  1. That's the Gabe Davis and Isiah McKenzie sales pitch I heard. He's not a bad route runner but he's better creating space after the catch than before. It's why his stats are better against zone coverage. The arm length thing isn't over exaggerated as he is in the bottom 1% of WR's. It's why he can't play outside as press man coverage eliminates him from the play. He also isn't going to win any 50/50 balls down the field. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the amount of production he had last year down the field on deep throws given his limitations but that usually came on low trajectory deep ball passes or broken plays. My guess is we'll never have worse outside WR's than we had last year so those opportunities will decline His strong suit is finding the soft spot in zones and running after the catch. Allen likes to push the ball downfield so you're never going to see him get Wes Welker like production which we are talking about with over 1,200 yards from a purely slot WR.
  2. I'd take Rasul over all three without hesitation and I would hate the idea of him being our CB2. The Rams gave Tre a $3.25m guaranteed and he was so bad they just released him mid season. Dane Jackson was historically bad last year and the Panthers are now eating $1.5m in dead cap space. We know nothing about Strong yet besides him being a 6th round pick. If Hairston doesn't get the starting role look for a CB trade around week 7.
  3. There were a lot of decent films that year and the subject matter is sometimes too dark for the Oscar voters. A early year release hurt it too. I thought Hanks deserved an Oscar nom for Captain Phillips that year too.
  4. It's possible but highly unlikely. Shakir's strength is finding soft spots in zone and YAC ability. He isn't a superb route runner like Beasley and has a small catch radius with his microscopic arms so that limits his opportunities down the field. He's not going to win many closely contested catches. I think 1,000 is a possibility but I'd be shocked if he ever cracked 1,200 yards.
  5. I don't think we'll ever see an MVP race be as fascinating as what we had last year. I could make a great case for each side. And yes, ***** Tom Brady. LOL.
  6. I'm not complaining about the cost. It's peanuts in the grand scheme of things.
  7. Military parades have long been debated before Trump came into office and veterans/non veterans alike have always been split on it. Some view it as honoring our military. Some see it as not needing to have them is the reason America is so strong given that communist countries like North Korea have them often for propaganda purposes. Memorial Day parades, Veteran day parades, singing the National Anthem, and pre game fly overs at sporting events do the job just fine. I respect both sides views on it but the left complaining about it really being a vanity parade because it happens to fall on Trump's birthday is just stupid imo. I think the 250th anniversary is a significant enough milestone that a parade is warranted despite the cost.
  8. Was he under contract yet?
  9. It's so tough because the defensive roster has been built pretty specifically for McDermott's defensive scheme. Moving on from him would be a likely lost year the following season. Plus, you'd lose a lot of quality position coaches on both sides of the ball. The one scenario that would make sense to me is making Joe Brady the head coach if McDermott's defense underachieved in the playoffs again. Brady will be hired elsewhere next year if he repeats anything close to what he achieved last year so why not make the head coach him. Keeping Beane in place and most of the staff in place while either keeping Babich as DC or finding some other defensive coordinator that knows McD's scheme. That way Josh Allen would have more stability at the offensive coordinator position as opposed to a revolving door of offensive coordinators he's had up to this point in his career.
  10. They do they take their votes very seriously and it's way better than players, coaches, and fans like the Pro Bowl voting system is.
  11. They did. https://apnews.com/sports/how-they-voted-josh-allen-wins-ap-nfl-mvp-award-00000194de7cdd80a79dde7c10b10000
  12. Ironically it was Mark Andrews that caught the discrepancy.
  13. One of his last points stood out to me where he basically compared Trump's followers to flat earthers in his point about the media shouldn't treat everything as a 50/50 debate. I just hate the arrogance of Costas and many like him. It's why Trump for all his massive flaws is better able to read a room (or a country in his case) than any other politician in my lifetime.
  14. Without looking at any of the responses that would easily sway me. I'm not counting the last game so it's how many we'd win out of 16. 1.) We'd win 8 without Josh Allen 2.) We'd win 11 without James Cook (Lions and home Pats game) which goes against every anti pay Cook I made this off-season. 3.) We'd win 10 without both tackles. That would definitely hurt the worst besides Allen. 4.) We'd win 13 without Ed Oliver. Wouldn't be as big of a Buffalo blow out in some games though. 5.) We'd win 12 without Rousseau. Arizona game. 6.) We'd win 14 without Ferguson as much as I like him. The Rams punt block cost us that game.
  15. Damn. I forgot about Midnight Run. Excellent choice. There's just so many good damn movies to consolidate it to 5.
  16. Poor attempt at a joke with four super serious critically acclaimed movies and then Dude Where's My Car. My real list does of course include BTTF and four other random movies that I thought were well done and just kind of stuck with me over the years. Honorable mentions would be Inglourious Basterds, Before Sunset, and Fargo. Gangs of New York if done correctly could've been right up there as it painted an interesting time in US History that not many films have touched. It was just too scattered and Daniel Day Louis was the only stand out actor with Dicaprio (who I usually like) and Diaz as miscast. Back to the Future Prisoners What's Eating Gilbert Grape About Schmidt Notorious
  17. Passion of the Christ 12 Years a Slave All Quiet on The Western Front Schindler's List Dude Where's My Car
  18. Winning points with the fans to put more public pressure on Beane. Next level stuff. In all seriousness, wherever you stand on Cook you have to at least give him credit for showing up and participating when a lot of unhappy players contract wise around the league didn't.
  19. Dude couldn't even get a wall built and people are worried about that?
  20. It's been predicted my whole life. Just remember. The 2026 midterms will be the most important vote of our lives.
  21. So, he fumbles a lot then? I kid. The pay matters isn't for the unimaginative weak. I'm not going to pay Bass $6m a year like he's Harrison Butker. Geez. As far as mini camp drama sequels go this is like Speed 2 compared to Diggs two years ago.
  22. Now all we need to do is trade for Cobe Bryant.
  23. We'd always just restructure Allen's deal and I figured the Bengals would do the same thing with Burrow. They didn't. They did the right thing in re-signing two guys at premium positions coming off their rookie contracts. That's really good business. It's just the contract structure on Burrow, Higgins, and Chase's deals are unusual. They're not back loaded at all. Chase in particular actually will count more against the cap this year than he would've on his 5th year option. That's crazy for a team shooting for the Super Bowl. If they don't nail their draft picks of doing business this way they're screwed. No it isn't. They could sign all three and still put out a Super Bowl contending roster if their draft picks hit. They'd have to be willing to re-structure those deals though and Brown's too cheap for that.
  24. I don't think they've been horribly underpaid as much as having to wait three years on your rookie deal to get an extension sucks for RB's because of the shorter shelf life compared to other positions. Look at Isiah Pacheco. His contract is 4 years $3.7m dollars because he was drafted in the 7th round. Last off-season he could've gotten a pretty good contract after two years of solid production. He gets injured his third year and isn't the same. Now he's going into his final year of his contract and has to produce or he won't get much in free agency.
  25. It's cheaper but usually a disaster extending a RB before the last year of his rookie contract (Gurley, Dalvin Cook, David Johnson, Zeek, Chubb). I'm having a hard time where one did work out off the top of my head at least within the last six to eight years. McCaffrey you could argue was the best contract extension on his rookie deal but it was only a good deal for the 49ers (not the Panthers). Edit: I forgot about Derrick Henry. Well worth the money for the Titans.
