We need OL upgrades everywhere. I don't care if it's in the draft, free agency or someone at Walmart. If Andy can completely overhaul his OL in 1 year, so can we.
-
I'm not keeping Gilliam, McKenzie, Settle, Spector or Lewis.
-
I'm going to save my pennies and start a go fund me page for our OL.

Would you resign Edmunds or a tackle?

It's highly doubtful Tremaine stays for 11M/yr. He's going to want a minimum of 15 and probably even more. He's gone folks. Draft a kid or sign a cheap short term vet to replace 49. -

I agree. I almost don't give a rats ass what the defense does next year. It should be 100% about flooding the offense with weapons and protection around your super asset. Stop dicking around wasting 65-70% of your cap space on under performing defense players. Milano and a healthy Von are the only ones worth their salt. All Offense in 2023. -
Perhaps Kromer is overrated as an OLine coach?

Sorry dude not buying it. I lost track at how many times Saffold and Brown got beat immediately by their man. Quessenberry almost knocked Josh out for the season. Dawkins tailed off at the end of the season. I'm sure some of this is on the combination of Josh and Dorsey playing long ball and ignoring checkdowns. But all in all Beach chairs had a bad year. -
This is not brain surgery. Technologically you could simply have a special vibrating pager type device in the chief refs pocket set to go off at the exact instant the clock hits zero. He doesn't have to visually align the snap with the clock. They can easily do this they're just lazy and want to keep it subjective to move the game along. Perera and Blandino have said this before.

I can sign Taylor (RT) and Pocic (C) and still have money left over. This idea of keeping Tremaine is ridiculous. It's not happening. If this organization dumps 20M into Tremaine instead of helping Josh, that will divide the locker room.- 153 replies

2023 Offseason Primer: Cap Tickets (Restructure)
LABILLBACKER replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
We can't afford Edmunds at 15-20M. There are just too many dire needs at OL. Time to replace that position with a rookie. -
....last 4 playoffs....

Just a suggestion to help out the current affairs.

OL has to be not only first but finished. Teams every year overhaul their olines. Andy did it in 1 year. Selecting a RB first is putting the cart ahead of the horse. We need to draft 2 Olineman and 1 WR in the first 4 rounds. Then sign another OL guy (Jawaan Taylor/ Risner type) in FA. -

Dude, the process sucks in the playoffs. But if you're satisfied with a Schottenheimer type HC, knock yourself out. -

The problem is not nor will it ever be Josh's contract. It was always inevitable to pay him. Yes we kinda wasted the cheap rookie contract years but it's how we deal with the future. We will be drafting important "rookie contract" guys to surround Josh. This coaching staff or whoever is in charge down the road must ensure we don't also waste those. -
No Simon we don't but if we're going to continue this ridiculous thread why not set the football to explode right at zero. Now that's what I call a dead ball.

Better pray Andy doesn't draft a couple dynamic wrs in the near future or we're really screwed. -
Dust has settled...Alphas look at what lies ahead
LABILLBACKER replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
No it was never Devin's fault. He stood no chance behind that awful line for 5 years. It's actually a good testament to him that his career yard average was that high. Cook will be our finesse speed guy but as MAJBobby suggested, grab Perine cheap for that short yardage power back. Less wear & tear on 17. -
If Perine is available for 2-3M, I'd absolutely jump on that signing. Slide Hines to primarily return guy and 3rd string insurance @rb. Still like to stash a couple PS Rbs that don't get poached.
-
....a bad oline and bad OC will do that sometimes....

The biggest mistake will be wasting Josh another year by continuing to go with Sean and the coordinators. Poyer, Edmunds and Singletary had zero impact in all these playoff loses. Let them walk. If Beane doesn't go hard for OL/WR, the above comments won't even matter. We're screwed and a Marty Schottenheimer type purgatory will be our destiny.- 99 replies

He's got the whole off season to rest. Just keep Quessenberry away from him.

We must do a ton of eating right before the playoffs. -
Unfortunately as we've learned throughout the years Sean rarely holds himself accountable for mistakes. "There wasn't enough execution" or "we have to clean things up, work harder"....it's not in a defensive coach's nature to give a squat about offense. But once you become a HC that's all supposed to change. With Sean it hasn't. Terry has got to see the cronyism going on with him & Leslie. This defensive philosophy / scheme is a disaster. How many more quick playoff exits have to happen before Terry figures it out.
