  1. I guess it's better than a comp pick which is what they would've gotten if they just let him walk. Don't like the move for the Titans as they'll now have to pay top dollar for a CB and give up what will pry be a high 3rd rounder.
  2. The general consensus at the time was Watkins was the best WR prospect since AJ Green. Giving up significant draft capital to move up in the draft (especially for a non QB) is historically a losing proposition.
  3. Not for the Vikings he didn't. The Cowboys parlayed those draft picks into Emmitt Smith, Russell Maryland, Kevin Smith, and Darryl Woodson. It's one of the most fascinating trades of all time.
  4. A bit hyperbolic as the Herschel Walker trade alone pry led to three Cowboys Super Bowls in the 90's. Also, that doesn't mean Atlanta wouldn't have used those picks they gave up effectively.
  5. Careful what you wish for. I'm not saying Harrison Jr. will be disappointing like Watkins but 2014 was also looked at as a WR rich draft with Watkins in a tier of his own.
  6. Let's just say Brandon Beane gets drugged hours before the draft. This is what it took for the Falcons to move from 27 to 6 for reference. Maybe it would require a 2025 2nd instead of a 4th.
  7. I heard he's going all out with it being his 50th. He's putting a scoop of sugar in his steel cut oatmeal.
  8. Just by the interviews last off-season I wish he'd work more on nutrition more to prolong his career as long as possible. Other than that I don't have much to criticize as we really don't know how much he does to improve his game each off-season.
  9. They've never carried two punters. They have eaten dead money though if a player wins the competition in training camp (Morris over OJ Howard). It's possible Haack beats out Martin.
  10. I'd put money on it only being a three year extension after his 5th year option with $28m guaranteed.
  11. Does the 41 million guaranteed include the 13 million guaranteed fifth year option?
  12. Unless you get a trade offer for him that made sense both short and long term.
  13. If we didn't give Trubisky $2.7m guaranteed they may have inquired about Fields. He'll count $2m towards the cap this year and we'll eat $1.5m if we cut him. This team cap wise isn't in a position to commit at what minimum would've been a $4.7m cap space to the backup QB position (assuming Trubisky was cut).
  14. Of course it's not. You don't light $38m of cap space on fire.
  15. If I had to put money on it he's going either DE or OT if he stays at #28. That might be where the value is.
  16. Do you think it's an age concern or off the field stuff (or both)? I think they didn't restructured White's contract last off-season because of concern about his ACL if I remember correctly.
  17. Well I guess if it's reported on twitter by unserious people trying to stir up the pot it could lead to one saying, "when there's smoke, there's fire."
  18. Beane should do this and then renig on the trade. Then even I'd call him a "wizard."
  19. They'd save $38m more in cap space over three years if they trade him after June 1st. They'd have to get one heck of an offer before the draft for them to give that up and his stock is pretty low right now.
  20. No they can't. The post June 1st designation can only be applied to players that are cut.
  21. Apparently there was some behind the scenes stuff with Pickett that rubbed the coaching staff the wrong way. What a terrible reach for them.
  22. He has the athleticism and physical profile of John Brown and the first seven years of production similar to Cole Beasley's. He's not like either of those players as far as I can tell. A poor man's Deebo Samuel? At least that's the way Brady used him in Carolina. It'll be interesting to see how he fits into this offense because it has me scratching my head.
  23. There goes that 6th round comp pick. SMH.
  24. My guess is it was mostly PR. It was meant to soften the blow of the Morse release and the Bates trade to fans. Along with avoiding future questions from reporters about wtf they were thinking. Plus, Edwards was just signed and about to have a zoom press conference so he could say that he's going to be the starter.
