It's like someone said a couple days ago regarding McDermott. When he first started out he was very conservative. Always went for the fgs most of the time. Then when we tried to keep up with KC using fgs, it clearly was a failed strategy. Now it's like we've completely "over-corrected". It's OK to be aggressive 60-70% of the time but that 4th & 2 was screaming kick the damn fg. Get points and go up 30-17. With all the redzone mistakes we're getting nothing.

Playing Cam Lewis last week over Marlowe just drips of mismanaged loyalty. Marlowe was the clearly better player. Juquan has been terrible. Hey let's give the ST guy a chance. Just stupid coaching decision.

Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

I gave McDermott the benefit of the doubt when his defense blew a 16-0 lead in Houston. I tried to rationalize why KC dismantled his defense in 2020 AFCCG. Last year was the final straw. He was directly responsible for not getting his ST unit ready for a pooch. Or defending the sidelines while Andy has 3 timeouts. We've experienced countless bonehead gameday decisions by both Frazier & McD. And now there's concerns for Dorsey? I wanted McD to kick the short fg and put us up 30-17. The Vikings are not Mahomes. But oh well. Daboll helped Josh and now he's gone. McD or Dorsey have gotta find a way to restructure Josh's responsibilities. He can't be expected to be 95% of the offense. Without neutering his elite athleticism, give Josh a better OL and maybe a fraction of a run game. And finally if you have dumb players on your team ( Cam ) then release them. The coaches are responsible for this. -
Bills O Line/Unforced Error Review - Week 10 - Vikings

Devin's pass blocking has been exceptional. -
Exactly....they could've at the very least played Rhodes and Marlowe more. I've given up on ever seeing Tre this fall?

The whole idea of increasing our currently mediocre run game is not about commitment. It's about taking pressure off Josh Allen. It's about removing the ideal that Josh Allen has to be 100% of the offense. It's about making teams guess whether it's a pass or run play. No one is asking the offense to run 40-50 times per game. But until Sean & Brandon lock themselves in a meeting room and decide the value of a better run blocking OL and speed RB's, nothing will change. It's time for Brandon Beane to stand up to McDermott and say enough is enough.

Allen's final throw, bad decision or bad pass?

He's not been on the same page with Gabe alot this year. I personally thought Gabe was never open to begin with and Josh should've thrown it away. -
Good, the weather will force checkdowns. Let it snow.

A Few Thoughts about the Vikings game, in no particular order
LABILLBACKER replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. Both interceptions were awful and the receivers were nowhere near open. 2. Would've liked to see more Motor, Hines & Marlowe....and less Lewis. 3. Pass rush never touched Cousins till the 4th. Why not anticipate Jefferson seeing a ton of targets and double his ass? 4. The long td run by Cook was bound to happen. We've seen that movie before. 5. Yes, Josh has to stop trying to press and be 99% of the offense, even though his coaches and gameplanning would disagree. This is not sustainable nor is it intelligent. Josh might be playing like a rookie because his OC is a rookie. -
Wish we could get 3rd & 1's like that. Must be nice.
-
Or just stick 4 wrs in pattern and spread the field. That play was doomed to fail considering Josh hates sneaks behind center. Stick him in shotgun and give him options to run or pass outside the c/d gap.
-
I don't want to see Cam Lewis or Juquan Johnson play another snap. If you want to bury em on ST fine. Pass rush didn't even touch Cousins till halfway into the 4th qtr.
-
He's looking like a qb with a rookie first year coordinator. Dorsey is not Dabs and these growing pains may take some time. Would I personally rather have an offensive HC, of course. But that is not realistic in the short term. Dorsey has to improve and Josh has to settle down and take the occassional checkdown.

Nyheim Hines: Why did we bother trading for him?
LABILLBACKER replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
If I'm Beane I'm seriously pissed. Hines has skills and we're wasting him because these terrified coaches think he needs 3 weeks to learn the book. Maybe Marlowe knocks that ball down rather than Cam selfishly going for the pick.
