I disagree and think he was just frustrated from the questions he received all weekend about WR. Then when he thinks he hit a home run draft there's pretty much nothing but negativity by Jeremy and Joe about not addressing the WR position in the draft before joining with Beane live. If it was calculated I doubt he targets a morning radio show to do it.

As long as he vows to never play soccer.

What positions we prioritize in the draft: Part 2
Doc Brown replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they did it would pry be about a 50/50 offense to defense split after this defensive heavy draft. The fact that our o-line ranks 26th is a testament to the pro scouting department and Aaron Kromer for building a top five offensive line last year. I wish I could play with the spreadsheet more but the draft capital spent on QB's seems to correlate with your team sucking. One obvious and not surprising trend is teams with above 10% invested in their QB are Bears, Patriots, Jets, Texans, Cardinals, and Browns. One playoff team (Texans) and every other team below .500 last year. Bears whiffed on Justin Fields. Patriots whiffed on Mac Jones. Jets whiffed on Zach Wilson. Cardinals whiffed on the wrong Josh Browns meanwhile managed to somehow let their franchise QB go prematurely (Baker) because they thought it was smart business to give a guy the highest guaranteed contract in NFL history with 23 sexual harassment allegations against him along with a plethora of picks. They took a 3rd and a 5th round QB in this year's draft despite the 5th rounder being better than the third rounder, signed a QB we all know will be working at The Home Depot in five years in Kenny Picket, and signed up the old WWII veteran Joe Flacco. -
Atlanta Falcons’ DC’s kid pranked Shedeur
Doc Brown replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just think Deion and Shedeur badly misread the room as far as scouts evaluation of him goes. If Eli was a 2nd round prospect that might slip into the first round at best than I don't think Archie would've been doing radio interviews in January saying he'd have a say in where his kid goes like Deion was. I also don't think that Eli would've acted like Shedeur did in thinking he was above the normal draft process the NFL encourages prospects to go through. Once the QB needy teams said no to Shedeur he fell because the talent wasn't worth the headache as a backup/developmental player until the value was too good to pass on in round 5. It was stunning to me tbh in a QB hungry league that he lasted all the way to the 5th round. -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Doc Brown replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
All had at least 800 yards seasons before coming here. Brown had one season over 1,000 yards before coming here. Beasley's best year here was about 130 yards more than his best year with the Cowboys. Diggs had two straight 1,000 yard seasons before coming here. Great QB's can make mediocre WR's better but it's not a guarantee. The WR on our roster with the most yards in a season was Curtis Samuel with 851 yards receiving in 2020. -
At Beane's next press conference a reporter should ask him whether he thinks Wide Receiver or Safety are the weakest unit on the team.

Eli was a MUCH better prospect. If Shedeur had Eli's college tape the same thing could've happened between the Titans, Browns, and Giants this year. Shedeur was a 2nd round prospect by most. -
No. We got Prather. We're fine.
-
See. I forgot his name already. Any relation to Deion?

All Beane did was heighten the concern fans have about not having a good enough WR core. He amplified that narrative. Nobody's talking about TJ Edwards right now. Lol.
-
Big whoop. The wind won't get confused there.

It takes a lot of self discipline to remain thick skinned and not shoot back at the critics. Beane getting a little salty on a radio network doesn't mean hardly anything in the long run but I don't see this as some kind of putting these radio guys in their place type victory. It accomplishes nothing.

Moss was pedestrian in Oakland but you're right in general. Truly elite WR's will always put up numbers no matter who the QB is. -
I don't know what's worse. Going through the drought or the angst of not winning a Super Bowl with the best QB this franchise will ever have.
-
I would've laughed if Jeremy or Joe said explain Philly's offense then.
-
I think he just got frustrated by the outside noise after working 18 to 20 hours a day the last three months trying to nail this draft.
-
On the one hand it gave us a good glimpse of how Beane views our current offense. On the other hand, I wish he didn't go through with the rant. He showed that the lions are concerning themselves with the opinions of the sheep.

Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?
Doc Brown replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're giving them too much credit. They thought that these were actually savvy moves at the time. -

He's always done this I think. Last one I recall was Latavius Murray when we didn't draft a RB. -

I don't even know where Royals fits in with Brown, Worthy, Rice, and Juju on the roster. Maybe battling it out with Watson for that #5 role? Rather throw darts at D-line and CB's given where this team is. -

I'd prefer Moore over any of the WR's drafted after Golden went off the board. -

No. No. This is a specific WR thread. No TE's allowed. Two overrated day two rookies, Myers, and Tucker are terrifying though. -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Doc Brown replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I gladly would've given him the contract the Steelers gave him because Allen is in his prime and doesn't have a #1 WR that scares a defense. I'm not the idiot that gave Hoecht, Palmer, and Ogunjobi what would've equated to what we pry would've paid Metcalf. -

If we didn't trade our 2005 first rounder to draft Losman in 2004 we pry would've drafted Rodgers in 2005 at pick #20. Flippin Donahoe. -

I get it now. Lol. Nobody is thinking that the Steelers would trade Metcalf after just trading for Metcalf. We're wondering whether Beane screwed up in not outbidding the Steelers to get Metcalf. I absolutely think he did.
