  1. I’d agree with White on Edelman. It would be Belichick- esque to double their best player and put their best CB on the second best weapon. No need for white on JAG Hogan
  2. The Bills will explore all trade possibilities including as buyers. They will be a tough sell for top FA’s and probably need to address some offensive deficiencies via trade.
  3. You can find good, productive RBs just about anywhere. Alvin Kamara wasn’t a high pick. Kareem Hunt etc. The position doesn’t matter as much as it did in the 80’s and 90’s. The draft is stacked at DL. I wouldn’t advocate trading Hughes, but McCoy should be dealt if someone wants to give up a 2nd rounder or even a third.
  4. No, not the issue. They care, but they are half a football team. Regardless of their defensive capabilities, they’re not miracle workers. 3 and outs on offense = extra possessions for NE. That’s a recipe for disaster, even for good teams in the league. This offense has no talent. That’s the problem.
  5. Check out the Chiefs boards and you’ll have your answer.
  6. Rosen’s been up and down to say the least. He led a comeback vs a bad SF defense. Allen led a road win vs MIN. Way more evidence is needed. Check back around next thanksgiving and we’ll have a clearer picture.
  7. Wasting an all time great QB... sure sign him up!
  8. Memories....Misty water colored memories.....
  9. Ahh yes, the tailgating... At some point it would be great if the tailgate became secondary to the football. It actually was at one time. GMs and coaches do not get to use the if I had a do over excuse to keep their highly paid posts. They need to be right or they will be fired. Bills fans deserve good football after the last twenty or so years of futility.
  10. It won’t happen, but he’d be exactly what you want in that spot.
  11. As fans we always hope we see players improve and pan out because they won’t be able to fill every hole on the offense. Chances are pretty good the puck will be a high one anyway, and the draft is a crapshoot that the FO seems spotty on. Hope for the bird in hand at as many positions as possible as opposed to a slightly higher draft spot. Even the lowly Raiders ( post Amari Cooper) seem very capable of scoring multipleTDs vs the Colts team that nearly blanked the Bills.
  12. The Eagles had the offensive talent to match up with the Pats* and decided ifthey were going down it would be swinging. Nothing less. It was an aggressive strategy that worked. The problem for the Bills is they have none of what the Eagles did on offense. Creativity, WR and TE talent, a bruising “ closer” at RB etc. Their strategy will likely be the failed one you describe ,to limit offensive possessions for NE so they don’t get embarrassed. If a team has a decent offense, the strategy should be to take chances and score points. Then hope you get the ball last or leave a very limited clock for NE at the end. This almost worked for the Chiefs a couple weeks ago, but they scored too quickly rather than running a 4 minute offense. It bit them in the end. The only thing that’s ever affected Brady to any great degree is middle pressure. They do a good job of protecting in the middle of the Oline. If you can’t get through there consistently , the other stuff won’t matter all that much.
  13. The other 3 rookie QBs have looked better at passing the football than Allen from what I’ve seen. I’d put Rosen last overall though due to his lack of all around “ game” and leadership/ toughness. If I had to guess, I’d say his top end would be something like a Sam Bradford type. Often banged up and never quite getting it done.
  14. You underestimate the depths that the Bills offense is capable of scraping. Don’t lose hope.
  15. That’s cool if you’re satisfied to use the old trope about hindsight to excuse a lack of foresight. These people are paid a lot of $$ to be right. It goes even deeper than that though, right to ownership. Hiring a HC before replacing a lame duck GM etc. One error leads to another. As for the HC benching the QB, Alex Smith struggled last year. Even losing to the Bills while they were mired in a slump. His HC didn’t bench him for Mahomes. The potential for McD to handle things properly was there though, and it took 3 horrendous games by Taylor to play Peterman. It’s conceivable that he could have played Mahomes there, but would you argue that such a move would ruin him as a QB? What if he came in and threw four TDs ? It’s laughable to mention Mahomes in the same breath while talking about Peterman.
  16. By coaching in Cleveland ...
  17. So you’d prefer the PC non position , rather than getting his thoughts out there before the liberal media mob could spin the situation? Cool. I’m sure all headlines, narratives on CNN et al were just focusing on the victims.
  18. Nice straw man there, not even close to what I said. In fact, I’ve said the opposite in this very thread. I’ll repeat no one in their right mind thinks that Mahomes would duplicate his current performance here. However, Mahomes could have been drafted, sat a year behind Taylor, different player decisions made by the FO etc. You must think Mahomes would be terrible in Buffalo, Allen would set records in KC etc?
  19. It’s woven in to the fabric of being a fan of this team. Look on the bright side, though. What on earth must they talk about on the Pats* boards ;Giselle’s wardrobe at the Super Bowl ?
  20. Acknowledging Bills missteps is hardly a woe-is-me position. It’s valid discussion on a fan message board. How is hiring a defensive coach who has demonstrated little ability to assemble anything on the other side of the ball akin to Andy Reid ? The Bills ownership and FO seems to favor 1970’s NFL football. It’s a huge concern for Bills fans hoping their team decides to join the modern NFL.
  21. Terrible analysis. What he said was more along the lines of “ maybe we have to re-think our notions of security/ safety at traditionally soft targets. We are living in a different world than in the past “. Not really political at all, just acknowledging the reality of the situation.
  22. It takes talent and coaching to win. Sadly, this team has only managed to arrive at the confluence of both a couple of times in its existence.
  23. Bad take. Nobody thought Brady was any good, and even the team that drafted him passed on him in many rounds. A fluke pick that any team could have made or not. The last couple rounds are more luck than anything else. They are not a measure of organizational competence. He wasn’t able to produce that much offense though. It’s the QB more than not.
