We can't afford Edmunds at 15-20M. There are just too many dire needs at OL. Time to replace that position with a rookie.

OL has to be not only first but finished. Teams every year overhaul their olines. Andy did it in 1 year. Selecting a RB first is putting the cart ahead of the horse. We need to draft 2 Olineman and 1 WR in the first 4 rounds. Then sign another OL guy (Jawaan Taylor/ Risner type) in FA.

Dude, the process sucks in the playoffs. But if you're satisfied with a Schottenheimer type HC, knock yourself out.

The problem is not nor will it ever be Josh's contract. It was always inevitable to pay him. Yes we kinda wasted the cheap rookie contract years but it's how we deal with the future. We will be drafting important "rookie contract" guys to surround Josh. This coaching staff or whoever is in charge down the road must ensure we don't also waste those.

That's exactly what happened. Ken let him do what Josh wanted and it was intoxicating to him. He didn't have Dabs there to show him the value of checkdowns and getting 1st downs. I lost track at how many times it was 3rd & short and we went deep. It's like "Cocaine Favre" the movie.

Better pray Andy doesn't draft a couple dynamic wrs in the near future or we're really screwed.

No it was never Devin's fault. He stood no chance behind that awful line for 5 years. It's actually a good testament to him that his career yard average was that high. Cook will be our finesse speed guy but as MAJBobby suggested, grab Perine cheap for that short yardage power back. Less wear & tear on 17.

If Perine is available for 2-3M, I'd absolutely jump on that signing. Slide Hines to primarily return guy and 3rd string insurance @rb. Still like to stash a couple PS Rbs that don't get poached.

The biggest mistake will be wasting Josh another year by continuing to go with Sean and the coordinators. Poyer, Edmunds and Singletary had zero impact in all these playoff loses. Let them walk. If Beane doesn't go hard for OL/WR, the above comments won't even matter. We're screwed and a Marty Schottenheimer type purgatory will be our destiny.

He's got the whole off season to rest. Just keep Quessenberry away from him.

Unfortunately as we've learned throughout the years Sean rarely holds himself accountable for mistakes. "There wasn't enough execution" or "we have to clean things up, work harder"....it's not in a defensive coach's nature to give a squat about offense. But once you become a HC that's all supposed to change. With Sean it hasn't. Terry has got to see the cronyism going on with him & Leslie. This defensive philosophy / scheme is a disaster. How many more quick playoff exits have to happen before Terry figures it out.

I'm walking away from Singletary, Jones and Gilliam. Gilliam serves zero purpose on offense other than blocking. If you get better olineman you don't need a FB. I'm done paying any of my ST players more than league minimum. Devin is just not remarkable. Let Hines be backup for a season to Cook and acquire a couple udfa rbs later. I think Perine stays in Cincy and they let Mixon go. No more RB's in the first 3 rounds.

Not a bad idea even if we do draft 2-3 olineman. Spencer must never be allowed to sniff RT again. Morse is 1 more concussion away from retirement. And Pro Bowl Saffold will not make the final cut.

I agree. We dont need a top 10 defense to win it all but we do need a top 10 OL.

Frazier is a dinosaur. He should've been replaced after the Houston game when he laid off all the wrs by 7-9 yards. He's absolutely terrified to call man press. McDermott selected him so this ridiculous tampa 2 zone philosophy is as much Sean's fault as anything. I don't want a HC that wins the "Christian" Lombardi every year. Process, culture and character is great for choir boys. I'm targeting the "Vince" version by maybe selecting a few less choir boys. As far as offense goes, 99% of our fans are smart enough to see the biggest problem. No support system for Josh outside of Diggs. Waiting nearly 6 years to flip the OL. Waiting 3 years to find a true WR2. Waiting 5 years to find a dynamic RB and commitment to more rushes. Waiting 6 years for a decent TE2. Dorsey is probably not the solution but I'm reluctantly willing to give him 1 more year. Call motion, call screens, call misdirection, have hot reads ready when Josh gets pressure. Do all of this along with forcing Josh to acknowledge the benefits of checkdowns and maybe... just maybe we'll have a chance a Vince.

I really feel sorry for Josh. As long as the Pegulas keep McDermott around with his merry men of coaches, this team will win just enough games to slide into the playoffs but tear your heart out immediately.

I've been saying this since the Houston game. We're never winning a SB with these clowns. If you're satisfied with Schottenheimer football then enjoy.
