I don’t believe Bills fans in general have anything in common that could be called a Napoleon complex. They do exhibit a strong rooting interest in the underdog, to an extreme degree at times. Buffalonians are allergic to phoniness and skeptical of anything glitzy, trendy or from the “ big time” cities. This bleeds into their football preferences as well. The old saying about the backup QB being the most popular guy in town rings doubly true in Buffalo. While Josh Allen is from nowhere, California and played for a smaller football conference he still was a top ten draft pick. He’d be a superhero in Buffalo by now if he was a third rounder.

Allen claims he only runs if his first two reads aren’t there. Pundits and skeptics claim he takes off if his first read is covered. Which is it ? I don’t think of Allen being like RG III when it comes to running. He’s got a big frame, and seems to be learning to avoid the big hit quickly. It will always be a part of his game, at least until he’s much older.

Though I haven’t watched or scrutinized Mayfield anywhere close to as much as Allen, I’d contend that Mayfield is well ahead of Allen. He looks more adept at playing traditional QB in the NFL, whereas Allen still looks raw in many aspects. He’s more of an erratic, yet freakishly athletic QB that makes big plays scrambling while occasionally wowing you with a laser-like pass. He may never be a traditional NFL QB, and therefore will always have legions of skeptics.

Well, we got the result we’ve been told we should want, right ? Allen shows moxie, looks in control and shows improvement. The Bills lose , so our draft position is not damaged. Best of both worlds, I guess ?

What an idiotic take. The thread is about officials not making legitimate calls that are plain to see, not blaming officials for players infractions. The officials are generally terrible, and everyone including members of the media know it. Apparently they are all “ losers” in life because they tell it as it is ? There are/ were very few that call a fair game, such as Gene Steratore who is now retired. It’s there for all to see every week, but I guess you just live with it unless you happen to be a Patsy fan. Everyone else? Just losers.

Couldn’t be more true. New England OL holds constantly , yet goes entire games without a holding call. Amazing that no one in a Patriot uniform holds while playing football, yet every other team does multiple times. It’s infuriating to watch, yet embarrassing for football and the NFL at the same time.

I liked Lynn’s approach to play calling. He was an immediate improvement over Roman. Perhaps the offensive minded coach was a better way to go, though at the time I wanted all traces of Rex gone. The penalties seem to have remained even with Rex a distant memory. Lynn does have a far more talented team and QB than the current Bills roster to be fair.

Wow, Steelers defense MIA on that drive. Not sure who I want to win this game, kind of ambivalent. I’m always thinking 8n terms of what would be the worst scenario for the Patriots, and what teams have the best chance to stand in the way.
