're the GM and you have a QB that is still very raw and not even in the top half of the league yet. You go get him that true #1 WR in the middle of his prime. Beane didn't have the benefit of hindsight. You don't wait until the draft and hope you get lucky. No offense, but this is the absolute dumbest takes on this board that's been made repeatedly since the trade.
  15. Diggs has been pre gaming hard for this wedding.
  16. I'd prefer to keep both but I know how the mind of most die hard fans works. I'll pry soak it in until about an half hour after Josh/McD raised the Lombardi and then start thinking about possible comp picks.
  17. That is 100% fair. The reason people were so snarky was the idea that Brandon Beane of all people would be willing to eat the most dead cap ever ($31m) for a position that wasn't a QB during the prime of Josh's career was just highly unlikely. Especially when your only good WR besides Diggs was Shakir. Beane ripping the band aid off was shocking to me and a lot of us had to eat crow because of it. I underrated the toxicity of the situation when in retrospect I shouldn't have. People like Stephen A Smith were mocked on here but he turned out being right. I learned my lesson when it comes to looking too much at the cap ramifications and not enough about the locker room dynamic of a team.
  18. I know the Bills love Knox but he might be getting in the way. Look at these splits. Knox only had 311 yards in 16 games last year. The silver lining is if Knox is released next off-season they can give Kincaid one more chance before he's able to hit free agency. Metric Kincaid Knox PFF Grade 76.6 57.1 Route Particiaption 57.7% 48.3% Target Share 18.1% 6.4% TPRR 0.28 0.12 YPRR 1.76 1.18 YAC/Rec 6.36 4.55 YACO/Rec 2.61 1.50 MTF/Rec 0.180 0 First Down/RR 0.091 0.046 FP/G 7.8 3.7 XFP/G 9.9 3.3 XFP/RR 0.51 0.20
  19. Ground rules the OP forgot. -Nobody in this thread can respond without issuing the word "playoffs." -No snarky comments about how we're regular season champions.
  20. I think he was just being honest as a quad strain can tend to linger as it's a soft tissue injury.
  21. My fear is he pulls a Wyatt Teller of the 1st round on us. The talent is so obvious watching him play. He's not schemed open. Not sure if Brady's even capable of that. It's the fluidity of his routes that account for his above average YAC as he's already turning up field when catching it.
  22. I completely agree. Beane trading for Diggs was his 2nd best move outside of drafting Josh Allen. He put up the four most productive season ever by a Bills WR. Getting a 2nd rounder for him was also a steal. Yeah, Beane made a mistake extending him but nobody criticized the move at the time. Their was always a walking on eggshells feeling with Diggs because of the way he forced his way out of Minnesota. Now we know why.
  23. PFF still has him as the 10th best TE. He's going to be good in this league. Brady, him, and Josh need to figure it out or you'll see him excelling elsewhere. 10. Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills Kincaid is another second-year tight end whose production declined from his rookie season, but he has still generated the ninth-most PFF WAR across the past two seasons. His 71.1 PFF receiving grade in 2024 was actually better than his rookie-season mark, but he saw 20 fewer targets and caught 31 fewer passes.
  24. I have a sneaky suspicion that Shedeur Sanders is going to be a top 8 to 12 starting QB in this league. He's got the first real chip on his shoulder sliding to the 5th round despite being viewed by most as a late 1st or 2nd round prospect. The Browns will somehow screw it up though and he'll take the Baker Mayfield route and excel in Arizona or some place like that.
