  1. Not really. He was likely going to be fired if the Pats lost to the Jets that day, but Mo Lewis did him a favor. He was a career .500 coach until he was forced to play Brady. The Bills should be so lucky, though. I’m talking about young innovative offensive coaches. Belichick is a defensive guy anyway. McDaniels is pretty great as an OC.
  2. Pretty clear it wasn’t a catch from the outset
  3. I believe the other choice in the poll was Anderson. The same would apply to most anyone else though.
  4. McD must rue the day he passed on the Bills franchise QB to move down in the draft.
  5. I don’t know what was said, just heard he swore or something. I was being facetious with my guess lol
  6. I can’t imagine why any Bills fan would want to trot Nathan Peterman out there on MNF to face the Patriots* Masochism? The organization would be ridiculed by NFL observers more than they already are.
  7. But hey, it’ll be okay because I heard McD swore in his post game presser. I’d imagine he said “ I have to look at the DAMN tape” or something.
  8. Can they please just find some good, smart ,innovative ones next time ?
  9. Trouble is there was simply now way you could start Peterman in an NFL game again. Anderson isn’t good, but Peterman is a QB everyone knows cannot play in the league. He doesn’t bring a circus, he brings humiliation to your franchise. I don’t think any of Anderson’s INTs went back for six so that’s an improvement. I saw him make a few throws that would have been intercepted if NP had tried them. The bar is laughably low, but Beane and McD created this. You’re just not going to get anyone decent at this stage of the game. That they brought Anderson in at all shows how awful it really is.
  10. Exactly. The hand they were dealt was pretty close to the NFL average. Setting records for offensive futility isn’t OK, regardless of your greater plan. It’s a flawed plan if it requires being the worst in the league by a mile .
  11. Good players can be found all over the draft. The trouble with a complete teardown of a roster is time taken to reload. Coaches don’t get 5 years to succeed, and it shouldn’t take that long if you keep some quality elements of an existing team and work around them. The current FOs plan is doomed to fail because it depends on being much better than the historical average at drafting players. If they hit on a good amount of them ( track record is mixed at best right now) they’ll still run out of time. We all know what the methods of improvement are. The draft is only so many rounds and they are at an extreme disadvantage for attracting FA offensive players.
  12. The previous regime managed to be consistently mediocre. Should be able to tweak that with a few improvements . Why do people believe you have to be the worst in the league before you can be any good ?
  13. They forgot you have to score points for yards to matter much. 300 yards being a high water mark after 7 games is quite amazing.
  14. Lack of vision and an abundance of ego.
  15. I’d say no. Absolutely not. They got to 9-7 with Marrone but didn’t get the oddball tiebreaker.
  16. No one in their right mind could put this on Anderson. It’s much more deeply rooted than that.
  17. Interesting ? It would be unwatchable. Not just because of the football either.
  18. They have to go where the great players in the draft are. It’s D line high in 2018. Fix the offense by other means than the first round of the draft.
  19. MNF has got to be wishing they could implement flex scheduling.
  20. It can work in baseball. The playing field for obtaining players isn’t a level one by design, but you can win with a bunch of young stars at one time. You’ll never keep it together long, but you can win a Championship that way. It doesn’t work in football though. It’s an easier leap from avaerage to good than from awful.
  21. I guess if you make moves that bring your team to the absolute bottom of the league, selling better days ahead gets a lot easier.
  22. Yes, although I wouldn’t classify the SuperBowl teams as an aberration . They were the outlier in the history of the franchise, but not a happy mistake. They showed what could be done when competent people are put in place. Getting Kelly back after the USFL folded was part happenstance, but Polian an Co put together a nice roster. Ralph then fired his best GM before he should have.
  23. It was about what I expected, with an extra turnover or two. The defensive no-show didn’t help matters. It’s still astounding that the Bills braintrust’s plan to bring along a raw Josh Allen consisted of Peterman and a guy off his vacation in October.
  24. Maybe worse. At least ‘85 you had Bruce Smith. His talent was apparent, but his motivation wasn’t there yet. Those teams were obviously lacking in talent, and I don’t see Beane pulling off a Polian impression.
  25. Nope, not even close to ‘86.That team was on the way up. It took another year ( and there was a player strike in there as well)
