  1. IF everything from FA signings to draft picks work out AND Allen can actually play QB. That’s a pretty big ask. Perhaps they manage to get some of it right and are back to where they began. The step back could be wasted time that runs out on them.
  2. The lake effect snow is actually right smack dab in Orchard Park and even further south. Not downtown Buffalo. There would be plenty of places to party pregame and a covered stadium would open things up to a more upscale fan. Not that it’s going to happen anytime soon, but a new downtown stadium wouldn’t be the apocalypse you make it out to be.
  3. So they took a ( borderline ) playoff team from last year and made it measurably worse. That passes for progress ?
  4. No kidding. Freaking Cowboys on late game here in BUF ( and it looks like most everywhere else) practically every week this season. Who decides this crap anyway?
  5. Who had a half dozen red flags against drafting him with a high pick. But then again, not surprising considering they fell for the “ fools gold” preseason by Nathan Peterman. Their ability to evaluate QB talent is suspect to say the least.
  6. Yeah, after the imminent prime time MNF debacle vs New England sounds about right.
  7. I’m already down to dry heaves after watching a few minutes of Peterman on Sunday, so Anderson starting is just as well.
  8. Fans have been sold a bill of goods. The team was 9-7 last year and managed to make the playoffs. Improving the team enough to extract two more wins going forward ( 11-5 is a pretty solid record in the NFL year in and year out) was within their reach. They decided to take things unnecessarily downward. There is no rule book saying a team must scrape the depths in order to be perennial contenders. This FO has completely bungled the Bills.
  9. That’s more credit than I’m willing to give. They’ve single handedly destroyed/ bungled the offensive side of the team. The QB quandary is sheer incompetence. Their moves have left the team so talent starved on offense that it will take three solid drafts to compete. They will not get that long.
  10. Translation: “ I might actually start Nathan Peterman because I think it’s right and anyone who doesn’t is wrong ;but I respect their right to disagree “
  11. A complete and utter embarrassment. This ( predictable) QB mess they put themselves in is really a fireable offense. Not being hyperbolic; it’s epically bad .
  12. Not really. He was often injured on fairly routine looking tackles while playing WR. He was training for track , and not for survival as an NFL WR. When his Bills contract was winding down , then he got serious about staying in the league. Beathard is much better than Allen at this point. I can say that with confidence. SFs defense isn’t as good as the Bills. The Bills with Beathard would have a decent chance of beating the Packers at Lambeau. They were unable to compete with Allen at the helm.
  13. Then Bills fans get treated to another dose of Peterman. He probably was expecting to get that $$ for mostly holding a clipboard. Oops!
  14. I think it’s much deeper than just scheme fits when it comes to McDermott’s all-important “ process”. Most NFL defensive Coaches have a preferred scheme whether it’s 3-4 , 4-3, zone vs man etc. Few are truly multiple such as Wade Phillips. New England always finds very specific scheme fit players for their offense, usually small shifty WRs that aren’t “ stars” on other teams. There are plenty of players and no team is built around free agents. The real limiting factor in the process is tossing out talented players that haven’t shown a particular personality or makeup. A locker room has all kinds of personalities and egos, and a Coach needs to be better than that. Coach them up, get more out of them and convince them to buy into what you’re selling. You only get so much time when you take over a floundering team or a franchise spinning its wheels. Tossing out good players for lesser ones expecting to hit on all draft picks is a recipe for failure. Maybe McDermott makes it work but I have strong doubts he gets enough time. The process requirement of heaving existing talent overboard makes it a loser.
  15. Can you blame him, really ? Anyway, I’m sure he realized the optics of not beating out a raw rookie and Peterpickoff would be a career killer. Best to get shipped off to Oakland and backup an entrenched ( for now) starter.
  16. Thanks for clearing that up. Wasn’t sure if that was your argument or not, so I qualified it with an if.
  17. And that’s fine. I don’t need others to agree with my opinion to believe in it. The Woods contract seemed like a lot for a utility WR that doesn’t have an elite skill set, but the FA market for WRs took a big jump. Largely because the 2014 class was very good, but subsequent years have produced many flameouts . Teams turned to FA WRs rather than spending more high picks. I think Woods is a fine WR that does many things well.
  18. Hogan was the most overrated WR on that roster. Probably not. He was never going to be franchised, and he wanted to play in California.
  19. I would. He’d easily be the best WR on this team, and would be targeted often. The only OC that made a concerted effort to get him targets was Roman in the second half of 2015. The numbers were pretty good, even with mediocre Tyrod. It’s water under the bridge now, but I’d still have done it.
  20. That’s because he’s not.
  21. Not worth it. The humiliation playing Nathan Peterman for a full season will bring while he sets the NFL record for INT’s isn’t worth a spot or two of draft position. The best players in the upcoming draft play on the DL anyway.
